  1. Read on Sky that some taxi driver claims to have dropped off the irish striker we were tailing during the summer, cant remember the nams to fluffing tired. One bitch puppy down four more to go.
  2. Morning or whatever where ever you are. Sitting up at 2.30pm in the morning here in Adelaide watching our Staffy have her puppies and thought i would drop a wee note on the forum. With the transfer deadline looming are we going to strengthen. We need one attacking midfielder and a robust forward to get Boyd into the game. Hopefully we will see the young guns get a chance as we streak away from the Munsters.
  3. Yip thats the boy from Perth Glory, wont try and spell it but he can move. Makes Lovenkrands look pedestrian and knows where the goals are.
  4. Nah mate watch him all the time over here, has hit form but wouldn't cut the mustard. Adelaide have two boys playing for them that would be worth a trial, Nathan Burns and Christian Sarkies. Burns plays up front and has great movement, Sarkies doesn't start as often but plays a solid pass and moves around the pitch well. There is also a young fella playing for another team, i think he is Croation faster than Lovenkrands with a better touch and hard with it.
  5. Had a warm Australia day in Adelaide, put the boat out at ten burnt to a cinder by noon. Watched the Saints game about an hour ago on Setanta and we were poor, but all we need is one good midfielder and we should romp it.
  6. With only getting to see limited coverage of the games down under i could make a fool of myself here but of late i have to say that Boyd would be better suited to the two wing men we play. When we attack down both wings we need someone to prowl the 6 yard box, in my opinion Cousin is coming too deep to collect the ball we don't need that, we have a three man midfield to do that job. With Naismith and Burke running at defences and the three in the middle holding we should be standing on the last man instead of taking the pressure off them. Imagine defending against the two on the wings and the realisation hits you that if you miss time your tackle and let them get the ball into the 6 yard box Scotlands one true 6 yard box man is waiting to hit the onion bag, that would worry me. I think if Cousin moves on then we must use Boyd as the out and out striker that he is, Goals win games not fancy flicks and movement.
  7. First of all, where will the cash come from? A new Hotel will be self sufficient making profit but it wont stand on its own two feet in the middle of Ibrox as it is at the moment, more will need to be spent on the immediate surrounding area. Will this be a fledgling company set up by SDM or will it be his already profitable real estate business that push this through. Which ever way it happens i couldnt care, basic economics must be dealt with here. We can no longer allow the pond dwellers to out muscle us financially and this would do for starters. 70,000 seater stadium with forward planning not only for sport but concerts etc would be a stand up cash bonanza if its managed properly and we are aggressive in seeking big acts to fill the stadium. A hotel and other add ons if the cash was to go to Rangers would certainly help, ala Chelsea. Lets see what transpires, it may be outside finance it may be a joint venture but whatever it is and where it comes from i couldnt care as long as the Gers benefit. WATP
  8. Flippin, when my mother died it was a first for me i hadn't lost any immediate family before and she was still young at 58, so the whole thing was a new situation to be in. I got on with life and the basic respect of an apology and our thoughts are with you was more than enough. When some people went overboard i honestly could have slapped them, dignity and respect means to allow them that in death as you would in life. Where does that leave the OF game i still think the minutes silence would have been more respectful. I wouldn't expect someone who didn't know my mother to change there whole day or close down there workplace, but if they were to stand head bowed as we passed i would be happy. Basic respect, life goes on but we acknowledge your loss.
  9. Firstly Happy New Year from Oz, i hope everyone even the Tims have a safe and prosperous 2008. The recent death of POD has caused some uproar from a few and some calming from others but the bottom line is how you show respect and react to someone passing away. If Celtic want to retain some dignity in this then they should approach the SPL/SFA and agree to a status Quo on player suspensions. Rangers being a club of integrity have agreed to a postponement because some one from within the game has passed on while playing the game. But how do you show respect? My mother passed away only a couple of months ago and i had to make some hard calls, i live in Adelaide she in Scotland. I went to work as normal on the Monday and only left work to return home to Scotland when everything was finalised, this took 10 days, she died abroad. Anyway as i asked how do you show respect, i carried on as best i could and life went on until such times that i could get home, i had many people show respect by showing some basic feelings and if they could they would attend the funeral work permitting . The fact is that life goes on and taking some time out to show some common decency was enough for me. Should the game come to a halt , i dont know. Should Celtic show some respect to Rangers, would i, i dont know. Should we all show some respect to POD, 100% and if you cant you have some problems. Would the players and fans playing with black armbands and a minutes silence be enough for me, 100%, dignity and respect would have been served as best we can. Now we will not be able to show that respect or will we still be required to have a minutes silence for the re arranged game, the answers are in there some where but i cant be sure what i think. Anyway RIP Phil and all the best to your friends and family.
