  8. A Scottish League team last played in 1990, to mark the league's centenary, in a match against the Scotland national team.[18] The manager of the Scottish League team was Dundee United manager Jim McLean.[18] The Scottish League select won 1–0, with the only goal scored from a penalty kick by Dutch player Hans Gillhaus.[19] [edit] Players For a list of all Scottish League XI players with a Wikipedia article, see Category:Scottish Football League representative players. A Scottish League XI was last selected in 1990, by Dundee United manager Jim McLean.[18] The following team, dominated by players from the New Firm of Aberdeen and Dundee United, was selected by McLean:[18] Theo Snelders (Aberdeen) Gary Stevens (Rangers) David Robertson (Aberdeen) Jim McInally (Dundee United) Miodrag Krivokapić (Dundee United) Freddie van der Hoorn (Dundee United) Istvan Kozma (Dunfermline) Paul Lambert (St. Mirren) Charlie Nicholas (Celtic) Bobby Connor (Aberdeen) Hans Gillhaus (Aberdeen) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scottish_Football_League_XI

  17. I'm under no illusion that the current investors are in there purely to make a profit - division 3 football has undoubtedly scuppered their plans to sell-on the club as as attractive proposition. Maybe just maybe...this isn't such a terrible thing. Could division 3 football give CG the impetus to reopen negotiations with Walter's consortium...? To some degree, the deck is no longer so well stacked in CG's favour. In light of current conditions perhaps the existing investors would be happy to receive a return of investment (plus a minimal profit). Of course I'm being extremely optimistic, but our current position could attract attention from investors who are genuinely passionate about our club. Who's to say though. I guess we'll be in a more informed position once the 'dust has settled'.
