Laudrup and Guardiola coach their teams in the same way they played the game, with a highly technical approach. It could be argued that McCoist has yet to impart any defined coaching style upon Rangers, despite having been involved in the coaching side for a number of years.
Also both Laudrup and Guardiola played for the cream of Europe, under some of the best coaches on the continent, so in that time I'm sure they picked up some very good habits and methods that are holding them in good stead in their coaching careers. In contrast, having proved disappointing in England, McCoist played his entire career in the league that we're continually told is a footballing backwater, with the years spent where he might be looking beyond a playing career spent under Walter Smith and Bobby Williamson, hardly coaching visionaries.
However, he didn't even look like taking the path into management, preferring to try his hand at cracking the acting world (and failing), hosting a chat show (terrible), punditry (decent) and finally proving successful as a team captain on a comedy quiz show. So given this career path, which I would argue is unlike any successful football manager, plus the fact that his own antics on the touchline and interview comments play up to this 'cheeky chappy' and 'dressing room joker' stereotype, is it any wonder that many Rangers fans use this against him when assessing his qualities as Rangers Manager?
Also if you're looking at Guardiola and Laudrup as an example to aspire to, both of them look fit enough to resume their playing careers tomorrow. McCoist looks like he's carried the same fitness and lifestyle routine enjoyed during his playing days into his management career, which again makes question marks over the fitness of our squad understandable,

Oh my goodness. This poor sap thinks no-one can control the destiny of the club without owning 51% of the shares. And I clearly don't understand these things? OK then.
The sum total of your argument when people point out McCoist's failings is, "You don't like Ally, do you?". It's not even juvenile, it's infantile. Laughable, as you might say, if you could spell it.

new owners l:lol:? What does that mean, seriously? The fact that a controlling interest in Rangers is about to end up in the hands of fuck knows who is amusing to you, is it?
And while we're at it, nobody has ever "went on" to do anything. Some good players have gone on to become good managers but many, many more have failed. I can't think of any one of the 9IAR legends less suited to club management than Ally McCoist, apart from maybe Andy Goram.
As I said before his appointment, Ally McCoist succeeding Walter Smith as Rangers manager is as absurd a managerial appointment as Ian Wright succeeding Arsene Wenger as Arsenal boss.

McCoist showed determination and ambition to prove himself as a Rangers striker after suffering several lengthy form slumps throughout the first few years of his Rangers career. People forget how poor a player he looked in his early days, pale & skinny, poor touch, far too easily brushed off the ball. I remember a caller to the Record Hotline stating correctly that McCoist broke up more Rangers attacks than all opposing defenders combined. It was after 84 that he bulked up and started to look like a Rangers player. Two hat-tricks against Celtic in 84 & 86 probably saved his Rangers career. But you can't question his achievements once Souness hit his stride.
However, all the above has nothing to do with McCoist's very evident lack of managerial ability. The history of the game is littered with brilliant players who couldn't manage for shit; Bobby Charlton, Alan Shearer, Bryan Robson, Roy Keane. All outstanding players, massively determined, who became terrible managers. McCoist has shown nothing to suggest he'll ever hack it as a manager of any club, let alone Rangers. His public utterances convince me he's wasting his time and ours, he'll never succeed as Rangers manager if he means anything he says.
Once we know who will take charge of the club next, I'd be astonished if the new owners don't see this and act very early on.

Playing with 1 striker and 2 defensive midfielders at Ibrox against part time footballers is not underestimating them

Aw I know. I expected a culture shock at the beginning and some poor performances. But it's the lack of progression that has worried me the most. We seem to have gone backwards.

I really don't want another ally debate however the bit from Rae....he wanted 5/6 players to give the supporters good football????? I mean do these guys think we are all clueless bottom feeders, yes there are some out there who buy into shit like that but c'mon this is embarrassing!
We are playing on a part time league with a massive budget and full time training....if ally can't get the best out of the players we have and introduce a higher level of performance and style of play then that's his fault....his signing record hasn't been the best so what guarantees are there these other 5/6 players would have made a difference? Also we are only allowed a certain amount of over 21's registered for the SFL so it was unworkable to bring in all these players....also our wage budget is astronomical at the moment for where we are and we are expected to feel sorry for ally when he wanted to increase that even more with no doubt more overpriced wasters!
Sorry but ally needs to get the finger out on the training field and develop the style of play and increase the demands on the players instead of he and his mates moaning about signings!

Can't get my head around this.
Every Rangers supporter went through one of the worst, if not the worst time in our clubs' history.
We all witnessed the wrath of bigotry and sheer hatred over the summer from the SPL clubs, and Dundee United were up there at the top.
Everyone of us on this forum stated quite rightly that we wouldn't forgive and forget, that in the past we have been way too passive, and now it was time to 'strike back'.
And the boycott of their stadium was a wonderful show of intent; displaying that we won't line the pockets of those who were verbose in their undying hatred of us, and it would demonstrate that the Glasgow Rangers had at last a rampant lion once again.
But I fear with several hundred supporters going, it shows a complete lack of cohesion; that we are back to the usual ways.
What fucking message is it to the rest of the mob that we rightly pronounce that no fans will go to tannadice, and now we have an away support that shows up your average away support for any SPL game?
Seriously, it's undoing the fucking message!
I appreciate people want to get behind the team, but by not going to the game, you actually ARE getting behind the team, and showing more support!

The thing that makes the song so special and so loud and euphoric is the "Hullo Hullo" part. It really gets the emotions stirring.
The lines "Up to our knees in fenian blood" and "Bridgeton Billy Boys" are incidental.
I don't believe for one minute that the Offended Ones wanted this song banned because of those lyrics, but if we remove Fenian then they will just focus on Billy Fullerton.
They wanted it banned because they had no response to it,
If the Scum were singing their songs in praise of terrorists and mass murdering child killers and we struck up with Hullo Hullo, It silenced them and drowned them out. That is why they hated it so much.
It is easily the greatest and loudest football anthem and it should never be lost.

I sent an e-mail to strathclyde Police earlier asking about TBB and what the Police reaction would be if the lyrics were changed.
    I recieved a reply within 5 minutes.

    Mr *********,
Thank you for your enquiry to contactus which has been passed to me as Deputy Director of the Football Coordination Unit for Scotland.
The lyrics you have suggested below as the amended Billy Boys would not result in my team seeking to take action against those singing them.
I cannot speak for the comments of others on what would or would not constitute an offence.
If you or your fellow fans require guidance on any proposed lyrics my team are available to discuss them with you. Alternatively you can contact the Rangers Fans Working Group and they could raise the matter on your behalf.
I hope this answers your query but feel free to contact me again if you need any more information.
    Regards
    Marian Maclean

Enquiry: I have been reading today on Twitter numerous comments regarding the singing of The Billy Boys by Rangers fans and an attempt to revive this song (without the alleged offensive words) and I quote " Up to our knees in fenian blood"
Most Rangers fans are in agreement about changing the words of the song back to the original football song which bears no resemblence to the song associated with Billy Fullerton.
    The Lyrics are as follows
Hello we are the Rangers Boys
Hello Hello you’ll know us by our noise
    We Follow Glasgow Rangers
Our Hearts are Strong and True
For ‘We are the People’ who Cheer the boys in Blue !
Then we get this from Peter Smith, an STV journalist

@AGMcKillop @spacegirlgail @JohnDCGow @williammcmurdo I have spoken to police who tell me word or line changes for TBB would not be accepted
