  1. Nigel Pearson in? Neil McCann as a number 2 to someone?
  2. Aberdeen haven't won at Ibrox in 25 years. If they beat us on the 3rd December then the management will be under pressure!
  3. Best to stay in Inverness as not many decent hotels in Dingwall. Can catch a train from Inverness to Dingwall for match day which takes 25 mins
  4. It's a shame he will most likely have Kiernan in front of him. Really hoping to see hill and Wilson start on Sunday
  5. Certain starters I reckon are: Wes Tav Wallace Kiernan Miller Forrester Barton Mckay
  6. I can't quite get my head around Wilson. He was outstanding when he was at us first time around. Albeit he was playing alongside David Weir. Struggling to understand how he has become so poor.
  7. Matt Crooks seems to have flown under the radar. Probably because he hasn't been fit since he arrived. I actually forgot all about him. Does anybody think he might be a solution for centre back? I see he can play defensive mid also but hopefully most of you agree that Barton and Rossiter will be more than enough for this position. From what I've seen and read Crooks is quicker than what we have, is good with the ball at his feet and is 6ft 4
  8. I've been reading a lot of articles this week from pundits and the predictions on the league winners. Not one of them predicting us to win the league. Have they not learnt from last seasons Old Firm Semi Final not to write us off? I'm tired hearing the gap is too big between us and the premier league. I can't wait until we prove everyone wrong this season. Yes there will be a few hiccups along the way but we can win this league. The wee team from Glasgow are poor and Aberdeen are known bottlers. Hearts might get the odd win against us but they are nothing to fear and have virtually no experience of winning the league. Aye Ready, We Welcome the Chase.
  9. who is giving 150/1 for the treble?
  10. I recognize I am maybe getting carried away but just got 50/1 on us for the domestic treble. I don't think it is completely unrealistic. Albeit I am biased Thoughts?
  11. We are a little lightweight due to injuries. The bench won't be it's strongest. However there is no reason why we can't get a win. Play like we did against Dundee and we will be fine. I am predicting sheils will replace forrester. We do tend to play better when the media label us underdogs. Dundee and Kilmarnock games are examples of that.
  12. Imagine that a Rangers fan of 30 years, daring to watch and have an affinity to my smaller ex highland league local team. Even worse imagine me celebrating when my small local team scored against Rangers biggest rivals and feeling sad when Celtic beat my small local team. You are so restrained by your narrow mindedness and fickle outlook. No one on this forum post seems to be in agreement with you and it would appear that nobody else shares your immature opinion. It doesn’t offend me that you find it weird. What is weird to you is perfectly normal to others. For example… This may come as a surprise to you but it is normal, acceptable and tolerated in the Scottish Highlands for fans of Ross County, Inverness, etc. to additionally support Old Firm teams. This is especially true of age groups 30 and above because the highland teams were so small when these age groups were growing up. Naturally people from the Highlands would support the bigger teams such as Aberdeen, Rangers and celtic. I have attempted to explain this previously but your simple mind obviously cannot grasp it. As stated previously I don’t need to justify myself to you and your perceived idea of what a Rangers fan is. My original post was simply providing a factual eye witness account and information about the Celtic fans behaviour in Dingwall and my disgust at them. As for saying there were celtic “fans” outside of the stadium signing songs. This was purely stating facts. Some “fans” defiantly chose not to enter the stadium until the minute silence was over. They however decided to disrupt the silence by singing from outside the stand. Again you have interpreted this wrong and misunderstood. I am not defending them whatsoever. I post infrequently on this forum and if this is the reaction I get from a fellow Gers fan I think I will avoid posting in the future. Arguing and bickering is monotonous and there is no reasoning with a stubborn, backward ignoramus.
  13. I was at the game yesterday as my local team is Ross County. I was disgusted to witness a group of Celtic "fans" waving an Argentina Flag and signing "Argentina" throughout the game. I can only assume this is in relation to the Falklands War? These same fans were dressed all in black and had their faces covered to clearly avoid detection. I was observing them throughout the game and the "fans" weren't remotely interested in watching the football. They also held on to the ball on several occasions when it went into the crowd. There was also a group of Celtic "fans" outside of the stadium who were signing throughout the minutes silence. This all took place two hours after a Remembrance Service on Dingwall High Street. The Global Energy Stadium is small and it would be very straightforward for Celtic and the authorities to do some investigative work in order to find the protesters. I am not surprised at this behavior but i am disgusted that these "fans" were not thrown out of the stadium. There was plenty of police and stewards throughout the stadium. Additionally there were police with video cameras. I am also annoyed that there has been no publicity or vilification regarding the Argentina flag. To make matters worse the BBC have decided to continue it's Rangers witch hunt and write a story on 20 Rangers fans causing trouble on a Manchester to Glasgow train.
