Decent enough gesture from Motherwell but how many season tickets did they sell last season ? Maybe 1,000. Tops. At what price ? Maybe 350 quid. So not a large sum of money involved. A couple of years ago I had high hopes for Middleton. I thought that he would become a first team regular. But he has failed to develop. He will still have a career in football and could earn a very decent wage in England (lower leagues). Just can't see him pulling on the jersey again and strutting his stuff in the CL. Ryan Kent he is not. So probably best for the club just to cash in this summer and see what we can get for him. That said I expect Gerrard to take him to the preseason camp before making a final decision.

Who would we miss the most ? Not one of those 4 we would not miss. McLaughlin and Patterson in the starting XI would not upset me in the slightest so, for me, I guess it's Goldson or Davis. I think that Goldson just shades it.

scum don't have a recruitment team so it's hit and miss with them. We, on the other hand, get most signings right. Due diligence, value for money, potential, etc etc.

scum don't have a manger yet so I don't see how they can have a recruitment plan for next season at the moment.

Spoonburners are always difficult to deal with. I don't see us splashing millions on a player who will spend most of his time on the bench. In the ability of our recruitment team to find value I have no doubt. If Borna goes this summer then I sure they have better options lined up than Doig for the same price.

I doubt if Gerrard will even care about this award. No doubt that he should get it but if St Johnstone do the cup double then it will go to Perth. Gives those that don't want to vote Rangers a slightly credible alternative.

While we have done fine without him it's all about Gerrard having options regarding who starts on a game to game basis. A fully fit Jack has a role to play next season.

Doig could push Bassey for a spot on the bench. Nisbet we would never sign. Too many better players in his position. If that list was extended to 11 players they would all come out of our squad.
