  1. The stain on his record was 3rd place in his last season. Even if he had only taken us to 2nd in 05/06, I reckon he'd be held in higher esteem now than he really is.
  2. Yep, stability is so important and our own exeriences tell us that. During 9IAR, sure, players came and went but mainstays like Goram, Gough, Brown, Robertson, McCall, Ferguson, Durie, Hateley and McCoist gave us continuity. Rangers Football Club has become a constantly revolving door for mediocre players and it doesn't look like that's going to change.
  3. I'd rather have Cleland at RB than Broadfoot or Whttaker...........
  4. He gave so much to Rangers and he's one of us now. You were being used Gazza and you always will be, but never by us Bears
  5. RB problem solved in an instant but we just can't compete with EPL clubs for wages.
  6. Welcome to the world of Rangers in 2009. Compare these two to the types of players we bought (Mols and Tugay) and were linked to in 1999. What a shit decade.
  7. Oh christ, they were awful I heard Wilkie failed a medical, I hope he wasn't even getting one. I'd take Cleland at RB before Clubfoot and Whittaker any day.
  8. The left surely? I'm not trying to be a smart arse, just such a vivid memory because it was a great night and a fantastic goal. YouTube Vid It was the left....Im getting old ! Goal No. 29 of the season for McCoist and it was early November. Superb! I really like how pissed off Brian Moore sounds throughout. In 20 years of following Rangers, that's up there as a contender for the happiest moment for me.

  10. I'm delighted with this weekend's turn of events but I can't help but feel that we will have turned yet another lowly side over at Ibrox only to suffer a reverse on our travels the next week. I think that the Dundee Utd fixture is crucial psychologically as well as for the points, not just for the players but for Celtic and us Bears too. It could be a season-defining game
  11. My first thought was Ian McColl had played at two world cups in 1954 and 1958 but of course we had no players present in '54, forgot all about that.
  12. I'm from a small rural community in the south-west of Scotland, no ties at all to Glasgow and certainly not to Northern Ireland but my late Grandfather, who died 2 years ago, brought both my Dad and I up as Rangers fans. His ancestors were Bears too and all his brothers still are. I'd love to know how it started I used to watch Rangers games on TV with him and have fantastic memories - he'd burst into song along with the fans at the game or, if it was quiet, start singing randomly himself. He was deeply upset when we lost 10-in-a-row, said it we'd probably never get another chance and told me to savour the decade that had just passed because it wouldn't always be like that. How right he was.
  13. Broadfoot is not sufficiently good enough at RB. It's not what he does, as far as defending is concerned he's ok, it's what he doesn't do. Fullbacks that can offer support to the midfield and provide width are so important, particularly in a team that is so lacking in natural width as we are at the moment. He's a serious weak link at fullback. The same applies to Papac although I feel he is a little better.
  14. Particularly the latter, Novo's finishing was rotten but JCD was awful in every sense.
  15. I don't think he's a tim, actually - the kind of nonsense flowing from his direction is more like that from an Aberdeen fan, or a supporter of a similar provincial Scottish club. I lived in Aberdeen for five years and this was the sort of thing I heard from the yocals on a daily basis. Still an utter cunt though.
  16. That article was less about Miller than it was Boyd being nothing more than a small-time player, in his opinion. Certainly, the writer is no admirer of either.
  17. No, we are not, but we are a British team. That is an indisputable fact, so why can't we celebrate it? It's time you were jogging on.
