  1. Not sure if this point has been made previously but...Nae fuckin danger would aberdeen have sold hayes to us for a million quid. They were holding out for a million from clubs down south. Now if we went sniffing around that would have been a different ball game, they would not have sold him to us for a million quid. Would they sell their best player to their closest (league) rivals half way through the season for what they view as there minimum valuation of him? Would they shite, It makes me wonder why MW thought he could even get him for a million. The board probably realised as that they would have to pay well over the odds, something MW always said he never wanted to do, but he tried to do it anyway?
  2. Totally agree, the bit when he is asked. So would to take the job Alex? He sit up in his chair claps his hands......a need to em wait for the call...Awkward tele but brilliant thats who we want back a man who can tell the boys in our changing room you are playing for one of the worlds biggest and the most successful clubs, pulling on that jersey and seeing that badge on it should be motivation enough, if it isny you know where the door is!
  3. it was almost awkward watching him in that interview looked like a wee school boy he was so excited and then he must have said to himself "calm doon ya dafty they havny even called you yet!"
  4. regarding both your points, when he was getting interviewed at the Morton game, he looked like he just wanted to say, i would bite your hand off if you gave me the chance to go back. I think he really wants this job, even if it was only short term i think he sees and opportunity to get back to the club he loves and to help them out. he probably holds the same opinion regarding the team as we do and knows what needs done to fix it. He for sure wants that job
  5. would like it to be done soon, but also happy that the board have not shat it and just appointed the first person who would say yes. Need to get it right and also i think they are going down the right avenue by making it interim until the summer (which could be adding to the delay) The board took a game on the 3 stooges, and unfortunately it did not pay off. They need to get this one right, one mistake we can live with two would be a fuckin disaster!
  6. i think what a lot of people are getting at regarding team selection was the random changes, everytime time i saw waggy, Moh Garner up front they would miss sitters, have bad touches etc and you think well this is their first game in a month or whichever. It was a really issue that he would allow the likes of tav and hailday etc to play regardless of how shite they were, yet dodoo or Moh or hodson could play brilliantly and be out the squad the following week. I think that had a major part to play in the regression of the team this season. Players were starting because they were starters not because they deserved. And when Hyndman and Toral came in, both barley in training for a week and both start? I get your point regarding injuries, but he seemed to pick teams based on who he liked and poor performers would keep their place while others never really got a look in...and am still looking for this pathway for the young uns to first team.
  7. scary...really scary. What i want to know is what the fuck were they doing during their "analysis" they seemed to spend most their time sitting watching past games and the "opposition" apparently.
  8. I would like to know if this is a FM or a MW signing however. Think everyone should just go with FM, he will have fucked off soon anyhoo!!
  9. Dunno, how i managed that one! only half way through ma first brew of the day will blame it on that! haha
  10. I wonder if this is a signing that MW is trying to make himself, or if it is Frank McPardland target that MW is following through. Would be interesting to know. Because Frank has been utter dog shit for being "one of the best in the business" And whoever it is he is trying to sign, if they are not an experienced CDM, i think i will lose all respect for the man.
  11. I would imagine he has been told this from people in the game, get on with it! you want to be a successful footballer at any level, i mean from 7-a-side to running our for Barca, you have to get over mistakes. Listen to good criticism, ignore bad and only you can control how well or poorly you play.
  12. i completely get what he is saying. But what a cop out of an excuse, yes every team has games like this. but every game is like this for us for christ sake. Put it this way if i was a professional basketball player and was practicing some free throws, have 25 shots, i sink one, but 22 of my shots hit the rim, bounce of the backboard...blach blach. Would my coach say well done mate, just the random nature of it, you deserved to sink about 20 of those shots. Its just random. WOULD HE FUCK HE WOULD SLAP ME ROUND THE HEED AND SAY "YOU HAVING A LAUGH, "WHAT WAS THAT SHITE!!" stay there until you sink 20 shots.
