  1. Admirable sentiments but does not fit in with anyone/everyone message. If he is rabid then you are correct but if he can be converted ?
  2. There is an arguement that Wright and Hagi are better used as impact players. But starting with Roofe ? Mind you, having said that, he will probably score early on to show why Gerrard gets the big bucks and I only get to watch on RTV.
  3. Since winning the title we have been bloody awful. Fact. Our squad have to empty the tank today to win. I reckon that they will.
  4. Team will be out soon. Going to listen to the excellent Jodie Pollock on utube to bring on the battle fever.
  5. I was one of the dead rubber people earlier in the week. As we close in on kick off time that attitude has gone. Now, even with bare bones, I want us to pound them. Give their new manager, whoever that may be, a real headache when he has to work out a way to compete with us next season.
  6. Why stop at 6 ? I'd prefer 7 or 8. Much more likely is that we get 2-0 up and game management kicks in and we settle for that.
  7. The outcome depends on whether or not we turn up with something close to our A game. If we do then they get humped if we don't it is going to be close.
  8. Despite the occasional good cameo for us he has failed to develop further. Doubt if we will get much of a fee for him so probably best for all concerned to just let him go. Lower half of the SPFL is about his standard. Good luck to him.
  9. All I can say is that Gerrard and Wilson think that there is a player there. They get more right than wrong but Sunday is his day. A clean sheet coupled with a victory and many will have to rethink. If he gets run ragged (and scum will target him as the weak link) then we can write him off. But not before.
  10. Simpson has started what one game and made a few cameo appearances. Yet many have him as a bomb scare. Makes no sense to me. As I have said before too many Bears are far too quick to make a judgement.
  11. Now don't be stupid. One cannot prove an opinion. You have your view and I have mine.
  12. No. I simply argue that you are wrong.
  13. Laudrup was a success for us and anyone who argues otherwise is deluded. A phrase that, until now, I have reserved for the fans of the dark side.
  14. Good players shine when surrounded by other good players. Not his fault that Bayern, Milan and Chelsea were full of journeymen at the time. A bit of tongue in cheek but that's my opinion.
  15. We all have opinions. This would be a very boring place if we were all of the same mind.
  16. We Bears are very quick to either laud a player or write him off. I have written off Zungu. Does not have what it takes to be midfielder for us. Send him back to wherever we found him (France I think) with a polite note saying thanks but no thanks. You can have him back.
  17. I reckon that both Jones and Edmunson will stay where they are. Probably for around 1M each. If we could sell Roofe for what we paid I would bite your hand off. Did well for a time but not worth the fee or the big wages. Hagi is heading for stardom so I would be reluctant to sell this summer. To maximise his value we have to give him another year. Next seasons primary goals are the league and CL qualification which to me means that we cannot sell either Alfredo or Kent. With no new deal announced for Kamara I reckon that he is the most likely to move on. He would go with my very best wishes for his future. Our recruitment team have given me no reason to doubt them. They get the odd one wrong but on the whole they are getting it right. Zungu has to go (not going to make it with us) and I will not be shocked if at this stage the midfield replacements are cross border deals or bosmans. My goals for next season are 56 (top of the list) and making the group stages of the CL where I would be content with 3rd and a parachute into the last 32 of the Europa. Modest but realisable targets.
  18. INVERNESS CALEDONIAN THISTLE AND RAITH ROVERS ANNOUNCED AS JOINT WINNERS OF 2019/20 TUNNOCK’S CARAMEL WAFER CUP The Scottish Professional Football League (the “SPFL”) today announced that the final of the Tunnock’s Caramel Wafer Cup will not take place and that Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Raith Rovers have been declared joint winners of the competition for Season 2019/20. Winners’ medals will be distributed to both clubs shortly. Chief Executive of the SPFL Neil Doncaster said: “Sadly, the disruption caused by Covid-19 has meant that it has not been possible to stage the final of the Tunnock’s Caramel Wafer Cup 2019/20. We held off for as long as we could to give us the best chance of staging the final in front of meaningful numbers of fans this season – but it just wasn’t feasible. “The SPFL Board has therefore declared Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Raith Rovers joint winners. On behalf of the SPFL, our sincere congratulations to both clubs, their players and coaching staff on becoming the first ever joint champions of the competition. “We are looking forward to the Challenge Cup resuming next season, when it will be known as the SPFL Trust Trophy, supported by money donated by philanthropists including James Anderson. In the meantime, I would like to thank MG ALBA, Tunnock’s, and the Boards of both Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Raith Rovers for their flexible approach as well as for their patience and understanding in reaching this decision. Director of Multiplatform Content for MG ALBA, Iseabail Mactaggart, said: “MG ALBA have very much enjoyed our association with the Challenge Cup since BBC ALBA first became the broadcaster of that competition in 2008. We congratulate all at Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Raith Rovers for being joint winners of the Tunnock’s Caramel Wafer Cup 2019/20. We all missed the competition this season and we look forward to covering the SPFL Trust Trophy for Season 2021/22 later this year.” Chairman of Tunnock’s, Sir Boyd Tunnock, commented: “On behalf of Tunnock’s, I congratulate the players, staff and directors of Inverness Caledonian Thistle FC and Raith Rovers FC on becoming joint winners of the Tunnock’s Caramel Wafer Cup. We have enjoyed our association with this unique competition and wish all the teams involved in next year’s competition the very best of luck.” Inverness Caledonian Thistle Chief Executive Scot Gardiner said: “The Tunnock’s Caramel Wafer Cup of Season 2019/20 was certainly a rollercoaster of a competition, which for us culminated in the thrilling and controversial semi-final here at Caledonian Stadium v Rangers Colts. “At the end of that tie, we were second in the Championship and Raith Rovers were, I believe, leading League 1. This season’s Challenge Cup was not even played. Since that game was played, there has been such a long time between then and now and while we were originally happy to try and play the final subject to fans being allowed in, both squads have changed so dramatically that we no longer believe, if the game was to be played, that it would be fair to either set of players who fought so hard to reach the 2019/20 final. “We only have around five players left from that semi-final winning squad and we could even have the prospect of one of our players from that match being set to play against us. Subsequently, playing the rescheduled match from two seasons ago would mean that, unfortunately, cup sporting integrity would be long gone and accordingly, we feel that the best solution is to award both team squads from that season winners’ medals. For some of the players, they may not ever get the chance again to receive such a medal and we feel this is the fairest solution in unprecedented circumstances for all parties.” Raith Rovers Chairman John Sim commented: “On behalf of everyone associated with Raith Rovers, I am delighted that we have been declared joint winners of the Tunnock’s Caramel Wafer Cup. Whilst we are obviously disappointed that our fans and management team have missed out on the excitement of a final and the opportunity to win the cup outright, we understand that the moment has passed and that we should all now look forward.” Just when you thought that Scottish football had hit rock bottom. They shoehorned 2 semi's and a final so that scum could win a Cup in a different season with a different squad but a match cannot be arranged to allow either ICT or Raith to win a cup.
  19. Yip. Down to bare bones. Too soon for me to make a decision about Simpson and Aribo will have to slot into a midfield position when everyone and his dog knows that the best of him is seen as one of a front 3. It is what it is so they ain't getting humped. A 1 goal win will do for me.
  20. Just love this particular fantasy.
  21. Bar scum everyone is entitled to an opinion. For me Alfredo is our best player. He will follow whatever instructions he is given by management at the weekend to the letter. He may get a hat trick or through little fault of his own may get sent off. Did I mention that I am a big Morelos fan and do not like to see criticism of him ?
