  1. I think Howard Kendall's opinion of CG (or anything) might be worth more than Dave 'Harry' Bassett's, and HK was very approving of Green.
  2. Every team in Div 3 is limited in who they can get. None of the other teams have full-time players. None of them pay the sort of wages that we do. None of them have our training facilities. This is ally McCoist's team and he has to take responsibility for not getting anything decent out of the players. If they are struggling in D3 then how will they go in D2?
  3. I don't agree with ANY help for football teams from local or central government. Why should taxpayers have to subsidise the big-spending of REal and Barca in order that they can buy success?
  4. I hope Portsmouth don't get expelled but even if they do, we have NO chance of getting their place. There are a number of teams in the Conference, some of whom are ex-Football League who have a much better case for entry.
  5. Good article. I hope Traynor ore someoe else in authority at the club reads it and addresses the issues. The worst fear is that they are holding something back. They are probably not, but fans can't be blamed for imagining the worst after last year.
  6. It is certainly true that Liverpool was founded by Orange men. This is a fact and a disagreeable one to Celtic types. There isn't really a religious divide as such between LFC and EFC though. At my mainly Protestant Comprehensive Halewood, the few Catholics in the school supported Liverpool, as did between half and two thirds of the Protestants. All of the Everton fans seemed to be Protestants though. At the Catholic school round the corner it was probably about the same breakdown between Liverpool and Everton.
  7. Was the camera broken for the Montrose goals? I'm a football fan as well as a Rangers fan and would appreciate seeing things in context. We came from a goal down, which isn't always easy to do, yet you wouldn't know that from the video (apart from the score in the corner). There was not just one team playing and we are not the only team in the league.
  8. Genuine question - Has Ally got a coaching qualification?
  9. I don't see this as offensive. he has a go at Celtic as well. And some of what he says is true. Why do some people see the need to dismiss other fans because they support a 'diddy' club. This sort of attitude is prevalent in England as well with Liverpool, Man U, Chelsea, etc thinking that their fans are inherently better than fans of smaller teams. I'm a supporter of CG and his statement about not going back to SPL could be interpreted in different ways. But, like Smith says, if this means that we never get the chance to add to our titles or play in Europe again then it cannot be anything but a bad thing.
  10. Yes,of course I do. But seeing as we are supposed to infer some sort of inbuilt bias, isn't it fair to look at the whole of the product that is on offer? It just seems to me that some people are only happy when they can find something to take offence at. They never bring up the positives.
  11. I hope you noticed that Pat Nevin said that all of our players outplayed their Motherwell opponents. He singled out Wallace and Aird as outstanding and he made a big compliment to the crowd, the 12th man, for their contribution to winning the match.
  12. I agree as well. Too many people are looking for excuses to take offence at anything. Pat Nevin was saying about the way the support has really lifted Rangers.
  13. Are you listening to the same commentators as me? They sound pretty fair and have acknowledged everything that we are doing right. The summarisers in the studio have been pretty good as well.
  14. Like I said, it is a midweek League Cup game. That is not a very attractive proposition at any time really. And when you consider tht this is the third home game in 8 days...well, there is a limit to what people can afford.
  15. 23,500 for a midweek League Cup game is a good crowd I'd say. How many would we have got last season or in previous years? Probably less than what is being estimated for tomorrow.
  16. That sort of attitude will see us staying down for years.
  17. I think it might have something to do with the fact that our opponents aren't the same as last season and are all part-timers.
  18. He would be a great manager but I can't seeing him coming here IF a vacancy arises. Blackpool are knocking on the doors of the Prem and D3 Scotland is a massive step down, Rangers or not. Mind you, it all comes down to how much money is offered.
  19. Last week there were people on here complacently wondering who we were going to play in the semis. How much longer are people going to arrogantly predict thrashings of little teams? if this form continues then the excuse that it is 'their cup final' will not ring true as playing Rangers will be about as intimidating as taking on Southport Reserves.
  20. Like we've never had the benefit of offside goals? Look, you win some, you lose some. QoS deserved a draw. I just hope we can turn it around in ET but we have ben embarrassingly bad tonight.
  21. Don't blame the ref for Kyle being sent off. He actged like a dickhead and has let the team down.
  22. First of all, I'm just glad to still have a team after the traumas of last season but I am thinking that all the modern methods of coaching have passed Ally by completely.
