  1. There is not right or wrong answer to this. I would have voted for most on there if I had the option to. The likes of Gazza and Laudrup did have love for our great club and displayed it with their lovely footballing abilities. But I had to pick Gough. The emotion that came out of him whilst he played and specifically when he collected the 9IAR title is just immense. It showed how much the club and this title meant to him. And he was the best defender we have had for the last 15 years. There are some there that I never managed to see but have heard stories or watched clips, so like I said, most would probably be fitting to this and it is very difficult to just choose one. Anyone got a pic of Gough going to lift the title?
  2. I am very greatful for what Barry done for Rangers. I appreciate the ability he once had and displayed against world class players. He has left me with memories of which I will never forget. Although he did leave for Blackburn, he came back and stuck with us throughout one of the worst seasons we have had for some time, when he could have gone to more attractive clubs for more money. I won't regard him as a legend for Rangers, but he was a great servant to our club and helped us achieve so much. I am confident he will enjoy his time in the Premiership, proving any doubters wrong about his ability.
  3. Thanks for the memories. Great servant to our club. Best of luck, Barry.
  4. I think Thomson is a complete stand out. He has the passion and fight in him. He was playing extremely well last season. He's a Rangers man. And as someone else mentioned, has the ability to lead others. I thought about Davis earlier on in the season, however he needs to play CM. He was too inconsistent last season, although not his fault.
  5. I do believe Murray and Bain want to keep a hold of Bougherra, but whether they want the money more I do not know. If they do receive any bid from Bougherre, unless it is completely outrageous, they should refuse it immediately. This way, it might give the impression we are not selling and we keep Boogie...Or they'll come back in with another offer, knowing that they have to improve it significantly. However, I fear it'll be a case of someone making an offer and Murray trying to negotiate a few bob extra.
  6. How can they even suggest Maley was more successful? I was actually wondering this the other night as I noticed in the Hall of Fame on Football Manager 2008 Maley is ranked higher than Struth.
  7. Atleast they're being a bit realistic in know they're gonna get pumped in the CL qualifier!
  8. I enjoy Sundays. Day of rest so just chill out with a beer and watch the match. Plus I work most Saturdays!
  9. There's a slight difference though in terms of stature and the fact that Rangers are expected to be competitive in all tournaments they enter. Beckham joined the MLS to improve interest in the league and a huge wage. He didn't join as an LA Galaxy fan or to play at the top level. Everyone knew this beforehand. If he were to join Rangers, the whole interest in the league and shirt sales would be a bonus, but first and foremost any player who joins us is expected to give 110% in every game in order to win.
  10. To be honest, the problems with Barry Ferguson, IMO and I have said this for a couple of years, is his attitude. Either he thought he was Rangers, or thought he was in a position whereby he didn't need to perform consistently, or whether he thought he brought enough to the squad with his "leadership" abilities... I think a move will change this attitude and I think he may perform quite well for Birmingham.
  11. I read that as £65million over three seasons Perhaps the OF have forced SKY/ESPN to reconsider ? Is this right ? 'Cos if it is then a massive well done should be extended to Murray. Originally, 65 million over five years meant 13 million a season...However if it's 65 million over 3 years then it is a good piece of business, I just cannot see it though.
  12. Looking forward to the build of and coverage of games instead of those two biased twats from Setanta. However at £29 a month...I don't know.
  13. The sooner we leave the SPL the better. These diddy teams are holding us back in every way.
  14. Lass in JJB in Dundee said only 3 stores in Glasgow are selling them until August, then the rest of the stores will get some.
