  1. My dad said the Juve game at ibrox was the best rangers performance he ever saw, and he had seen them all.We should have won it that year.We were better than anybody else in that competion, including cologne.Fuckin weather, and Billy Urquart.Wee doddie was the best midfielder in europe that year.carried the rest of the team on his shoulders, and made greig look like a half decent manager for a while.Until greig shat on him , cooper, smith and others.Wee doddie should have greigs job at ibrox now. 2. Great shout big yin. That is my favourite . That was the night Barry Ferguson, for 35 mins, showed what a true world class player looked like.He took the piss out of porto. The top from that season is one of my treasures. Cheers No Surrender Rab
  3. Not ANY could have laced wee durrants boots when he came back! a midfielder who had to totally change his game to just get through games and be able to walk properly, and still manage to score that goal against marseille, and others. The man oozed class like no other scottish player ever.No player , even slim jim himself, could have reinvented himself like the wee man.Durrant for me became a more intelligent midfielder after the injury, and still by miles the best midfielder in scotland. Even when he had 2 gammy knees playing for Killie in the cup final v the tic, he was by far and away the best player on the park until they kicked him off it. So called legends like Greig and Jardine have abused and taken the piss out of the love and respect showered on them by the rangers support,by showing them nothing but contempt in return( thinking of the guy who had the stall next to greigs statue,or jardines scandalous idea of a minutes applaus for the passing of captain cutlass, he should have been shown the door for that insult alone). Wee Durrant would never duck away from a fellow bear in the street(witnessed this first hand when i was hammered drunk in glasgow),even if they were to vent their spleen at him.First and foremost, he is one of us,he got the honour to play for us. I would love to see a statue of my four heroes outside Ibrox arm in arm, with the heading "what are you doing on saturday?". the four would be Durrant, McCoist, Davie Cooper and Alex MacDonald. Hope Stevie Davis really appreciates the company he keeps every day. No Surrender Rab
  4. Great Point. Love the idea, but the guy is right. We will never be invited to england either. I have my own extreme views regarding this HMRC thing and how the gers will end up playing in england at any level, but that doesn't even bear thinking about. What needs to happen is for all of the chairmen of the other clubs to listen to Rangers and the Micks on how to re-brand scottish football, and stop their small club mentality. They had a great opportunity a couple of months ago.We should have gone like the rest of europe and had an 18 or 20 team top tier, with the league under it part time, with the proviso that if a team gets promoted to the top tier, they go full time.It worked in germany for years when i lived there, when teams were promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga, and it was fantastic, and before anybody says all the teams are shite and their grounds are pish, what about a really abstract idea where a scottish government put in millions into the infrastructure of the game, funding the building of new grounds for those who can't afford it, on a loan basis perhaps, instead of wasting millions on hot air and sound bytes, and arresting boys every weekend for shouting the wrong thing at the match. Put the pressure on Salmond and his crew of trannies to earn their fuckin keep for a change. The day that guy says his government is going to invest half a billion pound into our only real passion in scotland, and genuinely try to save it from oblivion, then i may try to look at him in a different way.He did so much harm to the scottish game down here when he got involved after the parkhead debacle, it may never recover. It's time he put it right, and get ambitious young upstarts who want to really want to make themselves heroes to a nation to work tirelessly to sell it to the TV and market it around the world. We have the best derby in the world, unique in it's history, sell that to the world anyway you can just for a start then just keep digging in for the rest. I don't want to play in england, even though it would be so much easier fo me to see the bears playing away more often. I'm living in dreamland, that i think that somebody could care so much for the game to really give it a go.But how i wish it was true.I want Rangers to always be champions of Scotland first and foremost. At least until every other idea has been exhausted.Lots of those high up in the scottish hierarchy are so quick to slaughter the game and those that follow it, but nobody is willing to put their head on the chopping board to help it, or indeed change it. Scotland The Brave? Go on Salmond, prove it.Put the money in, or just stop fuckin interfering in the peoples game. Go on ya wee fat coward. No Surrender Rab
