To be honest i dont know but i just think we need to show a bit more balls when it comes to selling players. I mean there talking about Bougy goin for £1m n Shaggers worth about £4m. We should be making it clear through the media how much we value these players instead of just settling for what someone is willing to pay.

That the thing, they do hype there players to get better money and spin a lot of shite but thats what we should be doing too, we sell to the first bidder for half what there worth, its ridiculous. I know the bank has been dictating a lot of the deals in recent years but we need someone with some balls to say "this is what hes worth, you dont pay it then ye can fuck off"!

Doubt it considering Lemmons goin on about minimum £10m each, plus the £20m estimate included Hooper. £20m was a bit OTT but i think they will get plenty, the point is there picking players up for peanuts who are gonna make them tidy profits.

The reality is we need to find the right balance between homegrown players, cheapish foreign imports and start exploiting the bosman market a lot more and hopefully get the odd gem who will net us a tidy sell on value. The only way to do that is to improve our scouting system, hopefully Neil Murray and Bomber Brown are already on the case.

Unirea had at least 3 or 4 really tidy players, especially the Argie left back but as has been stated on here before other countries dont have the same limitations as we do when it comes to work permits.

Your right, it is easier said than done but it makes you sick when the tarriers can pick up 3 players for a combined total of under £4m and the estimated sell on is gonna be anything up to £20m. It all comes down to scouting, ours has been lagging behind for to long now, especially in the world-wide market. Theres no doubting theres players there.

I would agree with that, in all 3 cases your buying potential. Naismith and Whittaker have justified the £2m price tag IMO, although granted they took some time to come good, particularly Naismith. I dont know if Goodwillie is worth the £2m yet, especially in the current market, but again its whether you take the risk on potential.

Exactly, a real confidence player but really has grown into the jersey since he signed. Flashes of brilliance, the odd clanger but definitely deserves to be here for a long time to come so heres hoping plus he can play virtually anywhere if required

I think its been a case of needs must as Smith never had the money to fill a squad with players who can play only one position so had to get players who can cover a few different areas and work with a smaller squad. Look at Naismith, he feels his natural position is striker yet he has won our player of the year playing wide right, wide left, 2nd striker and even centre mid. I think its a good thing but equally feel you need at least a few players who only play one position, purely for some stability.

Centre half is always a tricky one but we usually pull one out the bag ie. Cuellar, Boumsong, Bougherra. Long as its not a Svensson Is the big American Onyewu not out of contract in the summer? Good defender n ye never know, might help Edu settle down a bit n bacome a player

Just to add to that, its a bad day that we are yet again relying on there bottle crashing, home results have killed us. Losing 3-0 against a Hibs team who couldnt buy a win and have hardly won since was embarrasing then losing THAT Utd game was the biggest let down this season.
