Already got the new tops as presents for my nephews and they are over the moon and proud to have them. If Walter really wanted to come back then it was when we needed to replace Kenny as the season looked like going tits up! It would have taken big balls to come in at that time with Allys squad and a team with no obvious ability or confidence and it was brave of McCall to come in when he did and I thank him for that even though it was always going to be a gamble and probably ruin any shot at the permanent job. Walter isnt even an option now and if pushed i'd rather still have McCall in the post but realistically its someone with something new that needs to come in and in my opinion i'd actually prefer fresh blood and not a "Rangers man" as the jobs for the boys mentality must be wiped out!

Amazing that he is rated so highly just because he is Scottish and at Valencia. He has done well to get where he is but he is one small piece of a very large coaching set-up at Valencia with 5 coaches responsible for the first team and another 7 coaches at their training academy which I believe is the biggest of its type in Spain - larger and with more investment than both Real Madrid and Barcelona. He walked into a club that already had more cash and resources in place than we could ever imagine and i'm not convinced that he has faced the challenges needed or has any of the experience or history that we are going to require to deliver PM's 7 year plan. And as a few others have mentioned, why would a 28 year old currently working in La Liga want to come to us with the current instability of our Club and support along with the general hatred that we currently face in scottish football from every corner. It would be like a suicide mission for him at this point in his career!

Tend to agree re Jig and you cant really compare it with a keeper as the demands and impact re age are very different. Jig knew he was on easy money with us and its just a shame we never got the return over the last two years for the money he cost us.

Probably Lewis as well and i'm sure he will go onto great things down south with some big clubs. Interesting when people mention that some of our players looked really good when we were down in Div 2 but lets not forget that these were highly paid, full time professionals with the best training facilities that money can buy playing against postmen and brickies, etc, some of which had just finished a shift at work before playing us! Its sadly very true and I remember reading how one european club, season before last I think, found that fake tops were selling days before the real one had been revealed and were an exact copy! When your being paid pennies a day to manufacture something its surely worth the risk to smuggle a few out so the counterfeiters can get there hands on them for a few quid and probably pay the factory next door to make the copies!
