  1. Outstanding contribution. Great point well made. Credit to the forum.
  2. That’s of course the best/most obvious example but there has been other glimpses of good link up play… it’s quickly forgotten because everything else he’s touches turns to shit or ultimately it didn’t lead to a goal. How often does a player get close to him or even get further up the pitch? not often. I’ve seen him play it through to Sima on several occasions… only for Sima to run into a deadend. Not to mention his work before the goal against celtic that was wrongly ruled out. Surprisingly a lot of people who claim to have watched players previously… haven’t. They watch a YouTube video and look at FM stats and act like they’re coming from a position of authority. Sadly it’s not even just posters on here.. some of those in the media are guilty of it too. Others just chat shit. I’m not a scout so I only really care what he’s doing in a Rangers shirt. At no point has he looked like a player who can chase lost causes or bully a defence all on his own. It’s obvious he’s not mobile enough yet we continually ask him to chase long balls and run in behind whilst remaining isolated. Our previous manager also thought Cantwell would do a job filling in at right back for Tav… So there’s an argument to be made that we aren’t set up to get the best out of our players. If we are going to get anything out of him he needs to be played with another striker who will get close to him and even beyond. Obviously nowhere near the ability of Prso… but to me it seems like he would also really benefit from a Novo.
  3. For all Dessers faults this far; I think there’s a very strong element of Beale not having a clue how to utilise him. We have seen glimpses of his ability to link up and play a pass in behind… but when he’s isolated or being asked to chase hopeless long balls in behind, he’s basically being set up for failure. It’s clearly not his strengths. It wasn’t working and naturally Dessers confidence is shot because of it. Whilst that still leaves major questions over his mental strength. He’s got another chance under Clement to show he can still offer us something.
  4. Spiderman 2 downloaded and ready for a day of not leaving the couch tomorrow!
  5. Finally got round to finishing it, not really a trophy completionist but I’ve only got a few more easy ones to tie up to get the platinum. I previously said it was an 8/10 but now that I’m done I’d go with a 7/10 in reflection. Story was kinda meh and I didn’t really care for any of the characters including Basam. I was optimistic this would get better as the game went on… but it didn’t to be honest. Few glitches but the biggest annoyance was the sticky parkour in the end. Kinda felt like a backwards step in that regards. Overall I still had a good time with the game though, it was a welcome taste of nostalgia with a very shiney coat of paint. If you liked the older games.. it’s a safe bet you will like this.
  6. Bar one solitary season they’ve had no competition though - we have been a complete and utter basket case either side of 55.
  7. Just me who doesn’t give 2 fucks about 2 ex players bickering on tv then? 😂
  8. Chucking a bunch of inexperienced or youth players into a team that’s struggling and under pressure is a massive risk. Let alone an entire new backline… it’s not only a risk for us… but you could possibly end their careers. It’s not just about being physically up to it.. they also need to be mentally ready. People can sit on here telling us the fans would cut them slack just because they aren’t the usual culprits.. they might get away with a mistake or 2 but as soon as they cost us a goal, the knives will be out. We’ve seen the fans turn on countless youth players over the years.
  9. He’s not here to get a pat on the back from the fans. He’s here to win football games and he’s fielding the team he believes can achieve that. The day managers start letting fan pressure dictate the teams they select… is the day their careers are effectively over.
  10. At this moment in time Raskin is the only player who can actually consistently carry the ball more than 10ft. He’s not had the best of starts this season but saying he’s immobile is nonsense. His passing is the issue.. but at the same time it can be argued that he’s continually let down by those in front of him.
  11. I picked it up for 26 quid from game collection - will punt it for 30 next week. So essentially I’ll have earned 4 quid to ply it 😂
  12. I’ll be keen to hear how LotF does. The first came with a lot of promise but ended up being pretty underwhelming. This one looks a lot better but we will see!
  13. It’s a relatively short game with a small map. The story can be finished in 10 hours if that’s all you focus on. Doing the side quests and activities fleshes it out to around 20-25. Project Red will be their return to large RPG inspired titles.
  14. I’m about 3/4 of the way through I think. To steal a quote, it’s probably one of the best 8/10’s I’ve ever played. It’s not ground breaking, but what it does do, it does really well. It’s a throwback to the original games, but with a lot more polish. Stealth is now the main focus, you can still hack your way through enemies with a sword but on the harder difficulties it’s very easy to get quickly overwhelmed. The combat is still fairly basic and not as free flowing as Origins or Valhalla, no weapon skills either. That’s intentional though as the focus is on using your tools and stealth. Story is decent so far but I don’t really care about any of the characters. The real star of the show is the city… it’s fairly small but it’s incredibly well put together and feels very alive. If you like the older games you’ll love this. I had to change afew of the controls though but you might like the older/traditional feel to them!
  15. The role of a captain is somewhat overstated by the fans. Putting the armband on someone else will not change anything. Leaders don’t need abit of fabric around their arm to lead by example. Successful teams need several captains out there, it cannot simply fall on the shoulders of one individual. Our “leadership team” need completely dropped and resigned to the history books.
  16. Was just looking at the contract situation… we are all in agreement changes need to be made, but I think we are going to be stuck with a lot of this shite for years to come. So much dross on long term contracts… and a significant portion of them are on big wages that they won’t get anywhere else. With next to no sellable assets… Unless a Saudi prince comes in and fancies burning afew 20 quid notes I don’t see how this board can turn this round. Shambles from top to bottom. 2024: Barisic, Balogun, Jack, McLaughlin, Roofe, Lundstram 2025: Lawrence, McCorie, Wright, Devine 2026: Tav, Goldson, Souttar, Davies, Dowell, Matondo, King, Hagi 2027: Butland, Dessers, Sterling, Lammers, Raskin, Yilmaz, Cifuentes, Danilo
  17. Only certainties in life are death, taxes and dessers being offside.
  18. He’s been pulled up for that before. Thick as fuck.
  19. With how he left QPR and the disaster of managing in Scotland… he will do well to get another job in the UK let alone the championship.
  20. You make your own luck in football. They have a mentality in their team that doesn’t let them lose… it’s why they win leagues titles and we don’t.
