  1. Got to be be positive. Perhaps scum will bid for O'Donnell. Although it has to be said that they probably can't afford the modest transfer fee involved. Was just listening to H&H and the arguement was around the lines of is it time for Bears to get behind the national team once more and reclaim the stands. Change from within rather than apathy - remove football from politics. Can't make my mind up and it's far too early to have a drink.
  2. In refection Scotland had 2 of their 3 group matches at home and lost both by 2 goals. Best chance they have ever had of making the knock out stages. But the press spin it as a big success. Just don't understand it.
  3. 'football from another era' as Souness said last night. What do you expect from Clarke ? Only knows how to set up a team to play like Killie and consistently picks Killie like players. An idiot of a manager. Croatia (smaller population than Scotland) and perhaps in decline looked for long periods as is they were in a training match. The difference in class was there for all to see. One team knew how to play the game and the other didn't.
  4. Fair point as attendances will be at the junior level. Still a good initiative though.
  5. England correctly rule out two players under 'close contact'. From Scotland it is 'sweep sweep' nothing to see here. Surprise, surprise. Wonder where they got that from ? Croatia are not the force they once were but I hope they win today.
  6. The claim of no close contacts is totally absurd and frankly beggars belief. I would expect other players to have to self isolate but given that the SFA and SNP just make up rules as they go along this may not happen.
  7. However you look at it they are a basket case. Greatest fans in the world won't buy ST's. Top players all want away. Their infrastructure is a mess. Took us 3 years to sort out our problems. Might take them longer as long as we don't become complacent.
  8. Quite a step down in class from Dundee.
  9. Italy in '74 was the first time I went to tournament. Had a great time. Followed Scotland home and away for another decade. Forget who it was against but the last game I attended is when the booing of Rangers players became too much for me. Prior to that nobody cared who paid your wages. Players were representing their country and so you got behind them. Until those days return I can have no enthusiasm for the national team. Won't be holding my breath.
  10. We shall see over the coming months how he sets his team up. But all out attack is a recipe for disaster with the players he has at his disposal.
  11. I forget exactly where we were in the European rankings when Gerrard took over. Probably close to 300th yet we made the group stages. Rankings don't mean a lot. They are dependent on history alone. Which is fair enough as how do you rank an improving team ? A country or a teams ranking gives them an easier draw but that's it. I think it would make for a better spectacle if there were no pots but simply a random draw.
  12. I have watched bits and pieces of the Euros but yesterday was the first time that I watched a full 90 minutes. I was surprised at how poor England were. As soon as they meet a decent side I expect them to go out. If you play Dykes up front then no surprise when you go 180 minutes without scoring. Scotland looked unbalanced to me. That's down to the manager. Can't see Scotland having the guile to unlock Croatia so that's them out and probably without scoring a goal.
  13. It may be a slight exaggeration on my part but is not complete lies.
  14. The 40M man who has done nothing except score for fun against the Hamiltons of this world. Can't do it in Europe when facing better defenders. Now that Leicester have pulled out I expect him to hang on until the next window when he is free to sign a pre contract. Nobody else is going to come in for him given the fee scum are looking for plus his wage demands. His record simply does not justify it.
  15. ex Morton "ace" Erik paartalu. I had to read that twice. Talk about scraping the barrel to put a positive spin on the Aussie. Takes turd polishing to a whole new level.
  16. Was hoping they would get the Turks who would have leathered them over 2 legs. I suppose scum have an outside chance in this tie but I still make the Danes big favourites
  17. No doubt in my mind that they are completely broke. Quite possibly insolvent - which is a pleasant thought.
  18. Not the game I was hoping to see. I doubt that either of those teams will win it. But I have been wrong before.
  19. Predictable result but being drawn with Germany, France and Portugal made it very hard for Hungary. They made a decent fist of it.
  20. Hungary are very poor. Whoever designed the Portugal strips wants shot. The big plus is a capacity crowd. Great to see. Portugal will win but I am cheering on Hungary in the 2nd half.
  21. Clarke is an awful manager. Did ok at Killie with the bonus of a dreadful pitch but picked up enough league points to disguise the horrible football his side was playing. Won't pick his best players. Clueless for me. Hope scum go for him after the Aussie gets the boot.
  22. Title party against Livi. The most disappointing of fixtures. Batter them and set the tone for their season. The last remaining plastic pitch has to go.
  23. As a tactical genius he was well ahead of his time. Actually enjoyed his final 'no fucks given' tour. Provided a good few LOL moments.
  24. scum targets remind me of us under Warburton. Lower league journeymen from England. I reckon they are skint and in survival mode.
  25. Scotland and the Checks (misspelled as I know there is a z in there) are arguably the worst 2 teams in the tournament. Only watched the 2nd half but what to expect with the likes of Gilmour and Patterson not playing and the Newcastle chap who's name escapes me but looked useful when brought on. Tactical genius. I really hope that Clarke ends up with scum. He is their level.