  13. i agree that abuse is wrong, getting "stick" from the fans i agree with, and i dont know exactly what happened or was said to kiernan. But come on, footballers live a very privileged life, and if getting called a cunt here and there and someone saying they want to deck you cos your shite is the worst you have to put up with then so be it. Personally if i were a footballer, i would use that as motivation and after the initial, fuck them pricks. I would think, fuck me i need to get my arse in gear look how much this means to them. If he would rather bolt at the first sign of trouble then beat it. With that attitude he can go on to have a uneventful career down in league 1 winning nothing.
  14. Fod Hodgson Bates Hill Wallace WIlson Holt Hyndman MoH Miller Mckay Controversial slightly, i would keep in Foddy, he is doing well dont upset that. Tav has been shite and imo should be fighting to get in the team, bates cos why not give him a punt and see how he gets on. Dont we want to create a pathway to the first team for the youngsters? I would put Wilson in DM, a total gamble but it is my honest and unqualified opinion that he could do well in this position, he is defensively not the best. BUT i think he has an excellent range of passing and happy on the ball. defensively he will be ok with tackling and positioning i reckon, with hill at the back keeping him right. i would encourage holt to get forward and run with the ball, and to get into the box, and hyndman to be playmaker. I would also have wingers swap regularly. MoH to get to the byeline and cross and mckay to do what he wants and to be direct and run with the ball as and when he can.
  15. I dont think he is awful, he just doesny suit the system, when we bought him i looked him up, seemed a right number 9 fox in the box type. If we played quick one/two touch football moved the ball up the park quickly and got balls into the box i think he would get goals. at present we fuck about for around ten minutes passing it around and then a cross is punted in and we expect him and only him to get on the end of it. our style of play does not suit him at all, he feeds of chances and direct play. We create A LOT of half arsed chances thats about it. he is the type of striker who will get tap ins and score from crosses and that final killer ball. if we played with a bit of speed and encouraged players to RUN WITH THE BALL and actually have a shot he would score. the system we currently have demands almost like a false 9...which he is not, he is a striker and thats it. i just wonder why MW (OVERPAID) for him when he knew what he was getting. One of our biggest problems (to me) is MW wants all our players to be jack of all trades, masters of none. if you were playing say Joe, Barry and Waggy up top. I would say, barrie turn and run at defenders commit them and create space for joe, and midfielders to run into. Joe stay in the box, always look to shoot dont bother passing. Waggy run at players and shoot with your left or cross and Joe can possibly pick up the scraps. He just wants them all to pass it about, slow it down and then what... try and have our striker win a ball in the air against 6 opponents in the box???? tell the boys to do what they do well. That big toral, he has great feet and is a strong lad, but to me it looks like he is encouraged to pass, he should run will the ball get round defenders create space. but he doesny. we are essentially playing like a poor mans Arsenal
  16. watching it just now, sounds like he has been shouting a lot, his voice sounds very gravelly. I hope to fuck he puts up a front to the media and was going through them for every little fucking mistake they made and told them some home truths
  17. sorry aye your right, dinny get me wrong great day, but again there was a bawhair in it, and then fuck up the final!!!!!
  18. When are we going to have a good day at the office? if we win, its by a goal...maybe 2 if the opposition are particularly shite, last good day at the office was when we NARROWLY defeated Celtic in the semi. MW needs to think about it that way, aye sometimes we play nice stuff and sometimes we get good results. But 90% of the time its all if buts and maybes in our wins. If aberdeen came into about a million quid they would be a good 6-9 points ahead in second.
  19. None of this is an overreaction, the reason that we are the worlds most decorated football club, is because we have never accepted defeats....and way more importantly performances like that. we will not win every game, BUT we expect to and if we dont win, serious questions are asked. that is what has driven out past teams to success over and over again. So far this season I have said twice to mates etc "that is the worst rangers performance i have seen in my 27 years of being a supporter" one was in the 5-1 defeat, the other at Tynecastle in November and last night. 3 of the worst PERFORMANCES I have seen have come in one season. When we lose I can get over it if its one of these games where you dont have the luck, the opposition get lucky or whichever (even still questions are asked). But not a single player in blue last night looked like they wanted to win that game. I have supported MW from the get go, and will continue to until he is no longer our manger. But right now he deserves (and the players) to know how fucking shite they have been over and over again! MW changed nothing last night, he did nothing to impact that game. they didny know what they were doing, the worst of it was hearts didn't play fantastically, that is one of their best results, but I bet you its not one of their best performances, they deserved the win but they did noting world class they simply wanted it more than us! ! as someone else said, we had no fight, nobody wanted to win that game there was no motivation there was no aggression, once the 2nd went in they accepted defeat. This is not an "overreaction" this is a reaction to the SINGLE WORST RANGERS PERFORMANCE, I have ever seen.
