  1. Current set up was £800 for the body (at the time) and £500 ish for the sports 180mm f2.8 lens, cheap compared to the other stuff eh? Aye pretty much, just a 'best of' of my photos basically Sites in the sig
  2. Thanks mate, If I can get at least one image like that per visit to Ibrox i'd be happy, great for my portfolio. Of course I aim to get as many decent images as possible, but certain factors effect it, players running away from you when scoring, weather, luck, lack of action.. yesterdays match for a photographer wasn't the most action packed, I have about 150 of headers , but like I said, images like the one of McCulloch there would do great for my portfolio.
  3. I did to record Walter's press interview yesterday (well Blackberry) I'd get it insured if I bought that badboy, for the camera body alone plus 400mm lens that'd be £12k
  4. How much does a Nikon D3x and a nice 400mm f2.8 lens... cost? http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B001MIYM12/ref=s9_simh_gw_p23_t3?pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_s=center-1&pf_rd_r=06M83CF7NE3RVNNW8RQC&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=467198433&pf_rd_i=468294 http://www.amazon.co.uk/Nikon-Ii400Mm-If-Ed-Nikkor-Black/dp/B00007EDZL/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1267986660&sr=1-1 you'd need to be a bit doo lally to spend that sort of coin on a camera. Can you no just rent one or something? Rent one for every game of the season and shoots between the week? That'd end up costing more than that.
  5. I've kept watermarks on most of my images, but I thought these two would be useful for wallpapers or signatures for anyone that wants McCulloch/Wilson images.. Heres Big Lee scoring his 2nd And for Danny Wilson fans..
  6. You should see how clear the images it gives out are though! I never realized that's how much these camera things are, I always thought it was maybe 2k max for the best if even that How much could you make a year anyways taking pics for Rangers etc? Well depends on many factors, but starting pay about £18-20k I'd say at basic, but if you work for an agency and charge per image you could potentially get more. Some of the top sport photographers earn between £30-50k or more if they shoot olympics etc. One can dream Are you working for anyone yet McB doing snaps? Should get a word in for doing Rangers games And when do you become a "pro" is there some license you got to do/get? Well yeh and no, I mean you can apply for this; http://www.bipp.com/ But if you are getting paid as a freelance photographer for your work you could be considered a 'Professional' too. Buying you lens over £500 from Nikon makes you a member of Nikon Pro, which gives you a credit type card that says "NIKON PRO"

  11. Cheers guys, I'm still learning but I feel they are getting better everytime. Now I want to upgrade to a Nikon D3x and a nice 400mm f2.8 lens (what the Pro's use), my 180mm f2.8 and Nikon D200 does for now though
  12. New Rangers photographer Kirk O'Rouke kindly had me to photograph at Ibrox yesterday, I got some decent photos, and managed to sit in on the manager interviews (next to Hugh 'Imnotacelticfan' Keevins), meet McCoist, McDowell, McCulluch and McGregor (all the Mc's ) and get some great advice and information from Kirk regarding sports photography and what he does as a job for Rangers. Here are some photos, the rest can be found here; http://s364.photobucket.com/albums/oo86/Lister87/Rangers%20v%20St%20Mirren%20060310/ Password 'listerphotos'
  13. I was at the game photographing today, got some good pictures will upload them tomorrow when I'm on the mac! Also managed to sit in on the press interviews, right next to Hugh Keevins who decided to take what was said and alter it on the radio.. No suprise! Haha! Also met Coisty, Mcdowell, and Mcculloch after and got some photos, great day in all! As for Lafferty, he's not injured just wasn't used Walter said.
  14. Thats a cracker, I'll be getting that. Shiny patch does look odd, but nevermind.
  15. I wore this Ralph Lauren long sleeve polo (rugby looking) shirt, it reminded me of the old Rangers kit (and Scotland kit actually). And no thats not me in the photo.
  16. Can't lose with dignity can they? It's always someone elses fault, or theres always another problem with the match. Theres never the actual fact that we were just better and wanted it more, get it right up them.
  17. I can see that happening also.Whittaker anywhere but right back, please Walter. I wouldn't be surprised(or adverse) to Walter playing Lafferty wide left. If he plays like he did when he came on at half time the other week, with hunger and passion ready to have a go and actually put in a decent pass then great. If he plays pish then At least he won't be up front, he's had his chance there.
  18. Thats rubbish and you know it mate Boyd in a 4-5-1 would be close to useless (see the last Old Firm game). Exactly... some people are fixated on Boyd that they are missing the main point, and that's getting a result I think people are more fixated on getting the result using the best players at our disposal, Boyd and Miller up front in a 442 being that. Football is all about options and different set ups to gain a advantage, this could be one of those times to strengthening one area of the pitch like central midfield in a 3, to gain more of a advantage and spring a surprise. It's not always about playing 2 up front you know, but it is a good option to have later on in the game We tried all these options out at the start of the season and stupidly in the Champions League. Our best football this season has been played in a 442 with attacking open football, all played on the floor. Is that the same 4-4-2 that has been slated every game this season (With exception of 4 games in December) The same 4-4-2, that has Thomson and McCulloch in midfield who cannot play together and the same 4-4-2, when switched to in the champions league, got us destroyed off Sevilla and Unirea. That the one your talking about? That 4 games was the 'best football' I was talking about, 442, ball played on the floor (not lumped up the park), players used out wide (Novo, Beasley) simple passes, Davis was influential, Boyd and Miller thriving on all the ammunition. If Boyd and Beasley didn't get injured and Miller suspended followed by injured our strong footballing team of December wouldn't have broken up into that 442 of 2nd team players we saw. I've already said in a different thread that Thomson and McCulloch shouldn't play together in the middle of the 442, middle at our best was Beasley - Davis - Thomson/McCulloch - Novo. The one that beat an in form Hibernian 4-1 after going a goal down away from home. Aye, that's the one I'm talking about.
