  1. It was Martin Bain who said it... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ers/7394703.stm Listen to the audio and search the quotes in the text. He doesn't say "we will be getting quality signings". He says "We know what our supporters demand and we know the quality that they like to see on the pitch." Aparently that goes through the "Scottish idiot filter" and comes out as "we will be getting quality signings". Typical nonsense that people on this forum make up. Typical of Scottish culture more like. Fool of numpties. Roll on Australia with their skills shortage... here I come. Sounds to me as if he's sending a message that he knows what we want, and he's looking to deliver. Or is he saying that he knows the quality we want to see on the pitch, but we've all to GTF, and make do with mediocrity? enjoy oz <_<
  2. I'd love to see us making the marquee signings we were making 10 - 15 years ago, but we have to face facts that we cant even compete with the likes of Hull and Stoke for transfer fees and wage demands. It is a gutting realisation, but I think the only quality we'll see is either young potential, or ex-quality players In the latter stages of their careers. I really hope this changes, but can you really see anyone investing in an SPL club anymore?
  3. Think this years goalkeepers top's more yellow than orange.
  4. Maybe so, but in many ways I'd rather we were sensible about the kind of money we fork out. We spent too long spunking cash! To be honest I'd rather see us pursue the guy suchey, more worthy of a couple of million IMO.
  5. I really think we could use Gow this season the way things are shaping up.
  6. no such thing as a straightforward transfer with us sometimes <_<
  7. What is Kingstons natural position? Right mid?
  8. long and short of it is.....He has proven himself at Rangers when he has been played in his natural position, and IMO is worth the 4 million which isn't a huge figure in todays market. I say get him in, do we have any alternative?
  9. If he turns out to be as good as Crouch I will be one happy Bear! I hope so aswell. I rate Crouch very highly. I rememeber John Terry saying that Crouch was harder to play against than Henry becuase of his size and ability to bring other into play. Here's hoping he can model his game on big Crouchy I think he's a quality player and doesn't get enough praise. Well I think Portsmouth are on to a winner with Big Crouchy and Defoe up front.
  10. och i know he's done fuck all, should have stuck with PLG
  11. Fuck me, that is shit, defo cancelling now. So I take it you guys have links to watch the games online?
  12. I knew he'd come to ibrox evetually! Good cover for Lee Mcbollock
  13. It's a big price tag, but I still think that Walter sees Lafferty as a player with potential, rather than a certain first team player. Even though he cost a lot, Walter will hope to look back, say three years down the line and say "Yes Lafferty cost 4 million, but if you look at his contribution over the past three years he has been worth the investment. Even if it was a little steep at the time" After all we did give him a five year deal, and thats not all that common nowadays. totally agree, think waters confident that he would get at least double the price in 2 - 3 years after him hopefully doing a job for us.
  14. You dont leave a guy that cost this much on the bench and you dont play him out wide left. I have a feeling Smith will use him on the left which will be completely pointless and a waste of money. If he's not playing him on the left, then he must think that he's got some work to do, and that he's payed that money because he believes he could go for at least double that in a few years?
  15. Yeah I'd agree with that, but we dont need anymore strikers do we? But if Big Eck's knocked back an offer like that, I can't see him going.
  16. £5o million 'warchest' doesn't elevate the size and potential of a club does it?
  17. If he's got any kind of ambition he'll tell them to GTF, wheres he gonna go with Newcastle or Sunderland? Oh thats right King Kev's back and they're gonna win the league this time! He must stay.
  18. really? I think If they get good service from the midfield, and especially if we get good width in the side they would be good together. Velicka's strong enough to win headers and work well with boyd IMO.
  19. Only Walter knows, I do think Boyd and Velicka could be the most productive partnership up front though, fuck knows where miller would play?
  20. mcgregor Garics Cuellar Suchey Papac Miller Ferguson Thomson New LW Velcika Boyd what do we think?
  21. whats barry on again? It would make sense to have cuellar and shagger the highest paid players.
  22. They both had better stay, more so Boyd, keepers are more replacable than out and out goalscorers.
  23. Miller wide right? Or is that too contraversial?
