  1. Games are 10th and 17th march, is it away 1st?
  2. Im just going to book a hotel in eindhoven, drive over (ferry) the morning of the game, get pissed, sash it up, watch the game, get pissed, drive back on the friday afternoon, sorted.
  3. Heard in work today, plus Sky Sports News tonight.
  4. Can vaguely remember that. still a bit confusing.
  5. Ive heard from a few sources, Rangers dont actually own their Youth programme. I heard a few years ago Rangers couldnt afford to run Murray Park, so a consortium of 4 businessmen put in £1M each. Now any youth player to come out of Murray Park is owned by this company (Rangers Youth Development PLC). Although Rangers get first refusal they still have to purchase these players. If this is the case surely we would have no chance if a wonderkid was to come through if the likes of Man Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal, etc were to come calling. Can anyone confirm this?
  6. The past few home strips have been rotten. And this years is a joke. Has anyone tried playing football in the current home strip? I always buy them anyway, but only wore it once, its a very heavy top, and soaks up the rain. Ive chosen Kappa, I like Portsmouths strip, and some of the Italian strips.
  7. Big Davie Weir didnt train today, are Wattie/Ally preparing to drop him after his old firm horrorshow?
  8. Your correct. Weir relies on McCulloch big time. Im not bigging up McCulloch though, hes a fair player, but for a couple of million you could buy a center half that does the job of Weir and McCulloch. Let the midfield concentrate more on building attacks, and allow the manager to get away from this midfield 5 thats hampering our old firm chances.
  9. Look at Hoopers second goal, 1 pass from defence, 1 pass out to the wing, 1 pass into our box, 1 pass into the onion bag. Simple, Weir stood on the spot playing the offside, schoolboy error. Bartley ran from their half trying to catch Hooper, Whittaker was nowhere near Izaguire. The simplest form of football.
  10. Martyboy, you sound like a guy that sits behind me. For a couple of old firm games we didnt turn up, thats it. The way I see it is when i wake up tomorrow morning im still proud to be a bluenose. The leagues not lost. AYE READY.
  11. Agree with everything youve said. Identical to the 10IAR season. I dont think the league is totally gone, though it now means we have to go on a winning run, and hope celtic drop points. Weir - far too old, Edu - spectator, McGregor - suspect, Bougherra - off day, Whittaker - fair player, but nothing spectacular, Diouf/Jelavic - no support, Naismith - injured, Davis - needs a kick up the arse, Weiss - not even on the park, but has good or bad days. Problem is we dont have enough competition for positions, and theres too many players guaranteed their place in the team because of our personnel shortage.
  12. Ive never seen a manager in the studio straight after the game.
  13. Does anyone else remember a reserve player called Jazz Jutulla? I think he was a Scot/Pakistani, if i remember he was the reserve captain in the mid 90's. Was just wondering where he ended up. This is a popular subject with us in the boozer, has anyone else got any ex players they want to bring up?
  14. My main memory of him was singing "walter smiths blue & white army". He would do the "walter smith", then the whole copland front would do the "blue & white army", for 90 minutes. Absolute quality. Remember him doing it in a rangers v celtic reserve match. Oh, EE santa is definetley still alive.
  15. No pal i was just listing the positives. McCoist positives - Bluenose, knows the club/players, good with the media, will draw tactical guidance from smith, fans favorite. Negatives - No contacts, no management experience, will draw tactical guidance from smith, too familiar with the playing staff, and if things go tits up will the chairman be hesitant in upsetting mccoist because of his stature with the fans. No question, Billy Davies is the ONLY man for the job.
  16. Hes had good success in arguably the most challenging league in the world. Lets face it, in scotland you only have to be better than one team over a season. Ally McCoist is definetly not the man for the job. I would take back le guen before mccoist. Not even near it. Were operating to a small budget, challenging with championship and league 1 sides. He must have good contacts. And i know personally hes a bluenose.
  17. Does anyone remember the copland nutter? Used to sit behind me in the copland front in the late 90's, not heard much of him since.
  18. Billy Davies for me. Cant argue with his track record. Hes a winner, knows the club, and still based in Glasgow. If you watch his teams they are always well drilled, with a strong defence, and (for me) the most important thing for me is he always concentrates on set pieces. A problem we have had for a few seasons now.
  19. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1084563/From-Fowlers-line-sniffing-Gazzas-flute-playing-The-SHOCKING-goal-celebrations.html
  20. Ness's goal for me, but it will never beat big Berti Bombscare's goal against the beggers at Hampden. Wooooooooof!
  21. Thats quite a bad one, you didnt have to be an expert to see he had something.
  22. During the recent transfer activity involving Charlie Adam down south, my mind went back to all those players over the years rangers let go or released that went on to do great things. Rino Gatusso springs to mind. Your talking about a player that was once worth £20-30 million. And, even though it was before my time, i know rangers famously let go kenny dalglish. To think we also had Stevie Davis as a youngster but didnt take the oppurtunity to sign him. It seems to me that if your a youth player at ibrox, and aren't 6"6', and built like a tank, you dont stand a chance. Does anyone else know of any top players Rangers had on their books but didnt sign?
  23. Aye, but when your a man up you should take advantage of it. That first 20 mins of the second half was diabolical. Celtic were passing the ball about as if they were 4-0 up. We needed someone to make it happen. Big Edu was dying on his feet, and the Diouf/Jelavic combination wasnt working.
  24. Weiss should have came on when we were a man up. Not when we were chasing the game. Big Diouf looked good. But Smith should have gave him some support.
