  1. Going on your point that those players would have been given the chance to go to another Club, got the Club some money and that would have helped to stabilise the club. No transfer money would have gone to help stabilise the club. It was plain that the idiots in charge of the club would've sold the jerseys to make themselves richer. You're kidding yourself if you think any incoming cash would not have found it's way into a bank account far removed from the club. So whether they jumped ship or stayed to be sold the outcome would be the same except some spiv might have had more money to buy another vineyard or Monaco hidey hole. We all wanted our best players to stay, and we probably could have afforded them to with the amount of wasted money over the years, but I can't really blame them for going. They were being messed about re contracts and made a personal career decision. Some I detest due to their excuses for leaving and bad mouthing of our club later, but others like Davis I'm not so bothered about.
  2. Don't you mean we could've got some money so the crooks could steal even more from us. Hardly any money due to the club in those dark days went near the club. None of those shysters in charge had any intention of stabilising the club.
  3. Great player. He might not have stuck with us through the bad times but a fine footballer.
  4. All the best Joe. Gave us all he had but we needed more. One of those players I wanted to succeed but it wasn't to be.
  5. Don't much care for it myself but there's hardly a game anywhere these days without at least one player who does it. It doesn't inflame me, I just don't see why they do it, but it won't put me off any player. They'll get more abuse from me if they play shite.
  6. At least one police force is getting it right Identify the hooligan ring leader "in the stripey shirt" police swiftly move in to take him out Police Scotland could learn a few things from the Met Police
  7. Pedro is bringing in new faces and the last thing he wants them to see is half hearted players in training. Anyone who puts more effort into bevvying than their football is of no use to us.
  8. The problem for a lot of Benfica players is that the club spends multi-millions on players. That club must be minted and aren't going to spend a lot of time on a player if he doesn't produce something special right away. They can afford to offload decent players to the B team or put them out n loan.
  9. It's good to see the manager getting backing from the club for his transfer targets, and all this optimism is great, but I'm reserving judgement until I actually see these players play and how Pedro lines up his side. Obviously things can't be any worse than the season there, but somehow I just can't get carried away like some are. Too often have we signed a gem to watch him falter and I'm wary that it could easily happen again and again. Hopefully we are putting together a strong winning squad, but I'll wait until I see it before throwing out the praise.
  10. He's been here long enough to prove himself and apart from one or two decent moments hasn't done enough overall. With better players coming in he'll find it difficult to get a game. If we get a half decent offer for him I'd take it.
  11. And I'd agree if they made the top blue instead of that yukky faded denim colour. We are the boys in yukky faded denim doesn't have the same ring to it.
  12. It's going to be all about Pedro getting them to play well together. The board seem to be doing their bit. There could be a whole new team on the pitch and they'll need to hit the ground running (both figuratively and literally)
  13. OK. I didn't know that. It is unforgivable if they were lining their pockets when they knew funds were being stretched. But we have to move on. There's really no point in regurgitating endless threads about Ally's salary.
  14. Is that true though or just Internet stories? Smith made out he didn't know what Ally was being paid. I agree they were all on too much money with outrageous clauses but if I was offered a large contract I would be assuming the company could easily afford it. I just hope mismanagement of the club is well behind us. No amount of looking back will change anything.
  15. So who asked for the clause to be put in his contract? Was it Smith safeguarding his young apprentice? Mccoist didn't write the contract. He only signed it when offered. Should he have asked, "isn't that a bit much?" Aye right ye are!
  16. Always good to have another link to the fuckin Record. Ffs
  17. Anybody tell me what it means to be part of the travel club? I've never had a job where I could follow in Europe away (nae money, too busy to take time off etc) although upcoming circumstances might allow it in future. What does a member get out of it.
  18. It's not a lie though if they are quoting some nob from their hotline which is what it seems like. A clickbait headline that's got a lot of folk annoyed about nothing.
  19. Home team keeps their gate money. It's worth £10m+ plus winners go straight into CL group stages. Makes it worth a possible £20m+. Though I doubt we'll get to the EL group stages never mind win it.
  20. The guy gave us 10 years service. No reason to be upset that he's now taken a position with another club. Weve got new people in place now. Good luck to him
  21. I doubt he will release a list of who is staying. All he needs is one list of those leaving. Plus the names of any signings.
  22. We've got a lot to thank him for then. Get him signed.
