  1. Football is not just about accommodating away fans. All teams should play all of their home matches at home. There was a fashion in England a few years ago for lower league teams to waive home advantage if they got drawn against a big team in the FA Cup. I hated it and am glad that it seems to have stopped now.
  2. But they'd be expected to win easily - they'd have nothing to gain and everything to lose. If we pulled off a win then it would be the biggest cup shock for years.
  3. Will people stop throwing round accusations of being a Tim just because the poster has a different opinion and just because they may be stating something which is not good news?
  4. Why is he a Dec for having a legitimate opinion? It might not be one you agree with but it is still a legitimate opinion for a Rangers fan to have. One of the lessons that we should have learned is that pr is very important. The main narrative that is running at the moment is that of arrogant Rangers humbled and deservedly so'. We've got to change that but to do that we have to make friends and win people over. I'm sick of all this 'if you show any dissent you are a Tim' bollocks, which just does their work for them.
  5. I'm afraid you are right. They are much better at pr and propaganda than us, and the average English football fan, outside places like Liverpool, thinks Celtic are a big and glamorous club. They don't know anything about the republican stuff and probably don't care.
  6. As long as it's the harry Nilsson version, not the Mariah Carey one.
  7. If we have then they are overpaid and underworked.
  8. will people stop going on about England? There is not the slightest chance of it happening. You're fooling yourselves if you think that there is.
  9. If no decision is made and if that means no league at all for Rangers next season, then surely there must be some legal action that could be taken.
  10. It may be just a trivial thing and not seem important but these things can be symbolic. I didn't know subbuteo was still going, but apparently it is and we don't have a presence on there. It's like at glasgow airport where there is a Celtic shop but no Rangers one. That gives the impression that they are Glasgow's main team. PR and public perception is very important.
  11. I don't agree when people say things like 'don't listen to these shows' or 'don't read those papers'. We need people to listen, read and contribute. Let's face it, Celtic are much better at pr and propaganda than us. We've got to try to match them. What happens off the pitch, and the perception of all the clubs, is going to be increasingly important in future years, especially if an opportunity for EPL comes about (which is unlikely, but still).
  12. Take that attitude and you might find we don't have a league to play in at all - Div3 is NOT a certainty. The attitude that SPL clubs took after Murray's alleged 'arrogance' could well be replicated amongst SFL Chairmen. Save the posturing and all that 'don't you know who we are' stuff until we're working our way back up but let's make sure we are playing first.
  13. Why is that shit? How many posts are you allowed before coming up to your satisfaction? You may have made thousands of posts and not made sense in a single one. And what 'own site' are you talking about? It really pisses me off when certain people think we all have to follow their script. go on, tell me - if we were suspended where is the money coming from?
  14. How many other clubs are going to back us?
  15. A year's suspension would probably mean the end of the club. How are the bills going to be paid with no income stream? At this stage, I would take D1 with sanctions rather than have no league at all.
  16. They can ignore it because those 45,000 season tickets bring them no money at all. We are acting as if the D3 clubs will be ecstatic about our presence when in reality all they will get is a bigger pay day than usual on two occasions. England is a non-starter, so if we don't get D3 then what?
  17. Given that we won't be able to afford some of these players if we are in D3, is it a certainty that we will walk it easily? D3 sounds great in theory but if the D1 option still exists, we have to consider it, otherwise we could be cutting off our nose etc
  18. The teams at the bottom of that pyramid couldn't afford to come to Glasgow for matches. they have gates in two figures for the most part. England is a non-starter.
  19. Is your arsehole still hurting from confession this morning?
  20. I think he's just making it up in an attempt to be popular.
  21. I agree that we should drop the No-one likes us stuff. It's a bit embarrassing and sometimes if we were more accommodating people would like us and we'd have more outside support now. does anyone really think that the English leagues are looking for that sort of attitude? Public relations are a vital part of sport now, like it or not, and we've got to play our part in it too.
  22. England is not going to happen. We would have to start way down the pruamid, something like Evo-Stik North if we are lucky. Teams in that league like Warrington Town and Witton Albion couldn't afford to go to Glasgow and back. the logistics are just against it.
  23. Bradford Buls Rugby League team are currently in admin and face with liquidation within a fortnight. Their plight is even greater than ours, because it is likely that they could become completely extinct. One difference between the two cases though is the reaction of fans of other teams. Whereas Scottish fans have shown themselves to be holier than thou, vindictive little shits, the rugby league fans have rallied round Bradford, trying to raise money and lend support. Is it too much to expect Aberdeen or Partick Thistle fans to act like that? Yes, I think it is.
  24. I have just emailed the SFL, pointing out my distaste for policies being set by fans who in far too many cases are woefully uninformed. Why don't these teams allow their fans to have a say in how much the admission fees are? Anyway, I said that if these people were allowed to get their way and Rangers were refused entry to Div 1 or Div 3, effectively saying the club can play nowhere, then I would not be following through on my plans to visit Scotland, as watching Rangers would have been the main reason for my visit. I told them that many others on Merseyside feel the same.