  15. He is far more effective playing the treqaurtista role than he is out on the wing, even though his managers (Lopez Caro and Luis Milla as well as Walter Smith) don't seem to think so. Aaron's major flaw is that he has no pace. For him to do damage he has to be deployed as far up the park as possible. Trequarista what the fuck is that ive lived her 24 years and never heard that before una trugua is a truce or an agreement but in football terms ive no idea. Had never heard the term before either. Apparently it's this. Going to try and throw it into casual football chat with my mates. "Everyone knows what trequartista is you imbecile" The second striker position is a loosely-defined and often misapplied one somewhere between the out-and-out striker, whether he is a target-man or more of a poacher, and the Number 10 or Trequartista, while possibly showing some of the characteristics of both. In fact, a coined term, the "nine-and-a-half", has been an attempt to define the position. Conceivably, a Number 10 can alternate as a second-striker provided that he is also a prolific goalscorer, otherwise a striker who can both score and create opportunities for a less versatile centre forward is more suited. This has been true of a natural trequartista like Roberto Baggio who seldom played in a team formation which permitted him the creative license to play as a number 10 and so he adapted himself to the second-striker role. A second- or support-striker does not tend to get as involved in the orchestration of attacks, nor bring as many other players into play as the Number 10 since they do not have the range of vision, nor the burden of responsibility that the latter, around whom the team's game is built, possess. Accordingly, neither do they have as much responsibility for inventing the game. Oh and RyanMac, I think you've got the wrong end of the stick - he was just having a laugh. I understand he was having a laugh, but i don't agree with that Having laughs? At our managers expense, no. Lol what about at your expense? I think you need to lighten up a bit matey. It was a joke in reference to Smith trying to play McCulloch CB... Let me know how the operation goes, and all that...
  16. All he is saying is we won't look to sell but if we get offers above our valuation the player will go, he is being honest. What i would like to see him say is the majority of the money would be reinvested in the team I would expect that to be the case. They are not actively trying to secure money for the bank which suggests we are currently "stable". Any money that comes in for our best players should be reinvested in trying to improve the team.
  17. But there was a minimum fee release clause in Cuellars contract. I think it's fair to be honest with you. Nobody has gone around promoting our best players for sale so I believe they genuinely are trying to keep the best players in our squad. Not so long ago they were trying to punt Boyd for 3.5 million but now we do not need to do that.
  18. Well if he does impress down there then surely his problem the last few seasons has been his attitude rather than ability.
  19. Aye - lets blame Barry for all our ills - Boyd is a grown man capable of making his own decisions and it saddens me that you can generate so much hate for Barry that you take a tenuios link and put the blame on Barry !!! arry has given a lot to this club over the years - his time may be up but we should thank him for his contribution and wish him well - its the least he deserves. I'm not suggesting Ryan is correct - although I am of the opinion Ferguson is a bad influence on our team - but Barry is Club captain. He is a role model for young fans and younger players. Kris Boyd was very young when he joined us. The whole "Kris Boyd is a grown man" is a lot of shite in regards to what Ryan was saying. People idolise Barry Ferguson because apparently he's a "Leader of men" type. And yet, when the shoe is on the other foot and people point out the bad aspects of Ferguson's influence on people it's the case of "well, they are grown men"...
  20. Read the post. I never said we should sign him. I explained why some fans would like us to sign him. It's only natural. If you had a pick between two players, both of which had the same ability and cost the same amount, but one supported Rangers and was from N ireland, you would certainly pick him. You just come across as though your ashamed of the link between N Ireland and Rangers.
  21. We probably wouldn't have received upwards of 1 mil for Ferguson and same goes for Adam. There would probably be a bigger effort from our club to see players being sold whereas at the moment, I get the impression they are waiting to be approached and will work out a deal from there. However, with the team we have I believe we would have qualified for the CL anyway, but then that's dependant on who would have been "forced" out.
  22. I don't think your post is really fair. I doubt the original poster thinks we should sign this player simply because he is from N Ireland and supports Rangers... If I think a player looks pretty good in their position and then find out they're Rangers fans it only makes buying the player more attractive. Healy for instance, good wee player, could probably do a job for us and is Ranges through and through. The sly comments he has made aimed towards Celtic or the "in your face" laugh towards Artur Boruc makes him a likeable character for Rangers fans. So it is only natural that some fans would like to see us sign him.