  14. The BBC's Liam McLeod's bias and lack of neutrality in the game was unprofessional. Throughout the game there seemed to be an overriding sense of him almost willing Saints to score in his tone and delivery. I think i am open minded and objective but McLeod's commentary was intolerable. This is my observation and nothing to do with being a sore loser.
  15. Stokes backs Celtic to catch Rangers Anthony Stokes is confident Celtic can make up a 10-point gap and overhaul fierce rivals Rangers at the top of the Scottish Premier League. "It's going to be tough, no doubt but I think we are well capable of doing it," said the striker. "There is so long left in the season and we have a lot of Old Firm games before the end of the season so we can definitely get the points back. "We have to focus on going on a good run and winning every game." Celtic are also one point behind second-placed Motherwell, although Neil Lennon's men have a game in hand - against Dunfermline - over the Steelmen and Rangers. Stokes scored in Celtic's League Cup quarter-final win over Hibernian at Easter Road on Wednesday and the Irishman has taken great heart from an impressive second-half performance. As he prepares to face his former club again on Saturday, Stokes believes Celtic can build on the 4-1 victory in Edinburgh. "I think the second-half last night was the best we have played this season," he enthused. "It has been slowly coming in the last few weeks, we are all feeling that we are getting back to our best and I think we showed. "We didn't defend as well as we could in the first half but in the second half we were outstanding and dominated the game. Continue reading the main story I always found at Hibs that if you were playing against Celtic or Rangers, that takes a bit out of you Anthony Stokes "The difference was that the passing was slicker and we were more clinical. "But we have to be more consistent with our performances." Celtic may have easily swept Hibs aside to overcome a 1-0 half-time deficit but Stokes remains wary of Colin Calderwood's erratic side. "They are coming to our place and we will fancy ourselves," he added. "If we can perform anything like we did in the second half last night I am sure we will be okay. "What killed them last night was that we came out early in the second-half and scored. "I always found at Hibs that if you were playing against Celtic or Rangers, that takes a bit out of you. "If they go ahead at a crucial time of the game then it's hard. "But there might be less pressure on them going to Parkhead because I know what it's like playing at Easter Road, when the crowd are on your back it can be a hard place to play. "So they have nothing to lose and we will have to be on top form." http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/15486291.stm We welcome the chase!!
  16. What is the official trophy count that walter smith has won? Saw half a banner at the game today but couldn't make it out. Chears
  17. Just read on sky sports news that Burnely have released Steven Caldwell. Why do I have an awful feeling that he is a defender that Walter Smith will look at?
  18. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/s...rem/8285356.stm Uh oh
  19. Agreed. Whittaker is the weakest of our defenders. His positioning is poor. For example look at his positioning for the goal we conceded against Hearts last weekend. He is often caught out of position meaning Bougherra has to cover for him. I also think Whittaker is not agressive enough to be a defender. He looks half hearted in his approach. I do fear Mcgeady will have a field day against Whittaker during the next Old Firm game. Yes Whittaker scores a few goals. However he needs to sharpen up his defending, he will get found out in the Champions league I fear. Maybe he will prove me wrong. I hope he does as he does have other good attributes to his game, for example dribbling and scoring.
  20. I can 100% agree with this article. I am going to Australia in November with my girlfriend. We are going away for 8 months. I'm excited but I'm going to miss Rangers more than my family. I've worked out that I'll see the first 3 champions league games but I will miss the remainder. Also I will miss the rest of the season. Totally gutted. However I will be spending Christmas 09 on Bondi Beach. The thought of that chears me up :-)
  21. This may seem quite trivial to some of you but interesting to get peoples thoughts. Walter Smith has been quoted recently saying Kevin Thomson needs games in order to up his match fitness. However Kevin Thomson was not in the Squad that beat Airdire 3-0 in a bounce game on Tuesday. Why is this? Surely this would have been an ideal game for Thomson to play in