  20. I really hope someone just puts things into perspective for him, he is 16, what is he gonnae do with 40k a week? and i get people talking about securing his future, and you are right, but that wont be in his mind at all. What someone need to explain to him is, you are not even 16 yet! you can play for 4 seasons up here and you will barley be 20 year old. What would you rather, playing in the rangers youth team and if you excel on to the first team. proper competitive football, maybe Europe, domestic cups all the pressure old firm games. Or play in the youth league down south until you what 20 odds? they young players need to see being at us (and Scottish league in general) as an apprenticeship and a good one at that! you can say all you like about the league, but its a professional league a much better challenge that farting about in a youth league. Hopefully someone ensures that he sees that.
  21. cheers, your man Senex up above made some good points that i did not consider. its tricky when you discuss anything to do with a football club, because a football club is a part of your family, your culture your history and your life, so you look at it with passion, its hard to take a step back and try and look at things for everyone.
  22. ah the gap... my opinion is that there is obviously a gap in finances. I think (and will proven right or wrong in the coming years) that rangers are going about their business in the last 18 months or so correctly. Celtic Fucked up massively by not investing correctly while we were down in the lower leagues. They DID have the opportunity to pump money into scouting networks, youth development, and buying and selling young players for big money. They have done that to an extent, but nowhere near as much as they could have. And after we bet them in the semi final they got a massive reality check. They suddenly realised they had be bobbing about aimlessly to busy laughing at us, to notice that we were right back up there arse again. So they make (in my opinion) good, but knee jerk reactions because they panicked that we could come back up and be pushing for the title that season (if celtic kept delia etc) and that a humiliation such as this could not happen. So they bring in Brendan, good appointment and a good manger. But he is a premiership caliber manager, who was conveniently unemployed at the time. He has no ambition to stay at celtic any longer than he has to, because he can walk back down south when he sees a job he fancies. Their two best players (sinclair, Demebele) are of a similar mould, Sinclair will go back to England as soon as a decent enough opportunity arises, as will dembele. And then celtic will have lost their manager and two good players and are now back to square one, all of a sudden they desperately need a manager and their team doesn't look quite as good as it did. Meanwhile i think we have went down the "its a marathon not a sprint" road. We selected the exact TYPE of manger that we needed in our current situation, we are bringing in players cheaply (which has benefits and drawbacks) with a view to selling on at a profit and trying to build off the field as well as on it, with scouts, youth academy etc being crucial now more than ever. I think our method will prove to be the correct one, and soon celtic will be in the same situation that they were at the end of last season. We are looking forward, and trying to change things and modernise, celtic are too busy looking back at us. Or put another way, rangers are looking to improve to compete with celtic and to get better than celtic, we are looking beyond celtic. Celtic are looking back at us in hope that we dont get as good as them. They had their chance to create a gap that we could perhaps never close, and didn't. There is a gap, but its closing, little by little. I dont like where we are, no rangers fan wants to be 19 points behind those pricks at any time, but we are where we are. It doesnt mean we drop our ambition or drop our standards, we just need a little more patience than we are perhaps used too.
  23. he has a history of injuries from his time at Liverpool, if i was MW and medical team. I would want to investigate why he is so prone to injury, and maybe thats what they are doing. he could be doing a lot of strength and conditioning work to try and prevent the injury from occurring in the future. when MW refers to players as "assets" rossiter optimizes this. Young lad with a lot of potential, they probably view keeping him on the sidelines for 6 months and working on his flexibility, strength etc to hopefully prevent injuries more important that trying to get him fit as soon as possible. that way you have a young lad with a lot of potential who has overcome past injuries and his legs are now made of steal as opposed to candy floss.
