  1. Thompson did I think now but Ginzberg did so thats another one plus Niemi ? I ommited Niemi thinking DA had signed him, but no, Smith did. Niemi didn't play during NIAR, he only played during 1997/98. I think. No he's NIAR and so is Nicky Walker ! Niemi signed for Rangers on 20 June 1997, and made his competitive debut on 23 July against Gotu in a Champions League Qualifier. That means he made his debut in what would have been the 10-in-a-row season. IMO, he doesn't qualify as NIAR, even if Walter did sign him. http://www.geocities.com/Colosseum/field/2968/niemi2.html
  2. I wish people would just stop with the 'suggestions'. It is so irritating, coming on here seeing a name and thinking 'cool, some transfer activity', only for the post to contain 'I think he would be a mega signing, would be cheap'. That is Walter and Ally's job. Some kind of seperation would certainly be welcome.

  4. NOT McCulloch - I so hope NOT! Well, I hope not too but it seems inevitable. Doesn't it?
  5. IF, we sign this fella for the reported fee, then it's a sign of how far our spending power has fallen that I'm jittery about us spending such a large sum on one player, whereas eight-nine years ago I would have considered it normal. If he is a success and he turns out to be the sort of player that dominates the SPL then the fee will be worth it - we need all the pace, creativity and width we can get. But, let's say we acquire de Beasley for ~£700k, or even £1.5m. I would call that a good deal. Under those cirumstances, surely a £4m player at Ibrox these days would be under intense pressure (rightly so, I guess, for that sort of money), to perform and perform bloody well at that? Unless he turns out to be another Laudrup, he'll be under threat of being labelled a flop from the word go. I'm not saying that's how it should be but, let's face it, that's how it will be. Expectations here are so high (as they should be), but in this day and age, if we spend +£4m on a player they're only going to be accepted by the supporters if they are superstars. I doubt that Faubert is. On the other hand, I'm just glad to see us looking at anyone other than the likes of McCulloch as a serious quality option!
  6. Kin ye get BBC 2 doon there <yes> Naw ye canny !!!! Watching it right now - 'Escape to the Country'
  7. Nope, highly unlikely - unless Tessa Jowell rejects the recommendations of the CAP. The regional casino City of Manchester Recommendations (large casinos) We recommend the following areas for the licensing of the eight large casinos to be permitted by the Act: ? Borough of Great Yarmouth ? City of Kingston-upon-Hull ? City of Leeds ? Borough of Middlesbrough ? City of Milton Keynes ? London Borough of Newham ? Borough of Solihull ? City of Southampton Recommendations (small casinos) We recommend the following areas for the licensing of the eight small casinos to be permitted by the Act: ? Bath and North East Somerset District ? Dumfries and Galloway District ? East Lindsey District ? Borough of Luton ? Borough of Scarborough ? County Borough of Swansea ? Borough of Torbay ? Metropolitan Borough of Wolverhampton http://www.culture.gov.uk/Cap/publications...tcap_300107.pdf Glasgow either had to be granted the Regional Casino, or it got nothing. Note that the same applies to Blackpool, Greenwich, Sheffield, Cardiff, Newcastle etc. It is possible, of course, that Glasgow could benefit from a second round of licences being granted, in which case, if it wants a Large or Small casino instead of a Regional one, it would have to make that clear in its application. However;
  8. Kin ye get BBC 2 doon there <yes>
  9. I live in Stranraer (where the D&G casino will be placed) and the bid centres on the idea that, as Northern Ireland will have no casino, plenty of folks folks will take the trip on the boat for the weekend. Whether it will work out like that, I don't know. j1mgg, I don't know what you are talking about. There are two cinemas in Dumfries as well as one in Newton Stewart and one in Stranraer.
  10. I don't imagine that Scott McDonald would carry too hefty a price tag. He would offer good bang for the buck.
  11. At ?1m (if that's true) then this is they type of player we really have to go for. Also, he's not a geriatric I'll be watching keenly to see how this one develops. I'm also pleased that he would be 'flattered' by our interest - he knows we're a big club and Brian Laudrup's influence could just sway it.
  12. Ricksen was a decent right back. To be honest, I'd even welcome Alex Cleland into this team.