  5. Never stopped following on despite those 2, and i know your perception of those who did.Shame on you sir for comparing Rangers to Liverpool, who will only move to another premises to latch onto the tails of Man U, who have pulled away from them because Liverpool didn't expand their capacity when they were the best team in europe by a mile. If they did, then they wouldn't be crying into their giro's because united don't even consider them rivals now. Renaming would bring us in max 20 million, not even 3/4 what LFC paid for that poor man,s duncan ferguson Carroll. I'll stick with Ibrox thanx. No Surrender Rab
  6. Pull the red glove out of my shorts, put it on and salute the Copland with tears of pride in my eyes. When asked after the game why, i would say i'm a proud protestant rangers player who had been dying to do that all my life, and then ask precisely actually what i had done wrong? After all, i had been listening to songs glorifying terrorists who had maimed innocent british people for years for the last 90 mins, ask them to justify that before you question me chick ya baldy wee apologist bassa! 7. stars will come and go, mainly go. the tax case will probably go against us. i would still prefer to be at IBROX supporting the rangers in the scottish 3rd division, with a load of 16-17 year olds playing for the gers, singing my heart out on the slopes of IBROX, rather than watch a bunch of foreign mercenaries bleeding the club dry, with no idea of what the club means to the legions who have supported us through thick and thin.and believe me i've seen the thin pre souness and murray. I would never boo the boys off if they gave it their best and lost. I feel those that want to rename IBROX are those that arrive late and leave early at IBROX for home games so they can take their burd to IKEA before it shuts. If we rename IBROX, we will have finally sold out. After signing MoJo and Kenny Miller having worn the hoops of the unwashed, those were almost a death knell for the rangers support.some of you lot would sell your soul for glory, maybe it's time we had a REAL reality check to seperate the glory hunters from the bears who follow follow regardless how bad it gets. IBROX is our home, it really is the one thing we should try to hang on to. lose that, we are in real trouble. Could not give a fuck if you don't agree, or slag my post. Wish all the glory hunters who want a quick fix , and some rich arab to come in and blast millions at the club so we can get out of the group stage of the CL would get to fuck, stop moaning and go and watch the EPL on the TV in the pub on saturday's. NO SURRENDER(more than ever) Rab
  8. Well said minstral.Should always be Ibrox only.Look at what that prick mike ashley has done to Newcastle. The Sports Direct stadium. Good God! No Surrender Rab
  9. Fuckin magic post. moved to germany when i was a wee boy, but stayed a true blue.Missed Ibrox everyday. Get up as much as i can afford. Some take going every week for granted and maybe don't appreciate it, that fellow bears from far and wide would tear their balls off to be able to do the same. great post man No Surrender Rab
  10. Could never criticize Arsenal DV for anything young player related. I would say as a whole they are streets ahead of anybody else in that department, in fact throughout my chats with the boys on saturday, i found it almost impossible to say anything negative at all, the joy of being neutral i suppose, But it is a shadow of the invincible team DV, Walcott is terrible one on one, RVP hates playing with his back to goal, but Sagna was class, and i always thought he was a bit of a diddy on the tv, just shows ye really. No Surrender Rab
  11. As i didn't have a ticket for the DU game on saturday i decided to pop down to the emirates to watch Mikel Arteta's debut for arsenal, taking the advantage of a friends season ticket. As i took my seat in the clock end, i asked this big fella what seat number he was in, he replied in not a north london accent 751. I was located next to him in seat 750, thinking christ, this big welsh guy is massive, hope he doesn't kick off. I needn't have worried. On saturday i met 2 guys, both friends, Simon James of Arsenal, and Gary Nicholas of Swansea, work colleagues who were taking advantage of Simon's dad's match tickets.Sitting next to them was a pleasure. I told them i was going to do a match report of the game on RM, the game failed to live up to expectation but the views of 2 honest football supporters who clearly love their club made much more interesting listening. If you would please not dismiss this post but read on, both parties said similar stuff that we all post every week on here, and indeed , for different reasons, what is happening at arsenal is almost a mirror image of what has been happening at Ibrox for years. As we shared our pints at half time(please get a petition going to bring this back in scotland), we got