Yes, Celtic have effectively created an image for themselves as the persecuted underdogs. That is the image that runs in the media. This is not because they dominate the media but because they are more effective at getting their narrative over. We've got to use similar weapons to them to combat this. I get the feeling that our pr dept, if we've got one, think that it's all about producing glossy brochures and golf umbrellas or whatever, but it isn't. Like you say, doing it right should not cost the earth.

Having a good pr team is at least as important as having a good team on the pitch. The most important immediate thing is to get a licence. Once that is done, a pr team could work to show how Rangers had acted with great dignity against vindictiveness of other clubs. This is not a message that is getting through to neutrals at the moment. Like I said, let's get a licence, taking whatever sanctions we have to, and then fight it from there.

It seems like most people have missed the point of the OP. The point is that the SPL could open themselves up to charges of negligence and be forced to pay compensation to European teams if we are stripped of titles.

I hope if Friday comes and goes without any agreement that this would still be an option but not certain. I just wish they'd get it sorted. The biggest sanction of all would be to never play again.

Look , the fans will not pump money into the club without getting anything in return. You might, but do you think 50,000 others will. A year out is a lifetime out. The club cannot exist without revenue streams. So call the bluff of the SFA and all we will have is history because there will be no future.

This is the time when we need good publicity. In the right hands, this situation could work for us. However, it needs to be from independent journalists etc. If it was directly from the club then people would say 'well, they would say that'. We need a pr team to brief journos and to get our side of the story out there. It shouldn't be too hard to show the SPL to be a shower of twats.

If Rangers took a gap year then Rangers would be seriously fucked. No money coming in means no club. This idea is a non-starter.

If the SPL continue as they are then they will get some heat from Dundee. OUr share has to be transferred to Dundee to allow them to play in SPL. So SPL are not just threatening our future but that of Dundee as well. It would be potentially chaos for them but I fear that there might be some kamikaze goings on.

No one player should be paid so much more than the rest of the team. It would be very bad for morale.

Brown shows exactly why we do NOT need a 'Rangers man' running things. We want someone competent - if they are Rangers then great, but it should not be a condition of the job.

It's not their minds that we would be changing though. It's those of the non-aligned, the general football fans. Celtic are good at propaganda and their message gets spread very easily. That's why we have to have our own pr to counter their influence.

I've been saying this for a while. A good PR team is as important as good players. They are brilliant at pr and propaganda and too many peoploe buy into it. we've got to match them.

If they were after money, then they would be looking for a better bet than Rangers. Do you think Rangers is really going to be some sort of cash cow in the next few years? Grow up, will you? If they do make money, then we wil be succeeding and they will have done a good job. Are you incapable of rising above your prejudices and seeing that?
