  1. Like many others I'm also very worried about this game, because of their pace in attack I think its a stick on that we'll defend deep and leave our strikeforce (or striker) completely isolated. Can see us having to endure long periods without getting a touch of the ball then panicking and losing it straight away when we do. But then what do I know, I thought we would beat them comfortably at Ibrox and I couldn't have been more wrong.
  2. For once I would actually agree with him. They're gelling and have an effective and settled strike partnership getting goals every week whilst we play 1 up front and can't string more than 2 passes together.
  3. Fact is we're just a very very poor footballing side.
  4. Well judging by the the way we've been playing compared to the way they've been playing they'd be right to think that. However we thought exactly the same thing going into the last Old Firm game...
  5. Well I doubt a quick scan of RM is part of the teams warm-up routine so the 'negative shit' on here before the game and the 90 minutes has absolutely no bearing on the team and certainly doesn't help Celtic in the slightest.
  6. Pretty disappointing seeing us line up so negatively at home once again, even more so considering the tims don't feel the need to do this, resulting in them being miles ahead of us on goal difference which could be very important come the end of the season.
  7. At left back he's behind Papac, Whittaker, Foster and probably Broadfoot in the pecking order. At left midfield he's behind Lafferty, Naismith, Weiss and Wylde in the pecking order. I said it before, in my opinion we will never see him play unless there really is no other option. Seems strange though that we looked at him for so long, clearly the he must have shown the management team something to be worth a contract?
  8. They'd be welcome to him, this is a signing that I feel absolutely no enthusiasm for in the slightest.
  9. Doubt we can afford any of the names mentioned so far, won't surprise me to see us give new contracts to Weir and Webster with Broadfoot as back-up.
  10. I don't think we will. Reminds me a bit of a January transfer window about 2 years ago possibly when we did fuck all but then leaked a story that we'd made a last minute bid for some random Italian striker for about 5 million quid or something equally as unbelievable, but that it was too late for the deal to be concluded. Carriciollo or something I think his name was and I don't think the guy had the slightest idea who we even were!
  11. This defence that we're continually told on here is a shambles or 'in bits' as you say has conceded a lot less goals than ours this season... As for their finances, they've quietly gone through a period of downsizing of their own the past few years by getting a lot of the high earners off their books. Thats why they can afford to spend on wages now, most of their squad are either Bosmans or relatively young players with a sell on value. I dont think another year without Champions League football would have anywhere near the same affect on them as it would on us.
  12. Hopefully not like the transfer masterstrokes that brought us Rothen, Beattie, Foster etc...
  13. Theres no doubt whatsoever that Riordan is technically superior to probably 99% of our squad. However he has a rotten attitude and is a scummy little rat.
  14. Can't say I've really seen much of him anyway. Not to worry though, as far as I know Ledley was a far higher rated player down there and he's been nothing more than mediocre this season.
  15. Haven't really commented on the whole Commons situation thus far as I'm never confident any time we're linked with a player. But I just really don't understand why our manager once again made this public knowledge. Its exactly the same as the Eagles saga last summer, we must have known right at the start that what we could afford to offer was well short of what the player was looking for, so why even pursue him? And on top of this it seems to be quite clear now that our wage cap is around the 14 grand mark, so players and agents may just refuse to deal with us at all knowing this in advance.
  16. Well hopefully its just down to him being desperate to impress but that's now a yellow card for diving and one for tonights altercation (which could easily have been red) that he's picked up. The last thing we need is for him to miss games through suspension because of stupid needless bookings. Does look to be a quality player, though I do fear him being isolated and expected to do everything on his own.
  17. An admirable sentiment but you can't possibly believe we will win all our remaining SPL games.
  18. But we got to this stage of the season with one now departed player scoring half of our league goals. We have to replace these goals from somewhere and as class an act as Jelavic looks to be I don't know if he's a prolific goalscorer. Time will tell of course.
  19. At no point have I been confident we'd sign anyone during this transfer window anyway. I know there are a few days left but with the paltry financial package we can actually offer I can't see us being able to bring in anyone who's better than what's already at the club.
  20. I'd agree with you on Naismith, I know he's flavour of the month on here but he's never really done it for me. Plenty of effort but all too often not nearly enough quality.
  21. Horrible second half performance, as other posters have alluded to we really need some fresh faces in there to give everyone a boost. Sadly I can't see that happening. We really are completely bereft of creativity and it looks like we've gone from relying on Miller to score our goals to laying all the responsibility on Jelavic.
  22. Yet we're continually told on here that the tims are shite, can't defend and will implode soon...
  23. Lucky lucky boy, the elbow and the 'headbutt', could easily have shown a red there.
  24. Naismith really does show a shocking lack of basic footballing skills at times.
