  1. That is fuckin quality! just a shame it never came off, but absolutely minted idea. Im sure Lafferty and Sasa done a similar one last season.......but didnae mean it
  2. Welcome to The Champions sir!!! Do us, and yourself, proud. WATP!
  3. Good point by the OP. Many players do, however, say that despite Ally's fun side, he has a really serious side to him - the fun/joking stops and the business starts - so he must be learning where the line is between seriousness and fun. Despite some of the comments here, i genuinely like the way Ally comes across in interviews - he is sharp, clever, speaks fluently (unlike Mowbray and lemmon) and again he is serious/fun at the right moments throughout the interview. Yes, he has alot still to learn. But he's learning from one of the best, and seems to be adapting in the manner everyone at Rangers Football Club wants him to. On a side note - i personally think, as he was always attack-minded, i do see our approach to games following similar suit, as opposed to the cautious way we tend to play. this will be proven right, or wrong, in time.
  4. Nothing wrong with a bit of confidence. BANG EM IN BEATTIE BOY!!
  5. Thought it would be - good stuff. Thanks for a sensible reply btw! Hope AJ enjoys the occasion as much as we will.
  6. Well said mate - lets make it a year to remember as one of the finest!!
  7. Probably a re-post, but i cant find it elsewhere in amongst all the transfer chat Anyway, is AJ doing the honours tomorrow, or will it be Walter in his last year, or Murray, or someone else? Saying that ...... Walter can do it at the beginning of next season, since he'll have so much time on his hands celebrating 3-in-a-row as a retired man!! Whoever does the unfurling, regarless of who it is - they will get the biggest cheer of the day (until Beattie finishes his hat-trick!)
  8. The money he has been offered/accepted will be nowhere near what the likes of thomson etc would have been demanding, and, while Blackpool and Ipswich may have been interested, therefore making a contract offer very possible for us. also, its probably in both parties best interests that he tied up his deal just now (probably at a wage drop), as: 1 - it means him and his family not having to uproot again, down to England (currently building a new house) 2 - will probably include as part of his role, 'mentor to incoming youth players' 3 - Ally and Walter know and clearly like him (as he has been played every position bar GK!) 4 - He's a bluenose (despite splitting the fans opinions, as seen on the forum...he does have his fans) 5 - getting to stay at the greatest team in the world (obv!) So love him or loathe him - Big Lee's here to stay!!
  9. Cant believe the money they got for that wee prick. Greetin faced wee cunt wont last 6 months in Russia so lets hope timmy decide to re-sign him and they get charged fucking double for the cheek of sending the wee shitebag there in the first place!!
  10. Maybe he's away to set up a new boy band with Fartin Ofeel.
  11. As much as Jelavic is highly rated - if he doesnt want to play for The Rangers, then he can get to fuck.
  12. I was watching the interviews on the news/SSN today and watched closely to what Walter was saying. He definitely said 'WE' have been looking at players. I know this could just mean Walter and the scouts, but that would also indicate to me that Ally has been paying equal attention to the status and contract demands/requirements of bringing in new players. On another note...even wearing a suit and tie, the bhigot still looked out of his depth at those interviews. He looked like he was returning to court!!
  13. It seemws clear from the outset that all of our alleged targets at the moment, have been 'on Walters radar' for a while now. However, i wonder what the scenario is, should Super Ally disagree with a target signing. We have been told up front, this is Walters last season, and all being well, Ally will take the reigns after taking one last seasons mentoring. Therefore, say for example we take Jelovic on a 4 year deal (PLEASE!!) - would this therefore mean Ally is happy with that particular signing (im only using Jelavic as an example here) and has this player in HIS plans. As a forward in the past, perhaps Ally has his own ideas of which type of forwards are at the club, so i assume these 'targets' are targets of both Walter and Ally, as Ally would have these players in his plans from next season on? and perhaps this explains why so many forwards have been linked with us!! I know all new managers like to mould their squad into their way of working, so is Ally getting a rare/unique major say in these signings just now?
