IMO McGregor showed why Walter has faith in him. He pulled off a good few cracking saves not including the penalty Yes especially the one from the left hand side that came in at pace, he's got THE GOALIE written all over him controversial, a shagger, a gambler and a player who can can win or turn a game for you. He'll do for me ! That's exactly what I want. Whilst Alexander is more than capable of coming in and doing a job, Greegs earns us points and wins. He's proved it time and again.

But why should we make the same mistake AGAIN and AGAIN and AGAIN: starting the match, too flat, too slow, too defensive. Why did it take 60 minutes to push forward and really go for it? Smith must take the blame for sending us out with the wrong mindset. And what about McCulloch? we all know he is not good enough, but still Smith plays him? Will he really learn? I think this is something we have to put up with. We know Walter relies on his the defensive side of his squads. We cannot suggest he is wrong in doing this, over the past 3 seasons, it HAS worked. Over the last 3 years I have been criticising McCulloch myself. I've hated the fact that he cannot play upfront, he cannot play on the wing and that Walter was trying to accomodate his "buddy" by playing him here, there and everywhere. However he has made a great start to the season and that is not up for debate. He was most impressive, for me, against Hearts recently when he pretty much got us back into the game with his goal and work in midfield.

I am not justifying the result or the performance. Rangers should beat all teams in the SPL. There is no excuses for below par performances. But statements such as are pointless after just 4 games. Walter will have recognised the problems with today's performance and will drill into the players what is expected of them. I am not worried about playing Stuttgart because the performance will mean that Walter needs to make it clear what everyone's job is again. It will be fresh in their heads and they will up their performance in our next game...IMO.

I always maintained that we should be qualifying for the last 16 and after being drawn in probably the best group, I am confident of doing so. I'm not suggesting it'll be a walk in the park. I just expect us to finish strong in the group we are in.

As someone else touched on...I was always under the impression that banks would only get involved in decisions within any business if that business has gone into administration. So, we are not in administration but the banks are telling our Club that they cannot offer contracts to players etc?

We never went gung-ho in the second half, the team just played really well. If we had gone all out attack the game could have been over within 10 minutes of the second half being played if Hearts struck on the counter.

At first glance I though Hutton. Fucking phenomenal player. Players just couldn't cope with his athleticism. But thinking about it, Whittaker gave good performances last season and hopefully that will improve. I believe we are in much more need of another CB than RB so it has to be King Carlos.

I've seen reports that as OP says, if winner of the tournament qualifies by their own league position then SPL champs will go straight in. Was same scenario few years ago when Barcelona won Champions League vs Arsenal and Celtic went straight into CL. Just what i have seen reported.

I think Cuellar was much more inspirational than Ferguson and is probably one of the main reasons why we reached the final. Plus THAT save. Regardless, I was not the biggest fan of Barry's. Felt he lived off his reputation for far too long and was not a leader at all. However the vindictiveness in the OP comments are continuos and getting tiring now.
