  1. Rangers need a goal scorer and a winger-simple as that. I was bracing myself for tonight cause I knew Rangers wouldn't do it.We depended on a miracle tonight and I'm sick of having to rely on unlikely circumstances. If anything, surely Walter will realise what needs to be done and as hard as it is right now to lose the league, remember that the bad times only serve to make the good times better.Losing the league after being ahead is heartbreaking and it fills me with anger but at at least we can hopefully end the season with a boost if we win the Scottish Cup. Remember,we got to the Uefa cup final and could win the double. They got to the Uefa cup final and won nothing.
  2. I think the club would be mad to get rid of Steve Davis without a fight and I think £3 million is a suitable sum for someone of his calibre and potential. He's only been here since January and he's made a phenomenal difference in my opinion.I think he is agile, sharp and considerate of other players on the park. All round I think he is a classy wee player-not a perfect player but a good, solid, dependable player who I see as one for the future. I do agree that at times Thomson,Ferguson and Davis make the midfield a bit "samey" as all three of them are similar in terms of character and game play but I think the key to unlocking the staleness that might arise with the three of them playing together is a good, creative and quick winger.Rangers desperately desperately desperately need a great winger!Need someone to utilise our forwards and merge them with the midfield.Credit to Walter for modifying the one up front sytem recently to allow for a more attacking gameplay, but I still feel that having Novo+Cousin/Boyd/JCD running through the middle isn't effective enough. And if you look at some of our best goals this season, they have came from corners or out of the blue. This makes me think that a winger who would be firing in crosses similar to a corner would transform our fortunes.
  3. Steve Davis-my favourite player at the moment.Works so hard during the whole game and has both skill and a love for the club.
  4. Love Rangers with all my heart and they are the only team I get emotional over. But I do have soft spots for... *Chelsea *Linfield *Real Madrid *Spurs *River Plate *Kilmarnock *Hearts But of course that comment becomes null and void should any of those teams play Rangers. Nationally I look out for Scotland,Northern Ireland and Israel.
  5. UEFA cup :crab_uefacup: If worst comes to worst then it's only three in a row they've won-not ten. Doesn't mean I would be happy to lose the league of course and it's still a top priority. But to be honest,if you had told me than 18 months from when Paul Le Guen left that we would be in a UEFA cup final,in a strong position for the league,in the Scottish Cup final and CIS cup holders then I wouldn't have believed you.So everything is a bonus, but as Walter continues his rebuilding of the squad then leagues will come around;UEFA cups perhaps not.And if we do well in the league next year and progress through to the Champs League then we will be looking for a good run but not to lift the trophy-so lets be the first Scottish club to get some European silverware this millenium.
  6. I would go for "MANCHESTER 08 FOLLOW FOLLOW" The other one is just too presumptious and even though I feel confident going into the game I would still feel that I'm jinxing our success by wearing "Champions" before the deed is done! What about "NOT SUCH NEGATIVE TACTICS NOW EH?"
  7. Hey,just started using this forum properly and I would be really grateful if anyone could make a Signature! My favourite player is Steve Davis so it would be great if you could feature him and perhaps "Bluebells are Blue"? Many thanks if you able to
  8. LOL Just watched the video where he says "Baby,I got the receipt for everything I bought you-it can alllll be taken back" Says he's going to break the piggy to get to Manchester - would love it if he could,he would get absolutely mobbed though by fans trying to video him and get some of his legendary chat
  9. Where abouts on the official site?I was just on "News" and "Club News" and couldn't find it And the jumbotrons?! :angry2: That's pants-I'm not paying to watch the biggest game of my life on two diddy corner screens!
  10. Yeh,I really hope they open up the stadium as well!Like I said in a previous post, the closest thing to watching the trophy getting lifted in Manchester is watching it getting lifted on our hallowed turf!Would be brilliant and they could get the atmosphere really going with fireworks and the like.I was told by someone that Parkhead was opened for their final so I can't see why Rangers won't do the same.Think it would be the only chance to watch the game on big outdoor screens in Glasgow as I don't think it would be allowed in George Square or any other public venue. And would be a great income-generator for the club as well
  11. Opps-sorry,just realised I started the this thread again on another post.Forgot to check if there had been any similar posts so sorry for bumping your chat! Rangers minds must think a like lol.
  12. He's doing really well down there and I wish him all the best (no bitterness intended here) but how gutting must it be to watch you boyhood heros/former club reach a historic UEFA cup final and still be fighting for the Quad?Bet he wishes he could have stayed to the end of the season and sometimes I do as well cause I feel our team misses him (well,I felt at Parkhead we missed him but admittingly I know we're still strong and successful defensively).
