The fans weren't exactly spitting fire at the end there though mate. They were giving it laldy, irrespective of the result. That sort of loyalty deserves recognition.
He's no mug....he'll know it's wrong and I expect he'll apologise. 

Showing respect to fans who have taken days off work, spent a lot of money and backed the team.
I'd prefer my Manager to show appreciation of that no matter the result in Europe.

Even if he's annoyed with the players, he doesn't have to interract with them. Just go to the fans and walk off again. It's simple courtesy for travelling hundreds/thousands of miles and shelling out big style! Dick move imo.

I dunno if anyone else heard Talksport this morning. Dean Saunders was on and was talking about someone he knew that played at Newcastle and the season they were in the UEFA cup/league thing. Anyway, it was almost a carbon copy of our story this season. Playing Thursday Sunday and playing better in Europe, but being really flat for Sunday games. Usually only performing for 45 minutes in a game.....going a goal behind before getting a rollocking off Souness before coming back out to play. I've enjoyed Europe, but if it's holding us back domestically then I can't wait for the back of it!

It's a catch 22 situation. We're never going to afford the quality of player needed to overtake the Scum if we keep paying off managers. But, if we're not moving forward, are players going to want to come? I think SG will be a big enough draw for players to come and work under, and the European run has helped put our name back out there again. There really is no other alternative but to stick with Gerrard for at least another 2 seasons imo. Even if that does entail the worst happening. 

And our midfield tend to stand facing our own goal to get the ball. None of them are in a forward facing standing position, and that takes any momentum out of the play. Basic coaching stuff.
