  1. Gilmour went despite our serious efforts to keep him. Money talked. The same thing may happen with McCausland. Only hope is that his being a fan is a bigger pull.
  2. We have won sod all with not selling players.
  3. I agree about the balance but those two in particular were unlikely to make a positive impact judging by their previous form. The worst part for me with that pair is the transfer fees and wages involved. Probably stuck with both for years unless we write off their fees and agree contract settlement deals. They aren't the only such flops on our books at present. I hold the directors just as accountable as the football management for our current predicament.
  4. Agreed although I'd be confident of getting more for Butland. Not that I want him sold. The list of players we have with little or no value is not just frightening, it's incompetence from football management aided by directors who didn't question such signings.
  5. The board under Douglas Park should have been more involved when players such as Davies, Ridvan, etc were being signed and Kent, Morelos, Kamara etc weren't being sold. Obviously they didn't want the incoming flak at the time. Same problem with this board under Bennett particularly allowing the signings of Lammers and Dessers for money and wages involved. Same issue about avoiding flak for not backing the manager. Lammers and Dessers were never going to make us a profit. Any board has to take a risk between interfering in playing matters and balancing the books. It's a difficult task at times but that is what directors have to do.
  6. The figures are worse than I expected. Likely to be even worse this financial year as those figures were only until 30th June. Look at the players sold and signed since that date and Beale's removal. I see nothing to be even remotely happy about our accounts. Promised a player trading model which we have failed to follow in the last two seasons (4 transfer windows).
  7. If it was Gold only then a lot of games would be permanently out of reach of non-Gold levels. Gold members are no more loyal than the majority of our fans.
  8. The accounts make awful reading. The board should be apologising and promising to get their act together.
  9. A lot of players have numerous clubs when young but by the time they are 22 or 23 you expect them to show consistency going forward from then.
  10. He wasn't 26, think he was 23 when we signed him.. This is his 9th season with us.
  11. Pretty sure Tav was only 23 when he signed for us.. He did have 9 clubs prior to that of which 7 were loans.
  12. The wage bill increasing by £9m is worrying. We still have considerable Director loans. Our expenditure needs to come down. The player trading model is basically in tatters thanks to Beale and others.
  13. From season 2015 to 2020 he was at Stoke (5 years) 2020 to early 2023 he was at Crystal Palace (2.5 years) 2023 Man Utd (0.5 years) That's nothing like Lammers abysmal record.
  14. Most of the other clubs were when he was young (up to about 21 years old)
  15. Most of them were when Tavernier was loaned out as a young player. Think he was only 23 when he joined us.
  16. Other clubs have tried to make a success of him and have failed. The manager picks him and there is nothing I can do about that but I doubt I'll see any permanent improvement.
  17. Tav is listed as 7 goals and 3 assists which is 10 combined.
  18. The fact that at 26 years old we are his 7th club tells its own story. I hope in January he is at his 8th club.
  19. I have to disagree mate, he really doesn't give his all. Thursday night was a case in point where he hardly broke sweat. He jogged about the park failing to close opposition players down. That was what really annoyed me. Time after time he failed to close people down and or track back. I'm not surprised that he isn't doing well with us. His track record at previous clubs is abysmal. Why we expected a different scenario with us is baffling. When his name was first mentioned I was told by a very well-informed source that we shouldn't sign him. That came from Italy. Nobody wants to see any player fail especially when we paid a lot of cash for him and his wages will be high but he is a passenger in most games. We can't be a player down right from kick-off in games. He not only has no sell-on value, he will no doubt cost us more to get him away.
  20. Exactly what job is he meant to be doing? I've been watching Rangers for decades and over that period we have had some baffling signings who were criticised by fans for being what I will term as not being of a good enough standard. Some were home grown others bought but they were still woeful. Lammers cost approx £3.5m and had a poor record before we signed him. He has shown no sign of improving on his previous form. Criticism goes with the territory for footballers and other high profile people. I don't hate the guy as a person, I just don't want him playing for us. He cost a lot of money, gets well-paid and has a 4 year deal. He simply isn't contributing positively to the team.
  21. If he can have such a positive impact against decent European opposition like Sparta then I'd rather we played him.
  22. I honestly don't see anything positive about Lammers. I posted elsewhere that I tried not to criticise him last night but he offered nothing in attack, midfield or defensively. He was simply a woeful passenger last night. Totally ineffective.
  23. This. Lammers inaction put our right side under more pressure defensively all night. All he had to was close their players down which would have us contain them.
  24. I tried not to get too animated at him last night but that didn't last. He marked areas of grass most of the game, he didn't close down their players, particularly coming down on our right side. Time after time he should have pressed them but he held back. On the very few occasions when he did try to help the defence he had allowed their players to get past him and then lunged in from the back. His lack of effort in covering and closing down exposed our right side defending. My one concern about Clement is his apparent patience with Lammers. We needed 11 players especially in the last 25 mins last night and we only had 10 taking part.