talking about the clubs aspirations.Simon freely admitted that due to the spending power of united, City and Chelsea, really only 3 teams could now win the Premier League, and arsenal are not one of them, surely a depressing admission for a team that drag 60k fans through the gates every week.He has seen his side sell all their best players, and replace with cheaper, not so good ones( sound familiar bears). His love for the arsenal will never diminish, but felt that the support was being taken for a ride a bit, as the season book prices are on the up(Sound familiar bears?). But he did refuse to put the blame at AW's door. Big Gary on the other hand was nothing but positive about the Jack's fortunes.Their Chairman is a legend to their fervent support. They had been fucked about from pillar to post in their years in the wilderness, being sold to people who had no interest in the club's fortunes. So much so that they nearly never had a club at all(This is still a big worry for this bear with the Gers). In stepped this guy Huw Williams, and turned it all round. They gradually started climbing the leagues with more sound footing, and eventually Swansea City Council built the magnificent 22000 seater Liberty Stadium they share with the Ospreys rugby team. Every time Swansea play at the ground, they pay the Council just 55k, they take far more than that through the gates every week, they are on a winner.when i asked Gary if being in the PL was evrything to the Swans,he replied it was a dream, but so was playing in the Championship, and he really hoped that the Chairman stayed sensible with the money, and not throw millions at staying in the topflight,as the Jack's fans a realists and are very wary of the past. They choose not to forget the bad times,so it makes the good times even sweeter.i could go on all night about the conversations the 3 of us had on Saturday, but i would like to concentrate if i may on the Swans Away support. 3000 of them made a noise not dissimilar to the Bears away support, they got behind their team from start until well after the final whistle had been blown, their team deserved it as well, even though arsenal deserved their win( sorry Gal). But their was one moment in the game that will live long in my memory. As the swans took a second half corner, the support let out a lung bursting rendition of land of my fathers for the umpteenth time, but this time it was so loud that welsh international defender Ash Williams turned to them and looked at them with total respect and awe. When was the last time one of our "superstars " did that. They choose not to follow their team not with blind faith and for a good time, ala Norwich City, these are a real hard core tight knit support in unison who have seen everything at their club, and them, more than the team, deserve the good times and success. Sounds like our support away from Ibrox eh boys. Arsenal need to listen to their supporters clubs, not only in terms of giving the manager the funds to sign the world class players this superb institution of a club deserve( Like us), but to also let their massive fan base have a say in where they can sit with likeminded gooners to stand to sing their hearts out, again similar to our home support. Finally Gary and Simon, thanks for the beer , hospitality and honesty Hope you bears took a couple mins to read. No Surrender Rab
  12. Le Guen was and still is an arrogant prick. was fortunate to have a great side at lyon. He has fucked up every other job he has had since. Get over it. they should be training twice a day though like every other country in europe.don't have to be a snotty frenchman to work that out No Surrender Rab
  13. wee wylde was only one of 3 who got pass marks from me last night, think you are being harsh to the boy.always wanted the ball.Don't think you know what you are on about to be honest. No Surrender Rab
  14. we don't need cheerleaders mate. me and you put our rangers scarves on every week, and whereas i love the fact that wee vlad loves us, so do i , and so does wee nacho novo , and jonny evans, and peter leven, and derek macinnes, warren feeney and craig cathcart et al. Weiss is a one trick pony, gregg wylde is far superior on both wings. we have tied him up for 4 years. let's enjoy that No Surrender Rab
  15. Bobby Russell for 10 million? Would have been a snip at 20 mate.just look at that fuckin nasri. what has he done. BR was the best midfielder along with Alex macDonald i had seen in 20 years in scotland. No Surrender Rab
  16. This above everything else is true. The man hated celtic and everything they stand for. He told me and my cousin so when i met him as a 5 year old at the albion before my first rangers game. Some on here would say that attitude is detremental to our club, i would say that attitude sets our club apart from the rest. RIP JOCK No Surrender Rab
