  1. While I agree to an extent, let's not get too lost in a few yards of pitch. He's playing in the middle of the park and if I'm being honest, he's been a monumental anti-climax. His two goals at Fir Park were an excellent introduction and last night's equaliser was a touch of class, but we're talking about a boy we've been passionately linked with since Walter Smith's time here and upon arrival, he hasn't demonstrated the capabilities of a guy who's well-versed in the bright lights of the English Premier League. We need much, much more from him. Dropping the shoulder and cutting back to get away from an opponent ten times per-match in your own half is fine, but we need more creativity. The same applies to Alves.
  2. I don't think you can blame him for the free-kick, but I do agree that he hasn't been as good as I had hoped. The same applies to Dorrans; they're an improvement, but will they enhance us to the extent that we'll compete with the tarriers? No, I'm afraid.
  3. He grew into the game as a result of them going down to ten men. Prior to that, he ran the ball out of play, continually lost possession, ran straight into tackles, demonstrated an atrocious first touch, etc. As someone said in the match thread; he was a rabbit caught in headlights and against Partick Thistle, that just isn't good enough. He isn't good enough and I've little doubt that's why Cardiff were willing to allow a, as we've been reminded on numerous occasions, a Wales international to join us. He's a downgrade on Hodson who's also shite and if he starts next weekend, we're even more fucked.
  4. So shite. Shite for five years and until this cunt goes, we will continue to be shite. Has Declan John ever played football?
  5. They have one fucking point this season. Do you know what? Dorrans offers little to nothing. There are many worse, but we've waited about sixteen transfer windows for a players who does dummies in his own half. The tarriers will hammer us next week. PSG would have put 37 past us the other night, yet a couple of wins against Dundee & Ross County and the 'Lets All Laugh At celtic" topic is bouncing. As I type this, Dorrans has just equalised. I won't pretend I wasn't thinking it, so I'll keep it.
  6. This is chronic. I said to my mate before the game that the jury was still out on Caixinha. Two decent results against two shite teams means fuck all. I didn't think I'd ever say it, but someone looks out of their depth against Partick Thistle; Declan John. Windass, I have no words for.
  7. I don't it's possible to ever truly appreciate how fortunate we are to have witnessed Paul Gascoigne in his prime. Like every kid in the playground began emulating the Cryuff turn after the '74 World Cup, anyone who was anyone began bleaching their hair blonde when Gazza did it. That was the sort of impact he had on world football. The world is fond of Gazza; that speaks volumes. Right now, he should be a multi-millionaire, hosting his own prime time TV show. His affectionate character would be wasted in football management or punditry. He's been offered help, again and again, but he appears to be his own worst enemy. Geniuses, in any art, are often on the verge of mental. In my naivety, I always hoped that Walter or Ally would have offered him a place on our coaching staff, but I now realise that it wasn't reslalistic. I remember Ally saying he had invited him to the UEFA Cup final, but nothing came of it. One of my favourite stories of Gazza is Frank Lampard, as told in his book. Lampard, at 19 or 20 years-old, had been called-up to the England squad and he said he was nervous beyond belief. He arrived at the hotel and it very cliquey; Beckham, Scholes, Neville & all the Man United players sitting together, Adams, Keown, Seaman & the Arsenal players having a coffee together, then Owen, McManaman and the Liverpool boys playing pool together. It was a bit awkward, he said, and not very welcoming. So, he went to his room to avoid the awkwardness and a few moments later, his door went. Gazza was standing there, in a dressing gown, holding a watermelon and counting. He said nothing to Lampard, just walked in and continued counting his steps, circled his room and left, still counting with the watermelon in his hand.
  8. That might work. It's similar to what we get at Parkhead.
  9. Have you seen our safety measures that get Aberdeen & Hibs fans into the stadium? It's a guard of honour of G4S (Or whoever the new security supplier is) staff, stood five feet apart. For them, it's two walls of Police, emergency vehicles and horses. Fuck, at Parkhead, a temporary steel wall is in place to keep us apart. The safety measure applicable to Aberdeen & Hearts would not work for celtic. I'm not sure if you're playing dumb, to be fair...