  10. Haven't read all the replies so excuse me if i repeat anyone. Rangers and its history is a thing of great pride and something we should all share in. However we have been guilty of some silly things from a supporters point of view, although no worse than our good friends from across the city. All we have done is sing songs and chant at our enemy as they have to us. This makes neither group of supporters guilty of any great crime, if anything this may have backfired on the few who thought Rangers supporters would have to toe the line if they highlighted our songs etc. This has actually turned full circle to the point that the Celtic board have issued warnings to there own fans. We if anything are guilty of political correctness, we have if anything been to quick to give up some of our heritage and traditional songs for fear of reprisal when if we had stood up for ourselves and demanded the right to protect our history then we may be in a better position than we are now. We are a protestant club, however there is no pre requisite that you must be protestant to support our team. We have no known ties with terrorists, we have no known links with child abuse, we have no known links with journalists who at any cost will tell lies about our rivals at any cost. We have remained above the inferiority complex well known to our city rivals,at what cost. We are now fighting our corner because we tried to change with the times only to weaken our position, it is now time to stand up for our beliefs in both our club and its history. If one half of Glasgow can rightly boast of there Catholic heritage then this great institution has the same rights. I am a Rangers supporter i am Protestant and i am proud of my club and its history and under no circumstances should we give another inch to the so called impartial press and politicians. We have always been loyal subjects of our country and never backed the enemy at war or the terrorists who tried to murder and maim its way across the UK. This is something we should be proud of and never allow anyone to bully us or shame us into submission. Let it be known of the Celtic fans hatred of all things British and support of terrorism worldwide, let it be known that they lie in bed with murdering scum the world over. When this becomes common knowledge maybe they will have to renounce there ties with the terrorist organisations which openly kill the innocent. Spread the word in every forum, when you meet someone or in the press highlight the fact that TGFITW are nothing but supporters of terrorists. Rant over We are and always will be the people.
  11. The way we go about it is what counts, we should highlight the fact that Celtic had a child abuser on the staff and knowingly hid the fact. Now that GG has given it both air and press time means that he has bit and helped air the cause, he cant help himself and will continue to do harm to his own club because he always has to have the last word. I bet some of the non football people who have now read his column are raising an eyebrow of that moral giant Celtic FC and asking some questions now. So carry on George and help our cause because you cant help yourself. Your supposed crusade about BJK was not in the least bit convincing. Remember Bears spin can be positive and negative and of late GG has put a negative spin on his club.
  12. Travelling home from Oz on Sunday for my Mums funeral and would love a ticket for the Stutgart game , anyone help.
  13. Who are the top goal scorers for the old firm this season and where are they now. The reason being i think Celtic may have just sold the league for £3mil, i dont see anyone else in there squad scoring a barrow load, in the other hand we have now got the most versatile front line that i can remember plus the goals that will come from our midfield.
  14. A friend works with a former employer of mine and at a recent advertising meeting the boss, a diehard bluenose, talked about black balling the Record and associated companies from there list of suppliers. I know what they used to spend in recruitment ads and advertising and have to say that a 6 figure sum could well walk away from them if they continue down this line. I have no doubt the head man will do it as he owns the company and is so single minded he will pull the carpet without a care. Now business is business and i dont think any company would like to lose that kind of customer, but then again it is the Record and they have really lost the plot and become a 3rd rate paper over the last few years. Direct action is called for, they think this gutter journalism sells papers because it causes uproar. I think the directors of the paper are calling this wrong it will cost them money. Anyway if you buy or advertise or put money to this paper or you know someone who does look at the alternatives and take your cash elsewhere, now that will hurt.
  15. Havent seen the Gers live in some time and got setanta fitted during the week i am so fluffing excited as living in Oz we dont get the games. Pushed the boat out and got surround sound to go with the cinema screen i call telly and a top of the range dvd recorder so that i can copy the games for my not so fortunate mates. Roll on the game cant wait, need to slow down on the beer or i wont see anything, yeeeeehaaa. :classier_than_pipeguy: :pipehorse:
  16. Legend, hope he gets his life sorted. LEGEND in case any of the young guys on here never got the chance to see him, he was along with Laudrup, the best in my time.
