  1. i wouldnt be happy if he was moved on and agree with a fair few of the points brought up in this thread especailly the 500k is a low price and tha certain people dont care for him as a person more then as a footballer adam for me playing CM should be kept he is young v talented great left foot and passing range. he is a better footballer then Edu and prob always will be just not a better athlete. At 23 he is deffo one for the future. i perosnally hope he does not leave but if he does then i hope we get our moneys worth because 500k for a young players with champs league and old firm experience is not enough.
  2. I suppose, one mans unrealistic is someone elses realistic. Depends on your viewpoint. Some think Rob Jones is a realistic target, for me, nowhere near good enough, so, makes it unrealistic I dont think players "like" Owen and Ruud are bad shouts, for a couple of reasons, they are older, winding down their careers, and, cant command the fees or wages they used to. As an example, the story about Owen and Hull wa one of lower "basic" with performance bonuses. Thats a win win for them, if he performs they succeed, if not, they dont have to pay. I wouldnt say these are players we would sign, but, those, and, the likes of a Reyes (whose fall from grace has been spectacular) are more than possible. I think people view them on what they USED to be, rather than what they are now. I think older players would view Rangers as "one last crack at the champions league", those fallen from grace could view it as a way to kick start their career and put themselves in the shop window. People also are actively looking for reasons NOT to sign anyone, or at least anyone decent. Is that so there is omething to complain about next season? I dont get it. There ARE players out there, like Bougherra, who are more interested in success, and, proving themselves at the highest level, and, understand (more than some fans it would seem), that Rangers are a massive club, with history, and, pedigree. Would look great on a players CV to have us as a former club. I have no doubt, if people were suggesting Bougherra, Mendes, Davis, hell, probably even Lafferty, they would be getting shot down from all angles. "Cant afford wages", "will be going to the premiership" etc. They came here. I have seen some great "excuses" to negate that, such as "Davis is a Rangers man" and, "Mendes was fed up fighting relegation"... really? Think any other players might feel the same? Nah, course not eh? To be successful, the club (and fans) must show some kind of ambition, some kind of desire to put a marker down. There were a number of threads before the season ended, with lists of bosmans this summer. Anybody remember those? Why arent they being discussed? People are far more concerned with what is happening over the road and, who they might sign. i think once again spot on there nothing wrong with ambition owen and nistelrooy where yh a 'tad' silly but there are a few which wont come to my head that are not bad shouts. . . glen johnson was a riddiculus one though made me laugh
  3. i dont think the window has actaully opened yet.
  4. shame was good if there was nothing on tv to flick on watch a old match or the reserves etc . . .
  5. the one in derby where i am currently had in stock one baby size rangers strip 1 kids pairs of shorts and one kids scotland shirt as oppossed to a full rack of mens and kids sellic shirts, and as for national teams ireland was fully racked also out numbering the miesly 1 scotland shirt where poland croatia sweden etc . . . its a disgrace if you ask me
  6. do you really have the insdide knowledge to make that assumption? fair enough everyone knows we wont be spending big money but to say what our limits on individual players is something you wouldnt be able to know with out seeing the clubs budgets and knowing the managers plans, he might want to spend the whole budget on one player for example u never kno
  7. agree with the post but dont really understand why it annoys people it gets to the point where a fair few decent suggestions get shot down just the same as the outlandish one like owen
  8. he isnt good enough not from what i have seen anyhow, will not bother me to see him go
  9. You know, I would pretty much agree with that, have to say, I would swither a bit about Adam, I really would. But, to clarify, I am basing that on the player we saw under Le Guen, not since. At his age, and, apparent lower wages, as a squad player, I wouldnt complain too much. Everything else makes sense too. We wont win the UCL, true, and, I am in 2 minds as to whether having a crack at winning the Uefa is better than, getting past last 16 this year (and trying to go further each year), really not sure about that, but, I would take either I suppose. i agree with these two posts think there spot on, the only place i differ is i would keep weir one more year as back up to a new CB and id also keep adam everything else represents how i feel
  10. walters but i dont think we have had a good winger since McCann
  11. think we should wait and see how well he returns from injury before having him as a candidate if he returns with the same form as pre injury then he would be a good choice
  12. not this year but maybe the next in order to keep him at the club . . .plus i think he would do a good job but i would like the captain of our club to be someone who has earned it (over more then a year)
  13. 650 million debt was the figure from sky sports news
  14. because they effect our club! you want to limit it purely rangers stories only they be a new topic to talk about every 5/6 weeks . . . fun!
  15. I would hope for a sell on clause to, i still think there are big things in the future for this kid yh that makes sense because he is not perticularly popular lets let him go to the first offer when potentially we should be getting a million or so
  16. plus losing there dog eater . . . they ll be eating out dust next year
  17. i think VDM would be a good signing although i dont see it happening wages and injuries etc. . . Nuno Valente was a cracking left back a couple of years ago havent seen him recently but i would assume he is still miles ahead of papac i would love to see him sign
  18. we shouldnt be taking what ever we can get we should be selling at market price i personally would like to see him given another chance but if he was to be sold it should be for a adequate fee not 'whatever we can get' thats not how to run a buiness or football club
  19. id rather see mcgregor as a long term no.1 for us but atm alexander deserves the shirt like everyone has said also if a signifcant bid came in for McGregor 5m plus then sell replace him on the cheap and add the rest to the transfer budget
  20. yh i reckon we did get good prices for them but its easy to replace a defender like boogie has come in then it is too replace 25-30 goals a season in theory if cealler was worth 9 mil to us last then then boyd goals have been worth just as much this year