  10. I used to sign Julius Aghahowa, Taribo West, Cherno Samba, Kim Kallstrom, Mark Kerr, Freddy Guarin, Freddy Adu, etc. on the old Championship Manager, but they were all "cheat" players. No matter who you were, those individuals eventually lead you to glory. When I still played this a few years ago, I would start a game by sorting-out my staff, creating a transfer shortlist, organising pre-season, assessing the youth team, etc. Back then, it was start game, find those listed above and hit continue until I signed them. The best proper signing I've ever made was probably on FM 13 - the one where we started in the Third Division - when I signed a young Honduran by the name of Anthony Lozano. We had just signed the late Arnold Peralta in real life, so I wanted a token Honduran, too. Peralta wasn't in the game, so I sent a scout to watch one of Honduras' international games and he recommended a young striker by the name of Lozano. He was about 20 years-old, playing for Valencia's reserve side and valued at about £50K. Nothing, really. They wanted £75K, so I paid it and he only wanted £1K or so per-week. The work permit process took so long, though, and when he finally arrived, he picked-up a knock, then he went away with Honduras for a month-long international tournament and I then had to send him home for a few weeks because he was homesick. A bit of a pain, but he had only cost £75K and I wasn't expecting anything from him. I had come across him purely by chance because I wanted a Honduran. When he returned, though, fuck me. Goals, goals, goals. I don't recall his exact goals tally, but I remember that it wasn't very far off a goal per-game. After all that drama, the season end seemed to come to soon. The following season, he picked-up where he left off - banging goals in; left, right and centre - before Wigan, a Premier League side at that point, made a bid of £4.4M for him in January. I'm not one of these unrealistic Football Manager players who will turn down a good deal and keep players at the club when in reality, the move would happen due to the financial rewards, so he was sold. Having been bought for just £75K, the £4.4M he was sold for meant that we made a profit in the region of 5,000%. Mental. I was proud of that one, as you can probably tell by the detail. I wish I had enough time to play this these days. EDIT I just searched his name and he's just joined Barcelona B, holding a record of 2 goals in 2 games. I made him.
  11. I voted for "Their Usual" because as far as I'm aware, health & safety renders giving them just the corner a no-go.
  12. I'm not letting this Sinclair's bird one go. Oh, Sinclair's birds a dirty, Posed topless for The Sun, And when she's shagging Sinclair, She thinks of Foderingham/Lee Hodson. Friday night, the 54th minute mark, mobile phone lights on; all together.
  13. I read that on BBC Sport the other day; very touching and sadly, a novelty in modern football. His passion, not the disease. He mentions that he's living in pain and that caught my attention. I've lost family to cancer and while we're aware it's a killer, do we every really hear of the actual pain it inflicts? Those who suffer from it often act courageously and with bravery, never mentioning their discomfort. No surrender, sir.
  14. He should probably get his balls booted for that, but I imagine our working relationship with Puma is difficult at best, so he probably won't. Its nice, though. It looks like one of those gold/running jackets.
  15. I think we need a song for Scott Sinclair's missus, that "actress" Helen Flanagan. I'm actually disappointed we don't. An opportunity being missed, in my opinion.
  16. Away to fuck with this pish. I tear into a tarrier at work; he says they do it for the 67th minute and I say it looks like something kids would do at a Justin Bieber concert.
  17. After that statement, Club 1872 need to never release another statement... ever.
  18. Pedro Mendes' peach against the Tarriers at Parkhead in 2008. Pure joy and, in my honest opinion, that little moment of magic triggered arguably the most dominant, enjoyable period of supporting Rangers in the my lifetime; 2008 - 2011.
  19. I'm Pedro's biggest critic, but he's been incredibly unlucky with those he's moved on. Waghorn, Garner, McKay, O'Halloran and now Dodoo have all scored and/or been scoring for their new employers while we've had make no mistake about it, an utter cunt of a start to the season. Dodoo, Garner and O'Halloran are shite, though. There's a player in Waghorn, but I've never seen a player as out-of-form as he was for the second half of last season. McKay, however, is a different story. He was one of our more capable player, but it appeared that he was banished to the reserves and sold in poor business. On that note, I also believe it's easier to score away from Rangers than it is to score for us. Yes, you're arguably getting better service here, but you're also playing against sides who class it as their Cup final; often the biggest games of their careers.
  20. This is a strange one. It almost feels like another Lee Hodson has arrived. Despite the name, I hope he makes an impact.
  21. As I've said on numerous occasions, he'll find his level in England's League Two with a club like Newport County or Exeter. How anyone can be surprised at this is genuinely beyond me. Barring two fixtures where he made an impact on wide-open, tired opponents - Partick & Aberdeen - he hasn't even looked like a footballer. He doesn't have a future here.
  22. I should have posted this in here, but missed the topic.
  23. What an incredible day that was. I honestly long for those days, so fucking much.