  17. and certainly not the first time you have brought someone else's shortcomings to the fore with your intellectual superiority, which is so obvious to everyone. The Goalie is spot on Weiss lived off a quick free kick against celtic for months. Came up short more often than not. Much the same as you No Surrender Rab
  18. Get him tied up! i've always said the boy will come good. Boy is class, him , naisy and davis are the future for the gers.get him signed before his head gets turned No Surrender Rab
  19. at work . brilliant news man.boy is class. is it confirmed yet? No Surrender Rab
  20. really don't like the " ally said we had a strong squad that won the league last year" quote. it's like a garden path quote from an educated man, who has quoted one line from a 10 minute conversation that probably started with" you have to get bodies boss, these boys played nearly every game for the past 3 years and they are fucked, and the season has only just started. i gave you a list of players who were not too expensive, and i only have a quarter of them.judge me everybody when we have them all, not before. Ally will be a great Rangers manager given time. Jury is out on whyte if he can deliver. No Surrender Rab
  21. 1999 when me and ma cousin fought like snipes and van damme against the taigs after winning the league at their dump, and novos pen in fiorentina. but really it was back in 86-87 when super scored the equaliser at parkhead in a one all draw in my first visit there that still gives me goosebumps, the roar that went up was unbelievable.after the game ma dad said" better no tuck yer colours in on the way home or ye'll no be back wi me" .i'll take it to the grave. we've all had weans, nothing better' but it's a supporters forum gents, so elaborate, yer wife isnae watching No Surrender Rab
  22. That game started a fuckin riot in my house when my dad got home. was never allowed to go to the rangers-celtic games as a wee boy, but i had all my mates round for that one.me and my pals were fuckin really desperate after the game as the charging began to unfold on the pitch, my mum came in wi the rolls and said "never mind boys we'll beat the bastards next time, fuckin shower of shite". As she turned her back, sure as fuck there they were" look maw theres ma da and uncle tommy!". chargin the sellick like a couple of loonies. she went fuckin mental! I was a hero at school on the monday. my dad got a crystal ashtray thrown at him as he walked in the door that night, missed his head by an inch and stuck in the kitchen door. I followed in his footsteps in the late 80's and early 90's. HMS and ICF loyal No Surrender Rab
  23. A team heavily criticized, a support ripped to bits by the media the length and breadth of the nation, the vain, disgusting attempts to derail the integrity of all things football by the unwashed of the east end,not to mention the pressure the boys must have felt had they blown it all once they got their noses back in front.Nothing could stand in this teams way. They have been truly magnificent. i have seen maybe better players that have donned the blue jersey, but i'm really struggling to think of a better team. others , maybe more educated than me will disagree. i say this for one reason only. I've watched rangers teams in the past in the same situation struggle to get over the line, although they almost always have. But the verve, panache and character to which this team did it for the last 5 games will stay in my memory forever, they just simply blew teams away with their sublime at times, one touch attacking football, getting the ball wide , into the box and the finishing when it had to be was fuckin quality. We produced football in 30 minute spurts that no team in europe would have wanted to play against.Me and my boy just watched in awe yesterday. That explosive start was something i've never seen before. It reminded me of arsenal with bergkamp, henry and pires up front when they had the invincibles. Jelavic, lafferty and naismith just had that telepathic understanding between the 3 of them. After the despair i felt after the Ne'erday game, i never expected anything like it. I'm so proud today,as is my son, as i'm sure you all are as well. Our motto " aye ready" could have been made for this team. No Surrender for sure. I've always been so proud to be a bear, but surely yesterday was my proudest. This title, for so many reasons, meant more than any other. the players, management, and most important of all, the entire badly teated support stood together to a man(and women), and smashed us over the line.Songs in unison from what was a terribly divided support, fills my heart with so much joy. We are back, together as one once again.I hope you all feel the same.Thank you Rangers. I love you. No Surrender Rab
  24. That seal is fuckin quality man ha ha ha ha. Remember the pigeon thread after the st mirren cup final boys? that was the best thread ever on RM, but the seal heading the goal in the final, and in particular this ane wi the emotionally unbalanced one, priceless, totally priceless. The Rangers scarf man ha ha ha ha ha. No Surrender Rab
