  1. Sorry on phone and it is 1am here in Oz, that only made half sense. Fkn touch screens!
  2. it its current to these accounts as I understand it. The period of time that the tax should have been paid is not relevant, the relevant thing for the accounts is that as it stands today, therefore is a potential/contingent liability that would have to be paid. The auditors would be sitting there saying to the directors something like "guys, we can sign off the accounts right now, but we are auditors, we need to take the most conservative view, which means you owe HMRC the full amount, which means you have debts you cannot pay, which means the company is not a going concern, which means the accounts are 'qualified' for this". If that happens, the directors have to immediately place the company in to administration or risk criminal charges. Or...they can do what they are doing now, which its wait for clarity, and hopefully avoid administration.
  3. spot on, unless Whyte and other directors are keen to spend some time in the big house if we lose the tax case...
  4. In order to finalize the audit of accounts, they need to have clarity on the tax case. They could finalize the audit today, but the accounts would be QUALIFIED on the basis that the potential tax liability could be of an amount that would mean the company cannot pay it (I.e. is not a "going concern" in the parlance). As soon as you have qualified audit regarding going concern issues it becomes self fulfilling for directors as you are at risk of trading whilst insolvent which can lead to criminal convictions - the only way around that for directors is to put the company into administration. So whilst this all sounds grim imho it is ok - directors and auditors are waiting on clarity on tax case, which will either result in unqualified accounts (good) or qualified accounts due to lack of a going concern and then administration (bad). If they were to jump now and finalize.the.accounts, it just leads to the.administration which noone wants. This is all company law and accounting shite and should not.impact our player trading.
  5. he has looked pretty stressed recently but was great to see him smiling and laughing a bit on the sidelines yesterday
  6. This thread is like a bad game of ping pong
  7. BBC Live Text commentary on Healy is classic.. 1328: David Healy is presented with the chance to double his tally but he swings his left leg at the ball much like one of those ridiculous telescopic putters, and the chance is wasted. 1323: Rangers goalscorer David Healy and Nikica Jelavic play a one-two on the edge of the box. Healy tries his luck with a chip from 18 yards but the ball goes so wide of the goal I'd like a close-up of his footwear to check he isn't wearing his grannie's brogues. :D :D :D
  8. Ally is looking older, fatter and more stressed by the week...tough gig
  9. Big change in climate at this time of year from Glasgow to Brisbane fair to say so might be personal problems with the wife! Plus first Christmas away from home...etc etc..might be..
  10. Relax there son. It is bollocks to suggest that because the Roar are having a bad trot McKay should return home. And being Australian qualifies me to comment on the relative merit of the A-League because I see the rubbish first hand week in week out. oh and your comment about Melbourne is just laughable, immature.
  11. Tonga, Togo, Vanuatu, FYROM all the feckin same!
  12. tbf, Australia is now in Asia so play Middle East and Asian teams for WCup qualifying, no more Asia Pacific with Togo and Fiji
  13. What a load of bollocks. If he does this he is a quitter. Ffs his choice is simple, knuckle down and try to break in to the first team at Gers and play UCL next season or have no fighting spirit and go back to the pish A-League playing for a "franchise" rather than a club. Mate I am an aussie also and think our league is Ok but the choice should be straight forward for him. Only way this changes is if he got busted shagging Allys birds, then he may as well pack his bags up...
  14. One of the benefits of living in Oz...can wear it proud without fear of aggro in public That said, at the Pharmacy of all places the other day a fat fuck tim in a hooped shirt yelled some garbled rubbish at me because of a Gers keyring on my keys of all things. I generally only wear mine about the house or if I am running down the shops for a quick shop, never would wear one out properly though. Have to admit to pulling one on for watching every game in the middle of the night though, small way to feel part of it when 10,000 miles away!
  15. Like a few others, I feel like I was too young during nine in a row to fully appreciate the more technical aspects of the talent in the team, so would love to wind back to day 1 of 9iar. Still have a stack of old VHS in a box at the parents place though that I might need to dig out as a compromise... Seem to recall in that box of tapes is the 92 cup final against Airdrie (my grandpa's team) and a cracking volley from Super Ally that I would like to see again.
  16. Aye, cos the natural ability of our squad of players is comparable to Barca...
