  1. He cleared waivers which means all 31 other teams passed on him. Now he'll probably sign with the Rams' practice squad and hope for an injury so he can get called up.
  2. Detroit Lions Loyal. We're making the playoffs for sure this year!
  3. I'm not going to defend the guy getting out of his car but a few things should be said. The race was under caution because of the wreck and the drivers were going much slower than usual. Tony Stewart is known for his temper and is marketed as a "tough guy". He seems to have a massive chip on his shoulder and while I don't think he intended to hit the young man, I think he definitely wanted Ward to believe that he was going to hit him. In the video you can hear his engine rev as he is passing ward and immediately after you can see him correct his car back down to the low side of the track Unfortunately, it will be nearly impossible to prove Stewarts intentions in a court of law. Hopefully law enforcement already have his radio transmissions, as that could tell us a lot.
  4. Not to mention all the goals I'll miss when I die 15 years early. Been working to quit and I'm still young, luckily.
  5. ffs they've have had two goals right after two missed sitters for us.
  6. Christ, I'm American and even I think this guys voice is fucked. The setting for the game is just eerie. I'm pretty sure it's at a high school!
  7. "Most competitive Championship ever" They're already making excuses.
  8. Sorry mate, didn't see yours. Would never purposely offend General Custer, a Michigan hero.
  9. Hawaii is even able to put on the Rangers top, I'll never know.
  10. You're right, NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL are much more established than MLS, so it will take a while. But I think most immigrants do stay loyal to soccer. Best proof would be our national team where many of our players are first generation, like Bedoya, Omar Gonzalez, Altidore, Aron Johannsson, Mix Diskerud, etc. Plus we have 5 players born and raised in Germany.
  11. I think a lot of rugby fans share your opinion and I'm pretty sure it's because of the helmet and all the padding that is used in American football. The problem is that because they are so well protected they tend to use their bodies almost as missiles-especially the head. Helmet to helmet hits on defenseless players are now outlawed at all levels of the game because of all the concussions. It's sickening how many former NFLers in their 40's, 50's and 60's are suffering from dementia. Sorry if this is too off topic, I know this is a World Cup thread.
  12. It's not viewed as a women's sport and I wouldn't say it ever really was in my lifetime(born in 85). It's just not seen as an alpha male, tough guy sport. Believe me though, it's growing immensley in popularity, mainly because of the EPL. NBC bought the rights to show it exclusively in the US and there are at least four matches on every weekend during the season. This World Cup is helping a lot as well, obviously.
  13. Football is exploding over here but, unfortunately, it will never pass American football, unless American football is banned or too drastically changed because of how dangerous it is. The NFL and college football are the two most popular sports in the US and it's not even close. But that's a good thing for the rest of the world because, you're right, we'd be the biggest football power in the world. Can you imagine Adrian Peterson at striker? http://www.buzzfeed.com/josephbernstein/dream-team-if-americas-best-athletes-played-soccer-wed-win-e?s=mobile
  14. I agree. But for me, as an American, it was disappointing to see my club portrayed in that light on national television. Especially when I know Maurice has a lot of great things to say about us.
  15. If you do a quick google search you can find them on YouTube. It'll be episode 2 starting at the 11:50 mark.
