  1. Should all the refs have been Rangers supporters or supported every team except that mob You seem very, very keen to defend that decision today... very, very keen to defend it, when did I say it was correct, so what you are going to say next is, I am one of them I said earlier its swings and roundabouts and we will get decisions thats a fact Iv already been accused of being one of them too today!
  2. He is raging! Rightly so though, it was a horrible decision!
  3. "Referees grow up supporting teams dont they?!" Chic Young!
  4. During the current credit crunch I cant see much investment within the UK unfortunately. We really have to hope some foreign investor takes an interest in our club and pumps the money in but we can only keep dreaming! When do you think Abramovich will get bored of Chelsea?!
  5. Boyd is a proven Rangers goalscorer whether its against small or big teams is irrelevant, who is scoring against the big teams for us give us a name Velicka is a 3rd rate unproven goalscorer with a poor Hearts team and can believe his luck he signed for us he will flop big time, he did nothing in Norway so stop kiddng yourself Boyd need s to play against big teams and he needs the service However is a luxury that we cant afford at this time? This is where my main argument comes from, especially with the way the team has played in the last 2 years coming into this season he just doesnt seem to suit things despite being the top goalscorer again last year. It is no coincidence that both PLG(hate to mention his name) and now WS both have the same view on him and I feel he probably started against Falkirk to appease the fans. I know I'm not the only supporter who isnt convinced with Boyd but unless we are creating loads of chances he is never going to be as useful as he can be. Lets be honest how many goals COULD he be scoring a season if we got the right kind of players for him? A lot more I believe but these players are out of reach at the moment. The boy is worth a good amount of cash and after the debacle of Kaunas a few will go out the door. Hell there has been noise that Novo is going this morning in the Mail! I also believe one problem is Smith has sign TOO MANY strikers putting him in the position that he must offload some. Novo Boyd Velicka Lafferty Miller Cousin Darcheville At least two of these players must go and interest has cooled on Cousin and we wont shift JCD! He is probably our most sellable asset in that position and would command the highest fee which is so important to the club right now! There is certainly a Love/Hate relationship with Boyd and the fans and I am entitled to my opinion whether people deem it incorrect or not!
  6. Chick is raging! BBC R Scotland now!
  7. Yeah exactly how I feel, take the money and run! Plus I love how as soon as you dont like boyd your accused of being a Celtic fan....great forums these!
  8. Definately no tug from haining, absolute disgrace but again they get all the luck..... Oh look Radio Scotland are defending the decision because of no use of TV Monitors!
  9. Lmao imagine claiming im one of the unwashed. Listen Boyd is never going to win over Walter Smith and I suspect he does want rid of him. I still remain unconvinced of his work rate and I wont deny his ability to put the ball away, I do however believe that Velicka could prove to be more valuable than Boyd has been for us. Expecting 20goals plus from him but if someone came in with an offer of £3 Million plus for Boyd im fairly convinced we would accept it and he would be off his way. I also see him as being much less valuable to the team than the likes of Cuellar if selling Boyd allowed us to hold onto him I'd be more than happy to do so. We have our replacement in Velicka, i could be wrong but I doubt it! I also agree with Papa....why would THEY be scared of him, he disappears against the bigger teams!
  10. 10million and he's off.... I expect Bougherra/Weir for the rest of the season
  11. Again Boydy didnt do too much to inspire me today..... That one when he just had to hit it across to Lafferty summed him up today. I dont care about the knock on for the goal, does anyone think he seriously made it.....i jest! Velicka played very well and had some good link up with Boyd today but are they all too similar? I think they are with Velicka being a bit more mobile and hence useful! So I would like to see a starting combo against hearts of possible Velicka/Darcheville, Velicka/Lafferty or Velicka/Miller(ok I know it's Miller but you know he'll be back in the team). Lafferty looked good at times today and will certainly be useful but HE IS A STRIKER! Bougherra looked very capable today but it strikes me with fear that he played well.....can anyone else see a partnership of Bougherra/Weir for the rest of the season? I'm thinking so and fear Carlos could be away and that was his replacement I hope to hell im wrong though! I really didnt notice McCulloch today, useless in general! Middle of the park is just shocking atm!
