  1. Look, Green provided the ammo for this. When ye've got these eejits on yer case 24/7 you need to be a bit more circumspect.
  2. Absolutely. Someone in CG's position knows he's gonna get it stiff if he comes out with anything remotely like this.
  3. Course we canny sign kaffliks. Never had one, never will. Came close once and only once wi' that guy Mo. Coulda been struggling there if he hadn't turned proddy and joined the ludge. We've had more catholic players than that lot have had brains and potatoes. And potatoes for brains.
  4. I liked Thomson a lot when he was at Ibrox. But it is rarely right to go back and he is far too big a risk.
  5. I'm surprised that when Dundee Utd, Aberdeen, Hearts & Hibs see how easy it would be for any one of them to be in the bottom 4 that it doesn't refocus their point of view. This 3 x 8 idea is a bigger farce than the current split. The SPL must now have set a new world record for misjudgements: 1. Chuck Rangers (and more importantly the blue £) out of their league. 2. Chuck out a proposal to alter voting structure. 3. Have that voting structure come back and bite the arse that is reconstruction. I think they'll get their next vote right mind you. The one of no confidence in Mr Doncaster.
  6. I hope nobody's holding their breath while they wait on a dividend. I've invested, and it's basically an emotional investment because I doubt I'll ever cash in. However unlike the OP I am reasonably worldly wise in the stock market. I reckon the Rangers shares will make you an odd bob or two if you are able to hang on for 2 or 3 years and sell then. For what it's worth.
  7. A wee word wi' the advertising watch dog about the attendance figures they dream up might generate a wee laugh for us! Or every time toothrot comes out with the fantasy that one of his players is worth £25m+.
  8. Charles, the words you are looking for are "kiss my arse".
  9. I really can't understand two obvious things here. 1. Why, if this can't be rushed through for 13/14, should it mean that all bets are off. The whole set up needs looking at and if it takes a year to get it right then so be it. Surely the important thing is to get a solution that is right and is widely supported by clubs AND fans. 2. Why is nobody asking Doncaster why this attitude is being taken. It's obvious to even them with two glass eyes that summat ain't plumb here. Surely somebody somewhere has the cojones to demand answers. And two questions for Doncaster. Where's our cash and what's the details of yer Sky deal?
  10. There seems to me to be two polarised views on this board. There are those who have had enough of Ally and wand rid and there's others that think he's untouchable and won't have him criticised. There's a host of excuses you can cite as the reasons why we are at such a low ebb but the fact is we should still be able to produce a little quality entertaining football and give signs that we are developing and improving. There's none of that. You'll tell me that we are skooshing the division but, hey, that's the absolute minimum we can expect with our resources. As for Ally, I always have been a fan. Player, pundit, quiz personality, assistant to Smiffy, all time hero during the recent debacle, etc, I've always liked him and still do. Now, despite all the comedy stuff, Ally's no fool and he must realise he's not cutting it. IMO Ally would walk for the good of the club but I think he will genuinely believe that he's the man to turn it round. The big problem is the fact that he probably isn't. Sadly football is a business nowadays and a business decision has to be taken. It would break our hearts if Ally had to be pushed. He can step aside at the end of this season totally untarnished. He would always be the man who almost single handedly pulled us through all the shit we've had to endure this last year or so and one of our greatest football legends. Surely that is what we want for him. I'm glad such great numbers are sticking by Ally but there comes a time when blind loyalty has to give way to reality.
  11. I wouldn't worry too much about being born after '75. I started following the Gers in the mid-50's and I am now watching the worst side in my history. Whether he should have said it or not is another debate, but Green was spot on in his judgement. I know that Greig's era was a low point but his team were getting panned for finishing in the top half of the top division. Could you see our present squad doing that? I am not even convinced that the present squad is capable of getting us back to the top tier neve mind hold our own I when we get there. Many like to blame the transfer embargo for our current state but the fact is we did get a window to get players in and made a hash of it. I wouldn't judge Ally too much on last summer's signings. I think he has been unlucky with the likes of Shiels, Black, Kyle and Templeton who should all have performed at this level. Even Tempeton, who has been the best of the bunch, hasn't really provided enough IMO. However Ally's signings previously, when there was no pending embargo, have not inspired confidence. When we do rise to the top again (and we will) I want to be sticking it to all these stnuc that stamped on us when we were weakened. That's a long way off I fear. I have heard £10m mentioned as being available for the squad. That has to be really well spent, we can't afford to squander it because, unlike a few years ago, there ain't gonna be another £10m there if we cock it up. For now, booing them off the park at the end of every half ain't any solution. We must stay behind the team and pray for better times.
  12. Sooner or later the disposition of these monies is gonna have to appear in SPL accounts. Whoever is due that money, and the one thing we DO know is that it ain't the SPL, then they re gonna be wanting it complete with accrued interest. It's either the Club's or it's the PLC's and I can't see Green or BDO letting it go. Do the SFA have some of our dosh also?