  14. breeze block and meccano make this one of glasgows most innovative structures which could do with winning something before a large gust of wind hits the east end of glasgow! Frequented by Glasgow and Coatbridges Homeless Unit, a fine structure despite being totally disproportional and has a rancid stench coming from deep, deep within. Feared by many children.
  15. Yes, they do. AND....one in Braehead too! Fuckin' joke.
  16. Done. I can only assume Timmy are also doing it with the Paedodome?
  17. He wont be, by any stretch of the imagination, the worst defender in the EPL. He's a confident, composed lad and seems to listen to advice from experienced professionals such as Davie Weir and, to a lesser extent, Lee McCulloch, therefore should take in a lot from players at Liverpool such as Gerrard (if he isnt being a moany cunt all the time) and Carragher. He will have a torrid time against players like Drogba etc, but who doesnt? If given a run against smaller teams, initially to gain confidence and familiarity, could eventually lead to a very promising career for Wilson. Shame he didnt stay and try at the Gers longer, but he wanted to go and we dont want players who dont want to be here.
  18. Doesnt appear to be an out-and-out striker, which would tie in with the ongoing Jelavic deal which Rangers say is not dead - therefore i would assume Smith would play out wide with Jelavic in the middle with Miller, and probably Lafferty or Naismith out on the other wing.
  19. Come on Jelly....you have all the ingredients we need for a Rangers Trifle.... PUT THE CHERRY ON THE TOP, JELLY, PLACE IT ON NOW.....
  20. Hugh Keevins opened the sports news with something along the lines of: "remember where you were standing when you heard this news - Rangers have signed their first player for 2 years" then went on to say that (THE) Rangers have signed Tommy Smith and he will be here for saturday. Again, if you believe the Scottish Press then we have signed the lad and good luck to him. DONT SHOOT THE MESSENGER!!! Im only telling you what Keevins said, and he doesnt like to be proven wrong EVER!
  21. Absolutely class video - thanks for posting that Stuart. Memoried indeed!! Couldn't speak for days after it - well worth it!!
  22. After reading Mackem09's post about the Sunderland game in 1993, it brought back memories of Stuart McCall's testimonial in Bradford, where the Bears took an amazing travelling support, taking around 3/4 stands, if not more! (poor turnout from Bradford fans mind you, considering the work he done for the club), but what an amazing day. The attendance was reckoned to be approx 21,000. The 9IAR team v Bradfords 1st team, and all our top boys were playing, and all got a rousing reception as brought onto the park, introduced one-by-one. We left on the Renfrew Loyal about 7am and the bus just rocked all the way down there, it was fantastic, and i remember the fans singing '9 in a row...9 in a row' repeatedly for almost the full game!!! Getting home is a bit vague mind u! Class day from start to finish for a true Rangers Legend!! And Stuarty got a great reception, then a video of the game/build-up was brought out and was good to actually see how the game went from a sober prespective! Im sure i probably bumped into a number of you that day.
  23. This ... My first OF game, that stairway was the closest, but ma da (God rest him), because I was so skinny and a wee bit claustrophobic says "lets wait a wee while and go out that other exit, this one's a wee bit crowded". By the time we walked around and looked up it had just started. Got home late and were only in 2 minutes and the door went. It was the downstairs neighbor (a diehard Celtic man), when he saw us he started crying like I'd never seen a grown man cry before, said him and his family were sitting downstairs in silence listening for for ma da's footsteps and were starting to panic the later it got. So much to remember about that day, the disaster itself,ma da, Jimmy McDonald (the neighbor), God rest everyone of them, and anyone who thinks there is any room for petty rivalry or bitterness about that day, does not have a clue. I'm all grown up now and like to think I'm manly as the next, but I'm glad my wife is in bed, because I don't want to explain to her right now why my eyes are like this. That was very touching, mate. Respect. GBNF
