  1. I agree mate but don't think Oduwa or Zelalem are 'really' the most talented. Neither of them have scored a goal. Holt has probably assisted more than both combined if I checked the records so far, possibly scored more than both have assisted too. Also, Halliday is decent as DM at this level, but playing Halliday there although he's a good player is like playing a CM who isn't defensive, there is a possibilty we could get outmuscled in midfield etc.I'm not calling for some 7ft tank, I'm just saying DM is probably our weakest position in the squad, if Halliday is injured our only backup. is Thompson. I'm not doubting him in any way, but he could be probably even more effective playing in Zelalem's spot with a real Championship enforcer or good find from MW as CDM. For me Halliday has more of a attacking benefit of being able to score from outside the box if he waited to be tee'd up for shots from outside it possibly in Zelalem's spot, which would give us more defensive bite in the final third too, rather than trying to focus on defense as his main strength. Long Shooting is one of his best qualities but he never gets a pop from CDM. I'm not a football manager but. No offence to Zelalem, but for me, Shiels or Law or someone should be starting ahead of him next match. Barry McKay would even be a shout centrally but GZ would probably throw the rattle out the pram if MW dropped him like that and leave at Xmas. Shiels and Law seem to make things happen instead of just receiving the ball and then looking for a pass always at the same rate it seems like eg like a reserve game, they seem to make more attacking runs and cause more goal threat with more physicality. GZ probably has more transfer value, but Shiels & Law have both scored more than him with less time, I might just feel a bit overreacted at the poor result today, but I would even go so far to say that if GZ was actually our player, I would loan him out to English League one/Championship instead of playing for us at the moment and give Law/Shiels their last year of decent playtime then leave, then bring a strong midfielder in to play with Zelalem, Holt, Halliday, and a good CDM. I rated him very highly, but I would prefer Lewis MacLeod than him ... maybe GZ will be top player one day, but at the present I'm sure LMac would have contributed to our team a lot more, and got more assists and goals, and is a boyhood fan.
  2. We do have a 'plan B' m8, Miller went Central when subbed on for Oduwa (good at creating chances today, but every shot [2/3?] he hit today was off target), Waghorn changed from Central to Wide Right Forward, that looks like a Plan B to me. I would say today was just down to the team having a bad day at the office by doing slack passing too much, not being aggressive enough to get the 2nd goal after 1st one we didn't take control after 1st goal like usual, played into Livi's hands a bit by losing the ball too much with much poorer ball retention than usual, and hit a few more long passes than usual today which gave them possession more than a few times. It will become a lot better when W&W can bring more faces in.
  3. I think the only problems from today was just a bad day at the office with slack passing and not showing enough aggression in the final third after getting the 1st goal and maybe giving Livi too much respect in that sense. We should have started to steamroller them and upped the tempo quickly to get 2 and seize the match after the 1st goal like we done to Hibs and our other usually good performances this season, but our repeated slack passing prevented us from getting to our usual level of performance today. You can always try to excuse it and say that we hit the post/should have had penalty etc., but we have hit the post and had goal line saves/clearances/pen shouts etc. not given against us nearly every match including in the 2 losses and one draw this season, and 12 win run etc.. I would rather be saying that we prevailed, and not let poorer teams take any points from us. Some matches we hit the post 2-3 times with a 4-0 win etc, so that can't be used as an excuse when we don't win. We just didn't hit our normal levels today. The team looked dejected at the draw, I'm certain next match will be back to our normal levels even if it isn't a big scoreline. I would rather have a little wake up call now than next season. Warbs will recognise everything that is needed for the team more than anyone else, I'm definitely not panicking at all. I'm one of Warbs biggest fans I think but i'm disappointed we let Livi take a point from us, there was only like a 1% chance of it happening but it happened.. Every dog has their day, onwards towards 55
  4. I'm glad we're at where we're at now, but today's result is unacceptable. We controlled most of the match then one slack pass (of too many) gave Livi the ball right outside our box when they scored. The team looked pedestrian today, and slack passing was happening the full match it seemed like .. If we're going to give away cheap goals then we need to score them and put away our chances. Most of the teams in SPFL Premiership could beat us if we play as poor as that. There's no point being Mr Brave (no pointing elbows) saying Hibs don't have the bottle to win the title during the week then ending up with egg on your face at the weekend drawing 1-1 with Livi because of a poor lacklustre performance, after a 2 week break. At the start of the season we were phenomenal but our goal difference is slowly starting to look more like Hibs .. Don't get me wrong, i'm still confident we will cruise to the title but improvement is needed for the Premiership to take it by storm for 55. The day we can excuse drawing with Livi is the day we become a 2nd tier club
  5. I didn't watch MW's presser after the match, because nothing he could have possibly said would have excused drawing with Livi today .. I'm starting to look forward to a new signing in January now
  6. BridgeIsBlue the new RM wannabe dictator
  7. Lee Wallace has scored into Celtic too mate, when we beat them 3-2 on 25 March 2012. It was a great goal, link to the video of it: https://www.facebook.com/RangersFCsince1872/videos/488075257942661/
  8. Kenny miller in first 5 games of the season (3 sub appearances I think and 2 starts) - 5 goals He's definitely effective even if he was only a 2nd/3rd choice for any of front 3 positions A year contract extension and then maybe keep him as a coach will do me
  9. Nothing wrong with this. Innocent until proven guilty. For all we know it was only Nickys brother who made a disturbance, so I don't see how this automatically means he is finished at Rangers ... Leigh Griffiths done 10x worse than this and he stayed at Celtic, Scott Brown did worse with Kebabgate and is still captain, The only way Nicky Clark would be finished at Rangers is if he doesn't start to score more goals in his playing time.
