Comparing this season to last
GersInCanada replied to East Enclosure Row N's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
However unlikely the title may be I for one am not giving up until it becomes mathematically impossible. The final at the end of the month is huge as a victory for us will surely dent their confidence. The squad is bloated and aging and while we will thank them for their service I can see around 8-10 either retiring or being forced to find new clubs. Apart from a keeper which we all know is a must I doubt that we need anything more than the addition of 2/3 quality additions in the outfield area. The January signings look very promising. -
Welcome Back to Rangers, Michael Beale!
GersInCanada replied to Davy Vandenbroucke's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
On the whole I am rather pleased with Beale. Breathed some life into the squad and handles the media very well. Early days but his signings look to be a cut above what we had and did not cost an arm and a leg. If at the end of the month we land the LC then that will be a very satisfactory start to his reign as Rangers manager. -
Playing against a side who want to come out and play a game of football we do well. We do much less well against sides who don't fancy a game 'cause they know they will get hammered if they do. It's a sad refection of Scottish football. Raskin, Cantwell and Tillman all look decent additions. Move onto Partick and next week.

We have an agreed deal with the Germans. No need to be splashing cash at the moment. Let's just wait until the summer.

No doubt in my mind that Beale has improved the fitness of the squad and that very much includes Alfredo. Consequently he is playing more like his old self. However if he is looking for a pay rise to sign on for another couple of years the answer must be no.

Beale has talked about the number 9 he has his eye on for the summer. If he gets him then I expect it is bye bye Alfredo.

The constant media pressure on VAR and referees
GersInCanada replied to GOAT's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
I agree. On the whole it has led to more correct decisions. -
Matondo cost us a lot of money. He is on a big wage and has a 4 year deal. We must at least try to get something out of him as at the moment we have no chance of getting a fee for him.

I have not seen it do can't comment on it. scum will be going mental. Ref gives a pen and VAR disallows it. Can't stop laughing.

Incoming players have to be 1st team picks and the price has to be right. If the Belgians are playing silly buggers they may end up with a player in their reserves for whom they cannot get a fee in the summer plus they will have to pay him 4/5 months of wages. I expect this one to go to the final day. If we cannot get anyone else in this window so be it but at least the squad will be stronger as the injury situation improves.
