If we make CL group stages this season and win the league then the financial situation is much improved and the funds will be there to get some quality in to replace those who have run their race. Win one game in Europe - even a qualifier - and we get more money than winning the Scottish Cup. Reclaiming the Scottish Cup would be nice for historic reasons but that's it. The League Cup I feel is an irrelevance and an irritation at that point of the season and a competition I would be happy to leave to squad players. Our management team are proactive and will have targets in mind.

No doubt that the squad is too large. It needs trimmed. I could be wrong but I seem to remember reading that Middleton had gone back to St Johnstone for another season.

Found a stream but it's Premier Sports which sounds like scum tv. Anyway 2 dreadful teams in an awful match.

As far as I aware there is nothing in the rules to say it has to be the 1st game of the season so sensible to delay until we can get a (hopefully) full house.

I have said before that I won't be surprised if someone else is runners up this season. They start at Tynecastle where they could well be beaten. Home games against Dundee and St Mirren follow. They will be expecting 6 points from those games but may only end up with 3 or 4. Then they come to Ibrox.

I may be wrong too but I think it's the play off round where losing puts you into the group stage of the EL.

Now, now, this is no time to be pessimistic. Danes to put them out and Hearts to beat them in the opening round of league games. That's what I want to see and fingers crossed expect.

If I can find a decent stream I shall be watching as I expect a win for the Danes.
