Iron Curtain got a reaction from delparlane in Jon Daly impressed with Ally
I'd imagine so too Gogzy, good riposte.
Only reason I would avoid Daly is because I don't feel he has much left in the tank, although only 30 he has had some pretty nasty injury problems and is subsequently about as fast as Gordan Petric on valium - can only see him deteriorating rapidly over the next few seasons.
He would be a good striker for us if fit no doubt, I just can't see it being worth the risk - any notion of signing him as a CB must be April fool chat, any forward worth his salt ain't gonna drop down divisions and move to Centre Half no matter how well he plays that position, that just does not compute with me.

For those going against the wishes of the club is just daft and making CG look like a tit as he is making a stand against SPL and im sure he was hoping for an empty away end not people glory hunting for being there. I would love to have gone to the game along with 1000's of other Rangers fans but we are standing tall and sticking together and showing these clubs we mean what we say but now were being made to look stupid by a few daftys!
I hope the players show there not happy by not going near the away end!

Ally, Ally, Ally....buy a suit and stop smilling, try doing a bit of management, coach players how to lose a marker, and coach defenders how to defend.

It was a semi-decent read and gives a good idea to the mindset of the group, but if the VB are rated by all why are there frequent references to raising the profile - with fans, media and so on?
Its not easy to take such a self congratulory piece seriously at times "Its membership includes professional people (?) and also includes some of the most talented bloggers and writers in the United Kingdom", hmmm, not better to let others be the one's who sit in judgement?
I firmly believe the real power of the Rangers fanbase exists outwith these fan groups (not VB's whom I know very little of) who spend much of the time seemingly preventing progression, squabbling without relevance or worrying about the absurd Phil Gillivan and his cronies as illustrated above (was it necessary to include that clown in what amounts to an entry-level guide to your group), but what the hell do I know?
The heart of the VB's appears to be in the right place, not my cup of tea and definitely not representative of my feelings (none of the fan groups are, and I count myself in the majority) but fair play to them for standing up for what they believe in.
In a fanbase vast as ours is there are people from all walks and with varying beliefs, and long may it continue I suppose. Just don't leave the cost of division at our Great club's door.

I agree, it's a bold statement to back up regarding the writers.
As for professionals who are members, well let me just say, we have VERY influential people on board. I'm sure you'll understand I can't say much more on an open forum.
As I've said previous, questions and constructive criticism is welcomed.

Allowing your self to be defined by how others see you (as per your starting statmement) is simply to allow allow others to think for you.
Do we need to be defined by how others perceive us ? Why not enjoy the sport and make your own mind up on religion and politics based on some thought on what is best and not becuase you think you should have certain views because someone else who supports a different team has a different view and you MUST take the opposite view.
It is not simply enough that we are a great football team - with a great sporting history?
