  1. Just enjoy the result. Why folk are even talking about Mccoists commentary is beyond me. It's like some try and find an excuse to bring it back to the lower leagues. Move on, accept that time was shite and move forward. Just drew 2 each with villarreal I Spain, 5 years ago I couldn't even dream of that. Mccoists days here as a manager are long done. Fuck dragging it back to that.
  2. A number of candidates. Firstly i think coulibaly being in the midfield makes a massive difference. Already hoping we secure him on a permanent deal. Ryan Kent, I've not been his biggest fan, as I've seen lots of running with the ball from him, seen he can beat a man... But there's been little end product... Good to see him get a goal. He clearly has talent and I hope through regular game time he continues to develop. Arfield, I've read criticism of him from others but thus far I like him. Always puts in a shift and works hard, seen him get beyond Morelos a number of times too. Not only that but it's the little flicks and one twos that he plays around the box that open teams up. Candeias was great too, does what's expected.
  3. Managed to get an alternative number for you mate - new policy though - you need to ask for a ride at the start of the conversation and they'll sort you out.
  4. Jordan rossiter, Graham dorrans, Niko kranjcar, Carlos Pena and Jamie Murphy like this
  5. Said it before but he's done and should have been moved on to any taker after the first year. He's offered nothing and it's time to move on.
  6. I think I've gone through most of those in the last few days... Which probably shows in my original post ???
  7. So I'm pretty sure I'm as deflated as the rest of you from that result yesterday and I'm trying to stay positive about us after a dismal afternoon. In years gone by I'd have been devastated by a performance like that as it would show we werent up to it. This time I'm gutted as I feel we didn't show what we could do. We let them walk over us. I think we have to take into account the trip back from russia and effort put in on Thursday, it's been a tiring few weeks with a lean squad. Hopefully what we've seen is a blip and Gerrard will have us firing again after the break. Fine margins in football are a funny thing, if we had not lost the goal and managed to get one, Gerrard is a hero. However that didn't happen and now he has to accept he got it wrong and we weren't good enough. They bossed us and we got what we deserved. I hope we learn from this and approach the next one differently. I think we need the Albanian boy to hit the ground running and to be better than what we have. I hope Gerrard continues to build and we show consistency in the league. Now we have made the Europa League group stages - the league is top priority in my eyes. We need to show more than in the years gone by. I don't think we will win the league this year, I think we still have too many weaknesses, as shown the last couple of games. I think we need to show consistency and then the fans will show some trust in the players - getting to the Europa League was the start of that, but they need to earn it and it's been a long time since we've been able to trust a set of players. It doesn't come overnight. We need to keep narrowing the gap. Our players should improve as they get used to playing beside each other and I think as long as the momentum builds this season. Of course I'd love to be wrong, but I think we need a another 2 to 3 transfer windows to get a squad capable of competing. The most disappointing aspect of yesterday's game for me is that in the position Gerrard was so dominant in, we were completely overran. That can't happen again I think if this is going to be a successful era, Gerrard needs consistent results.. and an old firm win by the end of the season. I see these as minimum. I also would love us to win one of the cups, I think it would be a real boost for these guys. Be interesting to see what happens, don't forget our club 'died', yet their players and fans celebrated that 1 nil win like they'd won the champions League. Why do they care so much about 'sevco' We are the only show in town that matters and they know it. It's up to the manager and lads on the pitch to show it.
  8. Can't disagree with any of that. Fucking delighted we have come this far
  9. Gerrard getting credit for AH is interesting, barring his awful appearance against them last year, I actually thought AH did well when he came back from his loan spell. Never good enough to start, but good to have in the squad.
  10. Apologies our posts don't meet your high standards.
  11. Perhaps some were ott. I'd add I still think mine was fair and reflective. If any were ott, it's reflective of a spell of poor performances and an awful attitude shown by Morelos after the China move talk. The man was on fire at the start of last season and fans wanted to see that side of him but he didn't seem interested. I never wanted him to go, he's 22 and I see a player with real potential, always have done, however if you don't produce the good Rangers is no place for passengers, as players like waghorn found out. I read something that waghorn was directly involved in more goals (goals and assists) than any other player in the championship last year. Who knows maybe if we'd shown the same patience we showed with Morelos, maybe he'd have turned it round for us. Maybe he just had a lucky season last year. Either way he wasn't showing it so the decision was made that he should go and prior to that some of our fans got on his back. It's no different to any striker we've had in. Morelos is no exception either Irrespective of those, digging through posts is not needed, you knew some had been excessive in their criticism, why go through all those posts to prove it?
  12. The fuck was this? Requoting posts from July? Some from april. That's tragic. I actually stand by the post. Waghorn was on fire for Ipswich and would probably cost 5 mill plus - got an 8 mill move as a result. Morelos brings something to the team even when he's not scoring - his work rate, pressing of defenders. Morelos needs to find his shooting boots theyve been AWOL since xmas- he seems to have done this, there has been a marked improvement from him, which is why we should never have let him go for anything like 3 million pounds. Digging up posts from months ago - pathetic.
  13. Honestly so fuck? It's a slip up. He said the wrong name. McCoist clearly knew it was good in the sticks. He clearly meant Morelos should have smashed home the 1st effort, not left any doubt. So easy for folk on here to start a McCoist bashing sesh. Quit moaning and enjoy the start we've had.
  14. You ever think about following the Rangers ??
  15. This... Too much talk and false expectations from previous regimes. (Warburton in particular) Feels like we are building something special, but then it felt like that after 10 games under Warburton. Until Gerrard delivers 55, he is just a manager who has made a promising start. The one thing I do agree with is keeping the feel good factor going, it's tremendous.
  16. A fair shout too, they did seem to be doing well without him. I'm not a fan of our youth system anyway to be fair. In the lower leagues we brought through 2 decent players (for that level) McKay and MacLeod. Since then we've brought through mccrorie, who clearly isn't as good as the players we have brought in. Middleton spent less than 6 months in our youth team so I'm not even counting him. We should be doing more in that space in my opinion.
  17. Didn't think there was anything wrong with this last night, still don't today. Their player/bench were a joke at this incident the way they came rushing out.
  18. He's not. With the way things have gone... The last thing I want to do is imagine he was in charge again. Glad he's back down to the youth job. Actually think he's got the right temperament to do that... Nurture the kids through
  19. Or Dean Windass depending on what's been going on.
  20. For me it's been summed up already, everyone to a man has stepped up in the games under Gerrard thus far. No passengers. Windass ran his socks off against Aberdeen, but I wouldn't trust him to do it throughout the season. The question I have now is who steps up and scores the goals that he scored. That's the challenge for the team. Windass had some really good moments last season and some really poor ones too. At Wigan I expect he will stand out as the pressure is less, but it should mean we benefit from the sell on clause that's been mentioned. I don't think we can afford passengers and windass was guilty of being one fairly often. Hopefully the cash is reinvested in a player who offers more.
  21. This was in a group chat could be someone speaking a load of shite. Hopefully.
  22. Hearing talk he's suffered another setback? Is this true? Hopefully not anything major if it is true. 21 and not even played the same number of professional games.
  23. I agree. He has my respect for what he's done and he's had some great moments, but he doesn't have the leadership that McGregor has. McGregor is more consistent and commands the box better. It's a ruthless results based sport. Wes can hold his head relatively high, but truth is he's not quite good enough in my opinion.
  24. Thought he was tremendous tonight and it will be a real confidence booster for him... hopefully
  25. Got to say... It's early days... The real teso of this team is when we lose a couple of games... Do they crumble or keep going. That's where I think characters like McGregor will add to the side. At this stage bringing him back looks a no brainer
