  1. Keith Jackson also tweeted me saying warbs wants ANOTHER experienced signing before window closes
  2. Harder to miss! Oh and how on earth was Stella ever considered a ranger, barely good enough to play a league
  3. Just lobbed up at central coast Mariners in Australian league! A classic example of how ridiculous ally's transfer policy was and how much it hamstrung our journey through the leagues
  4. Keith Jackson said "big name" signing..any clues?
  5. To be fair, a lot of papers ran with the story in November, whilst most recently he was linked with hull and qpr. In any case, it seems he's highly rated so we have done well
  6. Make no mistake, this is an excellent signing. Top clubs don't have you scouted if you have no potential. To get him at 22 on a development fee is excellent business
  7. That's my point- I don't think either have spent any money in the Windows other than McLean and perhaps a few small fees. Most players have been brought in on frees for both clubs
  8. Gannon is deluded if he thinks that rangers won't be able to compete against the likes of hearts and Aberdeen. Firstly, both squads have been put together on a shoestring. In fact, I would suggest their combined transfer spend on players over the last 3 seasons would be 400k They have pieced together decent squads through frees and lower league signings. Rangers will easily compete with them next season. However, we don't want to compete with them, we want to obliterate them and challenge Celtic. To do so, the board will need to invest in the transfer market- not huge, but 3 or so for a combined 5mill, along with some astute free signings and our current crop will see us challenging immediately imo.
  9. Anyone know the script with his contract? Clyde and hitc are saying its a loan? Why pay a fee for a loan player with 6 months on his contract?
  10. Anyone notice Halliday at 3rd goal? He did the finger to his lips "silence" gesture to the Rangers end. Any idea why? It's usually reserved for the opposition fans, telling them to hush. Thought it was weird
  11. There was some karma, he gave ball away at 1st holy goal, then got skinned by Waggy for the 4th. Shite player
  12. Covered every blade tonight. Plenty of talk about mginn pre game but holt made him look like an amateur today
  13. 100% sure we will see this lineup: Wes Tav rob Wilson Wallace Ball Halliday holt Miller. McKay Waggy
  14. didn't mean for them to leave now, more like warbs bringing in more players now to bolster the squad for run in, as well as account for a few leaving in summer(temps, bell off contract) and bed new guys in preparation for next season
  15. Yeah he was on trial for a week or so. Would not be surprised if warbs actually brings in 3 or 4 this window, with an eye to releasing some of the dead wood off contract like bell and temps
  16. If a deal had been done, wonder what fee we've paid?
  17. Calling a surprise call up for Walsh. Oduwa been lacking a late, his enthusiasm and pace could be a real asset. Likely Miller wide right tho
  18. Why not play ball in defensive mid? Much more natural position for him and more likely to provide cover on the break. Then play Halliday out wide- again, more of a natural position and would provide much better defensive cover for tav than someone like oduwa
  19. And 3 of our 20 have played less than 90 min between them so hardly counts
  20. They have a squad of 23, most of which have played. We'd be lucky to have more than 15 who've played more than 90min this season
  21. No condemnation here, simply an observation. His lean squad would work, if he had faith in current crop of youths. This is clearly not the case given their limited involvement, and therefore we don't have a "squad" as such in the sense that hungry players will take your place should you underperform. Ultimately, if he can get that 3 or 4 in January to create that competition, I think we will see a remarkable improvement
  22. Warbs has continually reiterated the need for a "lean, hungry" squad, to allow youth a pathway in to the 1st team. But do we all agree that this is likely to be a major reason for our underperformance at present? Over the course of half a season, it has become clear that Warbs is reluctant to use any of the current youth setup, with limited game time seen by the likes of Hardie, Thompson etc That being the case, there has been a reliance on generally the same starting 11 and 1 or 2 subs. This in itself ensures limited competition for starting spots, meaning no matter how bad the incumbents play, we do not have the squad that our manager has enough faith in to throw someone else in. Take Waggy for example - he is always 1st choice purely because Miller and Clark either are shoehorned out wide, or simply cant find the net. The defence is the same - 3 central defenders to choose from, all of whom have been up and down Wing usually reserved for McKay, Oduwa and occasionally Miller. Our wingbacks are even worse for depth The only area where we have significant depth, midfield, we seem to have an abundance of similar players, being attack minded, passing midfielders. Its clear to me that Warbs needs to ditch this mentality and get 3 or 4 players in January that he has FAITH in that will push the 1st team squad for a position and create that healthy competition required to keep everyone on their toes. He doesn't have to lose his focus on youth, he can surely being in young players, but they have to be ones he TRUSTS to do a job, and not simply youth players for the sake of it
  23. His agent claiming we are very interested and need to get a deal sorted with skonto. Believes vlad will move on in Jan and awaiting rangers to follow up interest
  24. Sensible comments from OP. Most definitely there has been a change to the tactics from opposition teams. They are creating walls of 10 defenders anytime we get near their 18 yard box, making it so difficult to break down. A couple of things as I see it: 1. We could do with another winger. Miller doesn't naturally play wide, he will usually come inside and whenever McKay and oduwa play together, they blow hot and cold. I would even consider playing wag horn wide as he has great touch and for a big guy he knows how to skin a player 2. Striker to support Waghorn. Either to potentially play middle of front 3 with Waghorn wide, or as a back up option as Clark not cutting mustard and warbs reluctance to play Hardie. 3. Look to shoot. Too often we try and play a perfect pass and over complicate things. We need to find that selfishness again and look to shoot if we are in box not look for the cute square pass
