  1. As far as I am aware Paul Murray doesn't have anything like the money required. He was fronting the previous "bid" last spring with Dave King being the main cash provider. The plan then was for a consortium of possibly 4 other wealthy Gers fans to inject further capital via a share issue. With hindsight, this now looks the better deal than Whyte's. David Murray clearly didn't do his homework on Whyte although Lloyds were putting Murray under severe pressure to sell. A Lloyds director told me as much at Lloyds AGM last year.
  2. I had been a bit wary of Whyte until I found out that we hadn't paid HMRC £9m since he took over the reins. There have been some dodgy things come out but when the Ticketus money issue was made public and now this unpaid tax, I am in the anti-Whyte camp. Having said that, it doesn't appear to matter what I think as a shareholder, season ticket holder and fan. I did say months ago that the Club's PR was a disaster but with the recent revelations, I can now see why Whyte doesn't like publicity. If he doesn't lie outright, he certainly omits to tell the truth.
  3. There have been a few murmurings about this before and everyone (except Whyte) was waiting for the tax case to be resolved. I don't really trust Whyte 100% but at least he had the bottle to bring matters to a head. The tax case has been ongoing for 2 years at least and was hindering us at every turn. The previous regime had engulfed us in debt as we all know. McLeish, Le Guen, Walter Smith and now McCoist have all been scraping by in the transfer market. We sold out to JJB and the catering long before Whyte. That was to try to get the debt down. We can only hope that someone comes in with a Gers background. I believe Paul Murray is involved with Dave King and one or two others. Time will tell.
  4. That is rubbish. This is not the coward's way out it is the only way out. We have been stumbling along for years under the weight of debt and mismanagement foist upon us by the previous regime. If we clean up our act then we can hold our heads up high again. There is no shame in realising that one or two people have brought the Club to its knees and that we need to get back on our feet. Murray, Bain, McIntyre and their advisers are the only people who should be pilloried. What have we done? The history of the Club takes precedence. This is an unfortunate episode which we all hope we can put behind us. If you are looking at real shame, look at the other loyt and the abuse that was ignored.
  5. I am heartened by the response here guys. I believe that there are other larger investors who are willing to invest given the right circumstances. Someone had to bite the bullet for RFC and Whyte has done that. He is certainly not squeaky clean as far as I can see but why would he take all the flak if he wasn't a fan? He seems to have been living pretty well before he was involved with buying the Club. Doubt many others would have the backbone to do what he has done. I'm sick of Alastair Johnston spouting off without anyone asking him what would the situation be today if Whyte hadn't taken over? I'm not saying AJ was involved in the tax debt scenario but he certainly played it down at the 2010 AGM. Murray has kept his head down as well. I do think that if we could highlight the fact that a large number of supporters were willing to buy in to the Club after administration it would help attract larger investors.
  6. The administrators should be able to sort out the money in the interim.
  7. Redrock, I don't disagree about other investors but I was hoping to see if fellow Bears would be willing to put money in. I did state I was unsure of Craig Whyte.
  8. I'm a shareholder as well and they are now worthless. I didn't buy them as an investment.
  9. I appreciate that but what I asked was about basically buying shares in a one-off purchase. £1,000 is only £20 per week. I asked some other guys who sit near me and will check again on Saturday (unless I have to bring my boots to make up the numbers ).
  10. Before I get to the point of my post I would like to make a few other comments. Many of the posts on here are now a bit pointless. It is obvious that this HMRC fiasco is going to hit us hard. I am still unsure of Craig Whyte but the problem was insitu long before he bought the Club although with the BBC and Daily Record you would think he was the person responsible. Why is Sir David Murray not getting some bad press? Why is Alastair Johnston being given carte blanche to criticise Whyte without being taken to task about the debt. I remember being at the AGM in 2010 when the issue was given scant attention. Shareholders were basically told not to worry. What has never been made clear is who first mooted the tax avoidance scheme? Who checked it out with tax advisers? Who were the tax advisers? Why did the auditors not bring this to the shareholders attention at various AGMs? Who were the so-called tax experts who advised the Board that we had a good case? Why did HMRC wait so long before bringing this to a head when the amount has become too large to be paid? I notice that the media has never brought any of these questions to the fore. Having got that off my chest, I will now ask all Rangers fans on here, WOULD YOU BE PREPARED TO PUT MONEY IN TO THE CLUB AFTER ADMINISTRATION? I have three season tickets for my family and I would put £1,000 in for each of us. Would you be willing to follow suit?
