im realistic that our price bracket for outright signings, aint going to get us the players that have the supporters flooding back to ibrox.however when the premiership teams have gave their 25 man squads in,we may be able to get a few on loan stars that we otherwise couldnt afford. you just never know we could end up with the likes of benayoun,adebayour,wright philips,sturridge or any other fringe player. problem being having to give them back at the end of the season. i think the loaning of players is very much the way of the future for our club. we want real quality in the team but aint always prepared to take the gamble and cough up the asking price for these individuals.our club ended up in a right mess because of silly spending back in the smith and advocaat era. if spent wisely we could make money on most signing by buying quality and get them on long contracts with certain release clauses etc in place,and not just average players that make up the numbers. there would be plenty of takers for mcgregor,jelavic,davis and naismith if they were to become available tomorrow. whatever way we choose, i will support them as long as they are giving their all and keep the title at ibrox,no matter if they are here for 4 seasons or just the 1.

we need him to fork out for a decent striker and fast as this little knee problem of jelavics had me really concerned who would take his place. if anything were to happen to him injury wise, no doubt then we would look for a replacement but that would take time and by that time we may have dropped more points in the league by having to rely on (out of form and fitness) healy and beattie to score us some goals.

why would this be a problem at all if lee wallace was our full back? all i was saying was that the guy is more than capable to fill in for that short space of time that lee wallace goes forward. also lee wallace being left footed does that also mean that he doesn't draw the full back inside? of course it doesnt.

agreed, steven davis is untouchable on his day. passing,close control,vision,link up play,attacking threat,he can intercept as good as anyb midfielder but by no means is our star man only a ball winner. player of the year, season till last, he is our best player (vlad weiss recent interview). to get him for 5 years for zilch is brilliant. true rangers man.

you can see straight away lee wallace is a far more accomplished defender.whitty was bought on his attacking ability but as time progressed his defending has been found out big time. dont get me wrong his balls to take vital penalties last year and also his 10+ goals 2 seasons previous helped us big time. as said before he is a confidence player,squad player at most but at 20K a week should probably be sold on,which to me was maybe a reason he got offered the new contract in the first place(bursaspor interest).