  17. Strikers go through dry spells but we need to play him at least 45 mins per game to get through it.
  18. The budget may also include wages etc, as the 10mil is on transfer payments only. We may have had to pay higher wages hence the budget may be over the wage expectation set.
  19. Laughed at the pics but one of the comments below is accurate 100% about something falling off and nearly getting the game called off. The story is fact as i was involved in the panic of trying to get it fixed. The construction company who are well known and named after our other national drink had a major problem when some cladding that was fixed by the wrong method, saving costs or bad workmanship i dont know, came away from the top of the stand. I worked for a well known plant hire company in Glasgow at the time who supplied cherry pickers and had been chasing work with the contractor at the time. And the phone call went something like this. Hey Stevie its Gordon from ----- we have an emergency and need the biggest cherry picker we can get to Parkhead the roof is falling off can you get it there asap, as he laughed, he explained if it wasnt fixed the game coming up would have to be cancelled. Now i was visiting the rellies in Rothesay at the time and thought can i help or not, the rest is open for discussion. And another occasion comes to the surface, whilst working for another company in the same line of business i was asked to look at a job inside the ground to do with the telly gantry, i had a look at the problem which had arisen and was shocked at what i saw. If it is still the same i wouldnt be surprised but here we go, standing in front of the main stand to the right hand side of the tunnel at the foremost right hand corner nearest the pitch the roof was jammed up by a piece of four by two between the steel pirlings, quality. The main problem was that the gantry frame was made of box section and was fitted to tubular section with minimal contact and did not pass the building licence requirements. To get into the box you have to climb onto the roof of the stand climb down into a walking gantry and then into the box itself. I was amazed at what i saw the power points were not fixed properly and there were dangerous wires lying about everwhere, the steel sections were not welded to any great standard. Again there was a crucial champions league game coming up and they were under pressure to get it done or no game. I measured it up and explained that they had to take a certain size truck in to do the job but would need to encroach on the corner of the pitch, the groundsman said no way i said no game see you later. My client shit himself as i walked away saying that they had ten minutes to resolve the problem as i was commiting the only truck in Scotland that could do the job to Ibrox for maintenance, not major repair. FCUK did i have a smile on my face when i walked away, best ten minutes i had in some time. Other than the time with the blonde from penilee but that for another time. Greetings from Adelaide Australia bears.
  20. Celtic linked with this boy, please dont let it happen. This boy is a sensation in the making and Rangers should drop all interest elswhere and look at him, he is a future genius. He has it all in the locker in an attacking sense and would be one of the best signings the club could ever make, go WS have a look.
  21. At a golf outing many years ago i got talking to Amoruso and he swore that Amato was the most gifted player he had ever seen anywhere.
  22. I met the man on a few occasions and he was brilliant, what i would do just now to help him through his problems. I am sure there are many who would help him and maybe he needs to know that. What about the forum sending a card to the great man its the least we can do. LEGEND
  23. Prior to leaving Scotland for OZ 3 years ago Rangers had asked for some reports and prices on various ways of expanding the stadium. I would rather Rangers played it tight in the transfer market and extended the stadium and invested some of the money on growing our global brand this would allow us to eventually reinvest in the playing staff via higher generated income. I also believe that UEFA are under pressure from member countries like Scotland who have a couple of big teams but dont have the financial clout, to get a euro league up and running. This we need to forward plan for and extending the stadium is a good place to start.
  24. Okay do i really care if we piss another team off, not in the slightest, i dont support them and dont care about them. Am i worried about how we look in the transfer market, slightly but id rather we paid decent money for players than pay over the odds and go back down the old road again. For over a decade we paid over the odds on several players signed, some injured players etc and we were put to the sword. Now we are being more prudent i am happier. As for Killie and the likes complaining about the bids we have put in, valuations by the vendor and buyer always differ. They rate them at 2 mil we rate them at 1 mil who is wrong and remember it is your money that pays for some of these duds surely they should be prudent with someone elses money. We might be a little slow but what i can say is remember the caliber of player WS found for us last time round.
  25. Why did Miller leave Clyde ? Maybe they knew the porkies that were being told and asked him to leave. Now the Clyde board have to deal with the backlash on this but what about Miller and the phress. Roberts should have asked for a front page apology from all concerned.