  11. CSKA game at home we did hammer them 0 - 0 .... did everything but score. It wouldn't have mattered if we had thumped CSKA because Marseille had better head-to-head against us. They would have had to drop points against Brugge (or Bruges). As for the real points of your post, I agree with most of your thoughts. I have been saying the same for months. 4 awful games in Europe, beaten by Falkirk under tens, poor to awful in 15 league games with only 10 games getting pass marks. It just isn't good enough. Like everyone else, I loved Ally as a player but he doesn't appear to have a clue as manager. Ortiz, Bedoya, Healy, Kerkar, McKay have been a waste of money to date. I can't see Wallace as a player worth £1.5m. Ally's tactics and selections bewilder me at times. Broadfoot and McCulloch have been mince since the day they signed and although Ally didn't sign them he still plays them when they are fit or not suspended. McCulloch drags the team down to his level. Against Hibs at weekend he had a shot at goal without being under pressure and from about 20 yards he missed by at least 30 yards. Red face? Nope he had a laugh!!! I wanted to punch him for laughing. Papac at left mid and Wallace at left back, Bartley at right back instead of middle. He is totally uncomfortable at right back. McMillan now off-loaded when he looked OK at full back. Hutton out on loan again, when he is far better than McCulloch. Wylde played on right wing when he only has one attribute, fire down the wing and whip in a cross. That doesn't work on the wrong side. Constantly punting high balls to forwards who are useless in the air. We have no players who can hit a decent shot from outside the box. Corners and free kicks are usually crap. (Aluko on Sat was rare exception) Goian and Bocanegra have been fine but remember they were last minute replacements for the real targets who never materialised. I want to know who went to see Ortiz and Bedoya and thought they would be OK. I saw Ortiz in Germany on the summer tour and he was useless against the amateurs of Lotte who beat us on the night!!!! He hasn't improved. Healy couldn't hit an elephant's backside with a banjo. Young Bendiksen looked a decent player but Ally sickened him because he wouldn't play him. I could go on but it is so depressing. I'm not a happy Bear just now. The off-field problems are bad enough but it's on-field that makes the situation even worse. I can't believe we didn't go for Kris Boyd. As a free agent he could have done the trick up front. Lazy, probably, but he knew where the goal was.
  12. I admit I have reservations about Craig Whyte and will be at the AGM when or if he ever decides to announce the date. Maybe he is OK but only time will tell as we can do nothing about the situation ourselves. He certainly keeps a very low profile and the Club PR is hopeless. I don't think Coisty helps with some ill-advised comments. Mind you, I don't think he helps with a stream of unknown players on trial. As I've noted previously, Bedoya, McKay, Kerkar, Healy and Ortiz don't give me a lot of confidence in the signing policy. I first saw Ortiz play against the German amateurs in summer and he was utter mince. He hasn't improved. My daughter has been on the Ibrox pitch more often than McKay (her 3 to his 2). I could rabbit on but I'm sure most fans know what these players are like. At least the new boy Mervan looked a bit of a player. I wish McCoist would realise what a dumpling McCulloch is. He came off the bench on Saturday and was crap as usual. Pointing and jumping on the spot. He had a shot which missed by a greater distance than he was when he hit the ball. He was under no pressure and had the cheek to laugh at it. I've played amateur and never missed by anything near as much. The shot was bad enough but when he laughed I could have punched him. I pay for three season tickets and expect a more professional approach than that. It is also no surprise that Edu has been playing better without McCulloch on the park.
  13. How is this guy a tim? Give it a rest. We should be worried about what Coisty will do with any money should Jelavic be sold. I'm more worried about another Bedoya, McKay, Ortiz, Healy, Kerkar.

  15. How is the guy a Celtic fan? He is allowed his point just as you are. They are relatively old points in the main but he can still put the question. If you don't like the question don't respond.
  16. Why do you bother with such rumours? Before panicking check the facts. What organisation would give RFC 3 years season ticket money as a loan when everyone knows about the outstanding tax case? Check the newspaper website before anything else.
  17. I would have Papac at left back as I don't rate Wallace at FB. Would give Wallace another shot at left mid in place of Wylde. Give the rest a go though. Possibly Bendikson in mid before Wallace or at half time. McKay would move to left side.
  18. Felt like it ended last night after slowly dying for the last couple of months !!!
  19. Think you picked up Whyte incorrectly. £25m was to be over 5 years some of which would be front loaded. That is, £5m+ in the first year. He didn't say how much more than £5m. We all need to take a reality check about Whyte, he isn't mega rich. As for McCulloch, I'd rather have Kyle Hutton instead. Edu and Davis play better when McCulloch isn't on the park. The team plays better in fact.
  20. "Swally" is referring to me apparently and he couldn't be more wrong.
  21. What are you on about man? "Another one flushed" There is only one idiot on the thread (Broxi Boab) or whatever. Ignore the fool and talk about Rangers. I'm intrigued why we have this thread in the first place. I was looking and posting about our team and noticed this thread.
  22. One obvious idiot this time but that doesn't mean the rest of us are beggars.