  13. At this rate we'll be doing well to get any of them to vote before next season, never mind actually get a new structure in place. The SPL just want something that starts 12-12, they couldn't give a toss what happens to the rest. 12-12-18 seems nobody wants or they are too scared that they'll piss us off even more, 12-12-10-10 can anybody tell me why that is so much different from 12-10-10-10. IMO 16-16-10 with a view to move to 16-16-16 later to let extra clubs in at the bottom and/ or colts. Do that along with a restructured league cup (mini-league format, initially regionalised, top 8 clubs seeded) to make up for lost fixtures. One ruling body, SPL/SFL/SFA all binned totally new guy to head up new body, Reagan/Doncaster sent back where they came from and never again allowed to cross the Scottish border. There must me near on half a million to save on those wankers wages alone. You'd get a few goal line cameras for that.
  14. There's no room for that level of sentiment. At the moment we haven't any semblance of a half decent team and the buck stops at Ally. Sure, we all love him. He was a legend as a player and he was elevated to God status with what he did during the last year. But business is business.
  15. We might be 17 points clear but what we should be worried about is that we've dropped 18 points now to pub teams. We managed a result against Motherwell but got outclassed in our other two matches against top tier clubs and one of them is a bottom six club. We should not be leaving it until the last minute to prepare for top tier football and our next punt at Europe. Fair enough the side was reduced to a shell in the summer but the fact is we are seeing no sign of progress. The fact that Div three will be won in a canter is not a sign of success, it's the least we can have expected and it's actually turned out harder than it should have been. We certainly don't want Ally shat on from a great height but if he doesn't have the nous to see it for himself then hard business decisions have to be made. Maybe not this minute but soon. An important financial consideration is that Ally has not got a good track record for who he has brought in so there is a question mark over whether or not he should be allowed to use funds. The days are gone when signing mistakes can be quickly cured by more dipping into the transfer market. Don't see Green allowing an oversized squad on his watch with an expensive wage bill. I think there is plenty to worry about, crisis or no crisis.
  16. I think it's fair to say that Murray was sailing close to the wind between what was hunky dory with these EBTs and what was beyond the scope. However he was doing no worse than what thousands of businesses do every day in trying to minimise tax liability. What I find sinister in all this is the witch hunt in Rangers particular case. The attitude, that we are guilty of the most heinous of crimes and only the severest punishment is appropriate, is indicative of a very sad culture pervading Scotland. The hounding of the club has been totally unjustified. They have used the oldco/newco arguments entirely to suit an agenda where they can down Rangers by taking the worst aspect of either side of the coin and applying it to us. They were quite happy for us to be victimised by HMRC. They were quite happy for the 'independent' commission to sit in judgement. Now that the FTTT & LNS have not delivered what they want to hear they are up in arms. I am well enjoying their discomfort and frustration.
  17. They conspired to get us out and now they are conspiring to get us back. If you were writing a book you widnae make it up. Perhaps, for starters, if they lift their illegal transfer embargo, sack Reagan & Doncaster and pay us all the money they owe us then we could maybe, just maybe, consider it. These corrupt bastarts thought they could kick sh1te out of us because we were gonna end up mortally wounded when HMRC won the tribunal and the LNS Commission stripped us of a load of titles and cups. They deserve any disasters that are coming their way..
  18. On a personal note, I will count our 55th title as being the next time we win the top tier. The lower league titles just go under other successes for me. However I am all for claiming this title as our 55th and milking it to death. The haters are already imploding and I reckon we could get a fair few to self combust if we give the celebrations big licks. If the unwashed get to the cup final then a celebratory open day at Ibrox on the same date would probably draw a bigger crowd than theirs.
  19. Wonder how many of the 200 prosecutions were sheepshaggers singing offensive shite about those who perished on 2nd January 1971? Tbh I have no problem with legislation that wants keep the nonsense out of football but it is only workable if it is applied with equity across the board. My impression though is that there is an attitude that only Rangers fans have a bampot fringe.
  20. I wonder what happens now with the ££££££s that the SFA/SPL have withheld? Even if they try to keep £250k there's plenty still owing. I reckon there's more brewing on this. If Green doesn't go after that cash I'm pretty sure BDO will be knocking on their door. I think they will be on a sticky legal wicket if they try to get their £250k out of that money. As a matter of interest what happens to money received from club & player fines? If it goes to SFA/SPL coffers then there must be one hell of a conflict of interest in there. Not that they'd worry about it.
  21. A bloke wi' twa glass eyes can see this. Ally & the othe coaches need to sort it. Third div teams are taking the piss with it, God help us against any class outfit. And just as good an idea would be taking them to one side and teaching them how to pass a ball. Pretty basic stuff that we are struggling with.