  12. Well to be perfectly honest iv been extremely pissed off with the whole Greggsy - Alexander issue at the moment! Greggsy is JUST back from a pretty bad injury and has looked pretty shaky in the first few games and was at fault certainly for the first goal that Kaunas scored.....badly at fault in fact as he didnt have to move much at all! Anyways I would have liked to have seen Alexander start the first few weeks to give Alan that wee bit more time to get sharp in training as August is crucial and we have already been knocked out of one competition and it has cost A LOT so we really need the sharpest players out there and out of the two keepers i would have said Alexander is the one I would be choosing right now....but....it's my opinion thats all! So.......my team for tomorrow would be of the available players: GK - N.Alexander RD - S.Whitty LB - S.Papac CB - A.Webster CB - K.Broadfoot CM - K.Thomson CM - B.Hemdani LM - K.Lafferty RM - J.C.Darchville CF - A.Velicka CF - D.Cousin Ok the team I've picked may be questionable including the exclusion of Boyd....he just aint my cup of tea! Anyways I would have Dailly nowhere near my first team as he was a pointless signing and we have had further confirmation in the first 2 proper games as to why we dont need him. Despite what people think I believe Cousin is one of the better players at the club physically and technically so I would have him playing while we have him but again just my opinion. Darchville on the right to give us some pace and lafferty to enhance this on the left. Velicka is the most match fit player and for me should start the game. Smiths team wont be that however and I agree with Disgruntled Bear ------------------------McGregor--------------------- Whittaker----Broadfoot--------Webster----------Papac ---------------------------------------------------------- -----------------Dailly-----------Thomson------------ McCulloch----------------------------------------Adam --------------------JCD------Boyd---------------------
  13. DaMarcus should have a good season for us IF he manages to stay fit! Hopefully he does as he has the pace and trickery to trouble the opposition. He played very well for us in Europe before he was injured and was great to have in the 4-5-1 formation. His pace was a god send I was absolutely gutted when he got injured against Stuttgart as he was one of the only outlays of pace we had in a relatively slow team. We do need him back quickly and I also hope we get him for the 3rd round of qualifiers but to be honest who the hell knows if Smith will play him in many games. :L
  14. i bet the septic get extra time in the transfer window Oh we know that The SPL magically make the hour go back.....that was the clocks of course.....not the SPL ^^^^^ I think he's talking about the ACTUAL transfer window
  15. Meh just seen Batman Begins....which was awesome btw.....expected to see Davis confirmed alas not! Anyways no worries its for the 2nd Round Qualifier so hopefully we will have enough to see them thru then add to the squad for the 3rd! Though does anyone think we'll do a 23:59 registration again?
  16. Agreed to be perfectly honest! Cousin when he can be arsed is easily our best striker at the club its just a shame he has a feind of an agent in Willie McKay who has convinced the guys he wants to go elsewhere for more money! Everyone always seems to bring Boyd up though and its annoying, simple debate about cousin then boyd comes up! Super. Look i think Velicka will prove to be more invaluable than Boydy this season but who knows how Walter will play it out. Anyways in true retro CM style this is the team i expect. GK. A.McGregor RB. S.Whittiker CB. C.Cuellar CB. D.Weir LB. S.Papac CM. B.Hemdani CM. K.Thomson CM. C.Daily RM. K.Miller L.M L.McCulloch CF. J.C.Darchville Yes I hope im wrong but this is the team im expecting and I wont be best pleased if I see this as I settle back into my seat at Ibrox to begin the new season. My Team (Taking into consideration Injuries and the like) GK. A.McGregor RB. S.Whittiker CB. C.Cuellar CB. D.Weir LB. S.Papac CM. B.Hemdani CM. K.Thomson RM. N.Novo L.M. K.Miller CF. J.C.Darchville CF. A.Velicka
  17. If he starts the season well then im sure the fans will quickly warm to him again. I for one look forward to his selfless work rate next season where he can hopefully turn provider for another striker. The argument about Novo is a bit of a moot point too since Novo himself offers a great workrate but his greed in front of goal does have an effect in his general play. Im willing to give him a chance if he plays well then great and if he doesnt he wont be starting, thats that. Walter wont play him if he isnt playing well since we have options for that position
  18. good post, i'd agree with all that except for the bit about Hemdani - a couple of years ago he was class actt, probably one of our best players. Last season though, he was utter pish with only 1 or 2 decent games all season. I'd rather see Adam given a chance, he's never a winger but played in the centre and given a deent run in the side, i think he might turn out to be a decent player. Id agree that left wing is not his position but I cant see how effective he would be in the center either, i'm just not a great fan of Adam at all. I admit Hemdani had a poor season last year, no getting away from it but he didnt have a run of games either like you say also about Adam. Would be interesting to see either get a run but Adam cant last more than 45mins without being hooked usually.
  19. This news neither upsets or surprises me. We all knew Barry was carrying an injury and he has been posted missing for the last 3-4months of last season. Thommo ran the show in a lot of games and was much more prominent in the midfield than Fergie. This could be ideally what we need in terms of Fegie next season. When he has the surgery and recoups he will hopefully come back without the fear of doing damage to the ankle and be able to perform on the level we know he is capable of and come the End of Sept/Start of Oct this could be the ideal boost we need, even early on. Davis for me is not a must in this team, I think the £3million we "offered" is fair enough as the boy never played for Fulham and has one less year left on his deal. They just want to try and recoup the money they paid for him which was around £4million. Honestly, let that one lie until close of the window and if the player digs his heels in we will get him but I dont want us paying over the odds at all. We still have Hemdani as well in the squad and when he plays he is a good player, he will allow Thommo more room to move about as he hapily sits and mops up play. People say their too similer but I disagree, Thommo gets in about the tackles and is a lot more active in the midfield where Hemdani watches and cuts out passes and mops up the oppositions play. The wingers are probably what we need more at the minute and with Beasley back in contention now (Superb game close season albeit vs QoS) the left hand side will be stronger if he stays fit with the right hand side of our midfield now looking suspect. I would rather we get a proper right winger(i.e a bit of flair) in the team and a left back also than worrying too much about "replacing" fergie, we have players who can do that for the time being. Beasley can provide the flair on the left thats for sure. I would have mentioned RB as being a position we need another player in but hopefully Whittiker plays there next season but we'll see. All in all im glad fergie will be getting surgery as it certainly is the best thing for him and for the club!
