  1. I saw that bit about bonus payments which makes me wonder wtf are the bonus levels???
  2. Thanks to Ross Wilson, GvB and Beale we have a bloated squad of utter mince. The money spent on transfer fees, signing-on fees and wages is simply disgraceful. God knows how we will get even half of them off the books and at what cost in terms of taking massive losses on fees and possibly having to either lump sum pay-offs or making up the wage differences. From the last two summer transfer windows, these are the players I'd want gone ASAP: Souttar signing-on fee, 4 yr contract, always injured, not very good. Matondo £2.7 m, 4 yr contract, weekly wage £18k to £28k, not very good. Davies £4 m, 4 yr contract, weekly wage £27k, not very good. Yilmaz £5.29 m, 5 yr contract, weekly wage £12k, not very good. Dowell Signing-on fee, 3 yr contract, weekly wage £16k, not very good. Sterling Signing-on fee, 4 yr contract, weekly wage £18k, not very good. Lammers £3.5 m, 4 yr contract, weekly wage £21.5k , utter mince. Dessers £4.3 m, 4 yr contract, weekly wage £20k, utter mince. Cifuentes £2.7 m, 4 yr contract, weekly wage £16k , utter mince. We have the perma-injured Roofe and on-loan Sima both on big bucks. The whole situation is demoralising.
  3. Souttar and Davies both culpable at their goal. Both are really poor.
  4. I'd rather players were subbed if they are utter crap even if they are following orders. Clement worries me because it was obvious that Cantwell should have been moved centrally behind Danilo. Cantwell is our main creative player. Sima was anonymous, Lammers was simply awful as was Cifuentes. Souttar and Davies make Balogun and Goldson look like Sergio Ramos in his prime.
  5. Worrying that Clement said Cantwell wasn't following instructions. Begs the question, were Lammers, Cifuentes and Sima following instructions? Were Davies and Souttar?
  6. Good to see. Hope he mentioned to Prince William that his dad's photo is proudly displayed on our dressing room wall. Also that his grandma's photo adorns our wall above the dressing room door.
  7. No mate, Stuart wasn't on the old fans' board but he was one of the independent group who whittled down the long list of candidates before the fans voted.
  8. Very sad news. I've known Stuart for more than 50 years. He used to go to games on our bus back in the seventies. He was a really nice guy and I had been expecting to see him next week. He will be sorely missed by all involved with Rangers. It was a pleasure being his friend.
  9. I thought he did ok particularly in 2nd half.
  10. On the mentality issue, for me the problem is we have no proper leadership on the park. We have no real captain, no driving force to encourage, cajole, bully or basically do whatever it takes to get that extra effort out of players when the chips are down. It's been a problem for years now. Tav and Goldson are not leaders.
  11. Correct. To be fair to Lundstram he couldn't do much more with his header.
  12. Sima was anonymous yesterday. Should have been subbed at half time. I was disappointed in Clement leaving him on so long as it was obvious Sima needed replaced.
  13. Any win will do me. What I do want to see is an improvement on our usual first 10/15 mins. The team needs a rocket up them before kick off. Still no leadership on the park. Couldn't make a captain out the whole squad. That is probably our single most important failing.
  14. Gilmour went despite our serious efforts to keep him. Money talked. The same thing may happen with McCausland. Only hope is that his being a fan is a bigger pull.
  15. We have won sod all with not selling players.
  16. I agree about the balance but those two in particular were unlikely to make a positive impact judging by their previous form. The worst part for me with that pair is the transfer fees and wages involved. Probably stuck with both for years unless we write off their fees and agree contract settlement deals. They aren't the only such flops on our books at present. I hold the directors just as accountable as the football management for our current predicament.
  17. Agreed although I'd be confident of getting more for Butland. Not that I want him sold. The list of players we have with little or no value is not just frightening, it's incompetence from football management aided by directors who didn't question such signings.
  18. The board under Douglas Park should have been more involved when players such as Davies, Ridvan, etc were being signed and Kent, Morelos, Kamara etc weren't being sold. Obviously they didn't want the incoming flak at the time. Same problem with this board under Bennett particularly allowing the signings of Lammers and Dessers for money and wages involved. Same issue about avoiding flak for not backing the manager. Lammers and Dessers were never going to make us a profit. Any board has to take a risk between interfering in playing matters and balancing the books. It's a difficult task at times but that is what directors have to do.
  19. The figures are worse than I expected. Likely to be even worse this financial year as those figures were only until 30th June. Look at the players sold and signed since that date and Beale's removal. I see nothing to be even remotely happy about our accounts. Promised a player trading model which we have failed to follow in the last two seasons (4 transfer windows).
  20. If it was Gold only then a lot of games would be permanently out of reach of non-Gold levels. Gold members are no more loyal than the majority of our fans.
  21. The accounts make awful reading. The board should be apologising and promising to get their act together.
