Garnock Blue reacted to slimjim1690 in Wee Bud: I forgot to remember how good he was
One of my most cherished memories of bud was in a game against East Fife of all teams  (if memory serves me correct) at Ibrox in the late 60's, the ball got cleared (blootered) out of our box and over the head of the EF right back who was standing about 2/3 yards inside his own half, wee bud was just outside our 18 yard box on the left wing and just took off, I still to this day cannot believe what I saw next, the EF keeper didn't bother coming off his line as he rightfully thought his RB  had it covered but bud had other ideas by the time that the RB realized what was happening it was to late, wee bud actually beat him to the ball about 5yards from the bye line, unfortunately none of the rest of his teammates were as fast as the wee man and the move petered out, but it was an incredible sight to witness and the whole of Ibrox were on their feet cheering the wee fella.
Wee bud gave me many cherished memories and will forever be one of my favourite players till the day I die, it was a privilege to have watched him play for us.

Garnock Blue reacted to BlueSuedeSambas in McCoist: Suggests clarity on New Manager may be forthcoming soon
Some of the stuff I’ve seen posted about him is mental.
Was brought up in one of the most successful academy systems ever, won it all as a player, was assistant manager to a side who reached the World Cup final and then won four titles in six years at Ajax when he broke out on his own.
Two years ago he was one of the most highly sought after coaches in Europe and because he’s made a couple of bad career moves - to clubs who were never great fits to begin with -everybody is making out like he’s a McCoist-esque appointment
He’s just about the closest thing we can get to a Rodgers level of appointment and that’s what people have been saying we have needed for almost two years now.

................"Rangers aren’t the toxic brand they once were, London is taking the Club seriously again and despite the nonsense spouted the club are on fantastic terms with the financial sector in the lands capital. Recent laughable rumours surrounding the club are exactly that, laughable................"
Wonder what evidence the author of the article would put forward to substantiate the claim that 'London' is taking the Club seriously and that the club is on "fantastic terms" with the financial sector.    For that amount of gushing confidence to be poured out there must presumably be information of substance to back it up otherwise it is simply megaphone wishful thinking.    If there are details then lets hear them and we can make a more informed judgement about the claim that the Club is not the toxic brand it once was.
Is the author suggesting that all traces of being toxic are gone, that the Club under the chairmanship and leadership of Dave King has shed all of its toxic image?      I'd be very interested to know what institutional City investors (individuals or corporates) would be marking Rangers score card as 'non-toxic' or 'low levels of financial toxins' when the Chairman has been found in the courts to have orchestrated a concert party with other directors and then failing to comply with the Companies Act.   The list of potential investors who would find that sort of flouting of company law as indicative of corporate behaviours that make for a persil-clean non-toxic outfit in which to invest would make interesting reading imo.
Unless the claims made by the author can be substantiated and verified, then it seems to me the only thing that is truly laughable is any notion that the claims made in the article should be taken even remotely seriously.

Dorrans has the ability and McCrorie has the heart ...whether Dorrans can make an impact remains to be seen but Docherty and Jack are never Rangers class in a million years and im flabbergasted anyone thinks so - it’s like lunacy and blind optimism crossing paths

This is the only known picture of William MacBeath, one of our Gallant Pioneers.
Born in Callander in 1856, William arrived in Glasgow around the same time and street as Peter and Moses McNeil and Peter Campbell. It was that legendary walk in nearby West End Park in May 1872 that the four boys had their dream. A dream that became reality and ultimately the world's most successful football club.
William was man of the match in their first fixture at Fleshers Haugh against FC Callandar. He later moved down South, firstly to the Bristol area and ultimately, Lincoln. Unfortunately as time past William's fortunes and health failed him and he was interred in a pauper's grave in Cranwick Rd Cemetery on the outskirts of Lincoln. But inspired by the Gallant Pioneers book, William's grave was discovered and marked with a gravestone through a collection organised and donated by Bears all over the World.
It is now a shrine and is visited regularly by Rangers fans.
William MacBeath is a Gallant Pioneer, Hall of Fame member and a legend who will never be forgotten.

Man, that photo brings back memories. Mid 80s to early 90s routine of arriving early with my dad before the gates opened and walking down to the Rangers shop bit and getting my wee carton of ribena from the shop a few doors down, then back up to wait for the metallic grind of the gates opening. In to get a couple of pies and a bar of crap yet great Rangers chocolate to watch the ground fill up.
Anyone remember the wee old 'hats, scarves, pendants and badges!' guy that used to sell his stuff at the corner between the Copland and Govan? Wee old fashioned guy with a sheepskin coat and a wee flat cap. He'll be dead now.
