  1. i thought weiss was good when he first came, but then for some reason he started fannying about on the ball and lost it more than he delivered it. instead of passing it on he's find himself at a dead end and the attack lost its potency when he needed to pass back due to opposition pressure. i'm not bothered about him coming back tbh
  2. http://www.rangers.co.uk/articles/20110729/a-chance-to-shine_2254024_2405107 even from that pic, his right knee looks about to pop! lol :broadfoot:
  3. The guy looks good, but know nothing of him to be honest, thought the name does ring a bell. Amato was a great player, for some reason if I remember back, he wasn't given a proper chance at Rangers, but did very well whenever he was on the park. We'd be lucky to sign a player of Amatos quality nowadays, hope this guy is in the same league - that'd be great! I guess we're not interested in goodwillie now? EDIT: Denis Abraao, who represents the Porto Alegre based club, said the contract with the Argentinian is likely to be finalised over the weekend. "I have to say that I had already mentioned Amato`s name to Gremio," said Abraao. "I saw him play in 1998 when he was at Real Mallorca and since then I was enchanted by his football. I do not understand why he is not a first choice starter with Rangers."
  4. im kinda excited by this, if he's half the player he was, he'll still rip the spl defenders to shreds
  5. thats the only attacking player i really really want to see come in atm i think that would be a great peice of business
  6. OK i bet whitty would do a better job as a CM than CB, i also think McCulloch would 2 if he was told to attack instead of sit in. we have davis, edu and ness and are starting to get wingers in. we have lafferty and naismith who can play on the wing - we have a descent amount of attacking options. i think your own logic is going against you like i said central defense is more of a critical area than midfeild - mess up in defense and we have the goalkeeper left to save us, mess up in midfield and we have the defence and the goalkeeper. pretty straight forward imo
  7. lol i know, i'm just chatting having a bid in for a player does'nt mean he's signed
  8. You know, i cringe when people talk of other players filling in as CBs, it is the one part of the pitch that you SHOULD have real positioned players in - and ideally have a strong partnership forming over many games. It is a critical part of the pitch - one mistake and a goal can be lost, having players who are not naturally centerbacks filling in is just not on in my opinion. I would have had this area of the pitch sorted before even considering other outfield players. Although, i do think thats the way our staff have seen things and have just been unlucky so far. Weir - getting past it, gets done for pace constantly Goian - untested, hopefully he'll be excellent for us Broadfoot - pathetic even mentioning this guys name, his donkey defensive play has been laughable so far Papac - not overy confident heading the ball - he admitted that in an interview - no chance imo Whittaker - struggles to defend down the right as a fullback, he is a better attacker McCulloch - this guy is a striker, and frankly, was only ever ok in defense along side better defenders. so, we have Goian. rest my case
  9. agreed, what kind of kick in the face would it be to papac if he was replaced by a newbie youngster after performing so well for so many years? do people not think of these things? making sure players are relatively happy and treated fairly is an important part of management
  10. if we go out of europe i dont think it will be as interesting for him to come i also wonder if he's watching to see if mccoist is up to the job, perhaps this is why he's taking his time?
  11. why do people keep saying we need one center half? especially if boogie goes we require 2 - at least that is if you think weir will be peak fitness for whole year of enjoy the excitement of watching people like this :broadfoot: try to defend? i say, bring in cuellar - if possible, and have a true talented youngster come in ready to learn from weir. we don't know if this new guy is going to be any good - we know all about cuellar
  12. i'd advise mccoist to pin that story in the dressing room now it might get our players to start bothering their arses :broadfoot:
  13. so you are not interested in any against arguments? you just brush them aside using the excuse it's just the usual from rangers fans? i have been very complimentary to ortiz from his very first game - preseason or not. i feel there is a flaw in your logic try this on for size - be optomistic about the good things and dont be foolish not to see the bad things - it's called staying in touch with reality. for example - i want ally to stay as he is not the problem as far as i can see it - the players are shadows of their former selves atm
  14. I can't believe some opinions on here, fair enough if you all think wallace stood out. I just though he had an ok start - and that's me being nice. Wallaces job was to feed ortiz - how many times did you see that happening? very little! When ortiz finally did get the ball he put in some excellent balls. I also remember Wallace giving away the ball which nearly led to a goal - a school boy error. First game though. Greegs was the only good player, Ortiz looked good when he was eventually fed, and jelavic was crap first half but better in the second. Though Jelly wasn't really fed much the whole night tbh. Davis worked hard but did nothing - his passing was woeful at times - in fact everyone not mentioned including davis couldn't pass the ball correctly.
  15. i'm sorry, i dont think it's anything to do with mccoist, the players have been shockingly uninterested and not match sharp in any shape or form since the start of preseason onwards. i dont see what more mccoist can do, for example - take boogie clearly the guy isn't interested in playing for us anymore, what is mccoist supposed to do with a player like that? it's almost as if the backbone of the team have got their magic super long deals with ££££££ each week and they cant be bothered fighting for the cause anymore. if players were looking decent in pockets i might wonder about the tactic - but the players cant even pass now. they cant find the passing distance. it's pathetic but true.
  16. i thought davis was very poor, he worked the hardest probably, but frankly he constantly lost the ball and his passing was very very poor.
  17. greegs was the only outstanding performer, i'd say ortiz did whenever he was fed - so not his fault at all, and likewise jela did well with what he was given EDIT i didn't put wallace as although it was his debut, i'm not holding back - he didn't feed ortiz much at all - that was a major part of his job
  18. another thing that annoys me, arent' we crying out for attacking midfielders? if so, we have mcculoch who is really a striker who was played in defense due to his arial abilities. but surely he's naturally an attacker? i would have him attacking in midfield beside davis - get edu to fuck EDIT: also, i'm not a fan of jigg but make him the captain, looks like he's the only one with bottle in the side
  19. edu actually looked like he was getting into areas where he was less likely to get the ball on purpose
  20. im sorry, mccoist is not to blame for every single player not bothering their arses i dont think it would matter what combination of players or tactics he played tonight - they would still be dross they have looked like shadows of themselves since preseason
  21. if i was whyte id give mccoist no money until we go through this tie he's a smart business man, and if this continues, sadly super ally wont last long
  22. the same lessons we should have learned from the hearts game? i fear you're being too optomistic the whole squad need their arses kicked
  23. another thing - even before he got the captaincy i laughed at the idea of davis being captain DAVIS IS NOT CAPTAIN MATERIAL - NO CHANCE
  24. no players played well - except greegs but then again he is world class
  25. what the hell's up with our players? i even agree with neven, every player looks like they were playing at around 75% i'd say even less than that do they think they're fucking special or what? you're pish unless you work hard lads - and you didn't bother your arses