  13. That's an agonising decision to make but I have a feeling Walter would play McGregor if he is deemed fit and ready. Personally I have no preference but I think Walter would feel that McGregor is the official number one and would feel happier returning to the original formula.
  14. Yeah,I take your point-don't want to feel that the star would tag us as a Diddy cup team only. Just feel that we taste little European glory that amounts to us conteding for an actual trophy and a spot in the history books. We've just done so so well with the given circumstances and it would be great to be able to wear the honour above our crest. Maybe it should be Walter's Smith's face we should be erecting above the crest instead of a star when you think about it...
  15. I RECKON five like we have, and another golden one above it (in the center of the five stars, which i cant do below.but yeh..) * ***** That sounds like the best option to me,would be glorious to see :king:
  16. If stars were awarded for the UEFA cup, where would it go?
  17. Ah right, thanks for clearing that up.Now I know lol.
  18. Can we appeal Cousin's sending off? I understand due to the facial confrontation that the second yellow card will remain. But what about the first yellow card? The decision was absolutely ridiculous (and I'm not one to usually criticise referees) and there is a widespread consensus that the referee was "pedantic" and "petty" which would help our case. I'm not too great on my football rules when it comes to appeals and the like so I was just wondering if anyone could comment on the issue? Having Cousin for the final would be a huge boost. :bouncy:
  19. I won't be going either unfortunately but I hope Rangers open up Ibrox and show the game on massive screens on the pitch there.Closest thing to watching the trophy being lifted in Manchester would be watching it on our hallowed turf!Somebody told me that Parkhead was opened for the same reason during Seville so I can't see why it couldn't happen. And if Rangers charge a fiver to get into the stadium then it's another wee money spinner for the club.
  20. No unfortunately, but take comfort in knowing that Rangers were the first Scottish side to secure the Domestic treble. And in the season of 1929-1930 Rangers were the first to acquire the grand slam of the League Championship,Scottish Cup,Glasgow Cup and Charity Cup.
  21. What happened to "We love to see the lassies with the blue scarf on"
  22. One of the things I think that has augmented the Old Firm Tension is the abilty to wear your teams colours everywhere you go.I was looking at a photograph of an Old Firm game from the early 50's and it was amazing-you just didn't know which side was which(well someone who didn't know which ground was which).Back then, you wore smart attire and if you wanted to show your colours you wore a scarf or a rosette-both of which could be taken off, tucked in your pocket and you could walk down the street and no-one could bother you.Nowadays we are all wanting to tarnish ourselves with the logo and colours of our club no-matter when and where we go.Don't get me wrong I see the advantage of club merchandise being so abundent-it provides a valuable and regular source of income to the club. And I wear my Rangers necklace every day and a Rangers top as I type so don't get me wrong I'm not trying to diss people who wear their clubs paraphenilia-I'm just trying to say that club colours are now more pushed into other people's faces and act as a catalyst for many sectarian attacks.
  23. I see both sides of the argument here. Yes,Walter shouldn't have taken the risk in the same way Big Eck shouldn't have played Gavin Rae in the Old Firm game that took place just afetr he signed. Both player and manager were aware that Rae wasn't ready and by playing him it could be argued that he prolonged his necessary recovery time. On the other hand,no-body was citing claims of "Protect the player" when Barry was taking pain killing injections. In this case we were all relieved that he was prepared to troop on and we were glad the manger was prepared to let him play in his condition.
  24. Yes,I would welcome Northern Ireland with open arms. In fact,if I was David Murray I would be paying for the repairs!A thank you for the intergrity, loyalty and just general brilliance of the Ulster fans. Argh-I'm so angry about the statement that NI have nothing to do with Rangers or Scotland.I could actually sit here and rebute that statement all night. But I'll just stay safe in the knowledge that most Rangers fans recognise that Ulster fans convey the attributes that we built the club on-Passion,belief and strength."Rangers will fight and Ranegrs will be right". However this recognition of worth does not end at the devotion of the NI supporters;it is an extended thanks to the support of our bears, supporters clubs and Loyals around the globe with partiular emphasis on the pods of funs located in North America,New Zealand and Australia. And to that random who I met from Yemen who had his own Rangers forum in Arabic! Hands across the water,Hands across the globe.Or should that be red hands?J/K -please dont ban me lol Oh,and for the record I'm Glaswegian (just in case u thought I was a representative from The NI supporters club!)
