  1. I always thought those two in midfield were awesome up until KT was injured. Perhaps Mendes appreciates what KT does as it allows him to play his game... Either that or he has just said what the fans want to hear.
  2. We've known that for years. Adam is worth £1m in todays market and Ferguson £2m..what next McGregor for £1.5m and Boogie for £3m? That is ridiculous and you know it. Adam has a left peg, that's about it. He's a pretty poor footballer. If it was the other way round, you'd be going fucking nuts at Walter for dishing out 1 million quid for Adam. As for Ferguson, a 31 year old midfielder who has been performaning averagely at best for the last 3 seasons. Are you serious? We got Edu for near that amount! We know McGregor will sell for more than 1.5 million. He has up to 10 years left in his career, made some amazing performances last season and the season before. Same for Boogie. The English Championship clubs are laughing at us! They are coming up here and taking some decent players for paltry sums... It was only the other day I read an article on Chris Burke where is manager was quoted as saying he could not believe he managed to snap him up for pennies! We as a club have a habit of splashing the cash then letting a player go for half of what we paid! I am aware of the issues regarding our club moving deadwood on for pathetic sums. But I feel the latest dealings have been done well and benefit us more than the buyers. The facts are...Adam is shite. Ferguson has been underperforming for 2 years at least and there's every chance he is finished. Roughly 2 million for these two players is a good deal. Oh, and Chris Burke was a wanker. I have no idea how he is performing but by the sounds of that, he's playing well in a poorer league. Championship is of the same level as here I guess it's a matter of opinion. But the standard of player that plays for Rangers, IMO, is much better than the likes of Adam or Chris Burke.

  5. Blue tinted specs on folks. There is no way you'd get more than 1.5 mil for Ferguson. He's 31 ffs and been underperforming for the last 2 or more seasons. And people are wanting more for Adam? The same player who most on here treat with utter contempt. Adam is a poor player, everyone knows it. 500k is a fair price.
  6. I think the amount quoted for Ferguson is pretty decent. He's 31. If Walter smith paid 1.5 million on Darcheville or any other 31 year old we'd be going mental.
  7. Next they'll be saying Naka is worth 80 million...
  8. My main point is with regards to high earners as well...I mean, is there actually anything that I can do when getting paid 200k a week that I can't do if I get paid only 150k a week? Even in your example...2k a week is a lot of money. Within one full year you could buy a decent sized house in a nice area. Just don't understand it at all.
  9. Ok then, so say you're at a Championship club, like Plymouth, earning £2,000 a week. Player X also plays for Plymouth, and you're clearly better than him, but he is paid £5,000 a week. Not really fair is it? Now, are you seriously telling me that if a club like Blackpool came in for you, offering you £6,000 a week, you wouldn't consider it, or at the very least, use it to put pressure on Plymouth to increase your wages to Player X's level? I would consider that, yes. But I couldn't give two shits about Plymouth. If it were Rangers, I wouldn't even entertain any offers from other clubs.
  10. These players rely on their fitness and health to do what they are paid to do. If players regularly fail to keep their health in check, it effects their game. It's the same with singers, they are discouraged to smoke and do certain things which may have an effect on their vocals.
  11. I don't understand the whole pay increase thing. If I was getting paid an eighth of the money some players are on these days for playing the beautiful game, and even playing for the team I love I would never even think about leaving.
  12. Similar story was made last year about the fitness of our team and the techniques they use to maintain fitness. I must admit, it sounds amazing but is it enforced? Debatable.
  13. I couldn't choose between them. Edu had as much impact on our team if not more than Thomson had. Edu was a major reason we won the league. Agree with that. I'm also excited to perhaps see both Thommo and Edu in the same lineup. From what we have seen from both of these players, they are solid and willing to get stuck in to break up play. However they can both get forward. Would be interesting, IMO, watching them take turns to push forward whilst the other holds the midfield.
  14. Due to the current circumstances I can reluctantly accept this happening, as we did with Hutton and Cuellar. However, not for 5 million. If Bougherra is going to leave, hopefully it will be after a bidding war between Wigan and Bordeaux or any other teams.
  15. The Famine is over...Why don't you go home?
  16. Think a few votes might be biased. I want to say Thommo but I am really struggling to determine who is the better player.
  17. I often play with Fiorentina but never played vs werder with them. I often play my mate who goes with Liverpool and I'm Rangers and more often than not it's a close match. Although I resort to Wattie's tactics against tougher teams 4-5-1 Loyal!
  18. No apology needed Even in this post you're still being kinda defeatist though - it's about 'hoping' about 'taking each game as it comes'. It's like we as fans seem to just expect failure or average results, so we refuse to have expectations. I absolutely reject this - I expect us to do well in the CL, and make the last 16 where this club should be. We've made the Promised Land of the group stage, and we know from the past that we can go further in this competition. How good would it feel to be in the last 16 and beyond? That is an aim, and not a hope. Not in my book - last 16 is my minimum target for next season, with the SPL close behind. Thing is, if we don't make the last 16, but give a good account of ourselves in the group stage, not many people will be calling for the manager's head, whereas if we don't win the league again next season, many people WILL be calling for his head. The other thing is, that the priority can change if we go far enough in Europe. If we had to get to the CL semi final, you can be sure that the priority at that point would be to try to get to the final. Same could maybe be said if we DO make the last 16 or quarter finals. But the point is, people don't seem to think making the last 16 is a priority. Our last showing in the Champions league had us playing in the toughest group and we performed brilliantly. If we get drawn in a group which doesn't seem as tough as 2 years ago shouldn't we expect to progress? The attitude comes across as though we are out of the competition before it has even started.
  19. Got this for the Xbox. At first look, I don't know why I paid so much money for it. May have been expecting too much. Only played it for 10 - 15 minutes. Might be worth downloading a demo or borrowing it before you buy. Hopefully it'll grow on me and the multiplayer (haven't played it online) sounds cool.
  20. Alright boys. I'll give anyone a game of Fifa if they fancy a gubbing!!!!! Xbox Gamertag - Downyleiper I also have COD5 as well and I am a bit of a mean fucker on that if I don't say so myself! Leave a message if ya add as I don't accept randomers!
  21. Do you not think for a club like Rangers we have gone too long without a European trophy? We constantly tell eachother how great we are and that we are bigger than Liverpool etc. Do you think it's acceptable that such a huge club has not won a European trophy for nearly 40 years? That in bold is it. We should be able to compete in both. Just because we succeed in one shouldn't mean we cannot in the other. I am quite confident with how our performances are going to go in Europe...And I think it will come down to Walter's tactics. I fully expect to at least reach the last 16 whilst securing title 53.
  22. Can I correct that? Rangers legend in the making! Can't wait to see him back in action.
  23. I have to say...It seems everyone is just concerned about the finances of our Club. Whilst I acknowledge that they are extremely important and needed for us to even maintain where we are, it should not have an effect on how we compete. What happened to welcoming the chase? What happened to going out to win every game. I am just thankful that players such as big Thommo do not have the same attitude towards the Champions league as some of the fans do.
