Surely Patterson is worth £12m+ on potential & a current international, Kamara has an alleged £15m contract clause, Aribo must be worth upwards of £18m in todays EPL market? That’s £45m in my book. Realistically somewhere between 40-50 million for the 3.

Why on earth are we playing our 2 attacking midfielders both on their “weaker sides” ? It beggars belief.

This would be my starting XI McGregor Patterson Goldson Balogun Bassey Lundstam Arfield Kamara Hagi Roofe Sakala at times with Hagi playing in the hole behind Roofe and Sakala.

Have him on the bench for Thursday, along with McClelland, McCann and Kelly. Upto 12 subs allowed. a great experience for them.

Aribo being played on the left of the midfield 3, Bacuna on the right with Kamara in his natural and best position sitting behind them. Bring in a Centre Half in January too.

Airfield is (when he’s on the pitch) being played to deep. Has no effect on the last 3rd of the pitch, where he’s at his best as an attacking midfielder.

I personally think the obvious is staring us right in the face. As has been said on here many time before, our midfield does not work. The right & left midfielders have too much defensive responsibility covering for our marauding full backs, and it’s clear for everyone to see. When changes were made and we went to a middle 3 with Hagi and Aribo in there ahead of Lundstram in midfield, suddenly we were a threat. Lundstrum covered them well, that’s also Kamara’s best/ preferred position. Against teams of higher quality we should deploy a 4-2-3-1 to keep the attacking threat but with a solid defensive back up. but 4-3-3 with 2 box to box midfielders alongside a holding player has to be the way forward. On a 2nd note, while I’m at it. Aribo should be deployed either left of the 3 (or as a 10/11) in a 4-2-3-1. His lack of confidence in his right foot again is there for all to see. WATP 🇬🇧

Was wondering the same. From what I’ve seen he looks like a right footed Aribo, but better. Has a finish on him too.

Kamara was woeful tonight. Aribo has no confidence in his right boot, no creativity in midfield, and no alternative to the 4-3-3. We set out to contain them when we should’ve had a more attack minded line-up / formation (4-2-3-1 ideally).