  10. I agree mate, but the club logos look brilliant as well and it allows them to make the whole sign royal blue and stand out more because it would probably be B+W if it was legends. This is great for the stadium and club.
  11. One of the best Official Statements from the club in the past 4 years except from Mark Warburton's statements.
  12. The SPFL & SFA change and edit the rulebook, to change the rules and scenario to their suiting as they go along anyway to help them try say we broke the rules. So I wouldn't be surprised. Maybe they will accept full knowledge of this just now like they did with EBT's, and then wait 4 years before they change the rules and start their investigation for this one, with a panel they appointed to punish us like they did with EBT's.
  13. Maybe the advert system sensed the keyword 'EBT' is used a lot here and tried to use targeted advertising. I'm not sure how web advertising works fully, but if you looked at a new tv on Amazon for example, then a lot of advert banners showing you TV's from Amazon would start to show up on the websites you visit. If you delete your cookies that removes the targeting of it back to standard ads.
  14. Waggy only stated the obvious when he said Rangers are better than Hibs. Like Waggy said, Rangers do our talking on the park not in the media like Hibs Players. (link to Waghorn article yesterday where he said it: http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11788/10061213/martyn-waghorn-believes-rangers-are-better-than-rivals-hibs
  15. I said I think the playstyle is the same, except Barrie does it for Rangers while Douglas Costa does it for Bayern
  16. stop reading all you want chum. You must not even know the way Douglas Costa plays or else you would see the similarity
  17. McKay's playstyle is like Douglas Costa of Bayern, if you watch both. Both are insanely fast wingers with great ball control and more often than not get past their man at the edges of the box then smack a low cross or pass into their box for their team to score, and both get a lot of assists that way. Barrie is excellent in his own right and Barrie deserves all of the praise he gets this season. He would easily be one of the best Scottish Premiership wingers already imho. He would run rings around most of the full backs in there already and at only 21 or 20 I hope he is at Rangers for a long time. For me Barrie is like a Neil McCann and will grow into a player as great as that for us.
  18. MARK WARBURTON shot down reports linking him with QPR. And he vowed he’s at Ibrox for the long haul. The Londonder said he was unaware of reports in England suggesting the other Rangers are plotting a move for him. Warburton, whose side romped to a 4-0 victory over Alloa at Ibrox, said: “It’s flattering to be linked but my job is at Rangers. You can’t ask players to commit to a project if you’re not committed too. “My focus is on taking Rangers forward as quickly as possible. This is a fantastic club and our targets are very clear. "You can't ask players to be committed to a project and then not show commitment yourself. "We know what we have to do. It is a fantastic club. Our target are very clear. "We have had a good start and our focus is 100 per cent taking Rangers forward." The Englishman was pleased with how his league leaders bounced back from last weekend's first defeat of the season against Hibs at Easter Road. And after the Glasgow giants recorded a 12th win in 13 league games, he added: "It was a pleasing afternoon's work. We showed good attitude from the first whistle worked tirelessly and showed quality. "We just couldn't break down the defence as we hoped on occasions but we will learn from that. "There is no lack of focus from players. We lost one game, we are five points clear, we are in good shape right now." Hitman Martyn Waghorn took his tally for the season to 17 after hitting a double against the Wasps. But the striker rued a first-half sitter which cost him a hat-trick after failing to connect a James Tavernier cross in front of an open goal. He said: "It was important that we got back on a winning run but I am very disappointed (that I didn't get a hat-trick). "I had two or three chances but the one in the first half was a lack of concentration, very poor from me. "It was probably too easy. I probably started thinking it was a goal but it was a lack of concentration and lack of quality." Alloa boss Danny Lennon, though, awarded Waghorn some unusual praise. He said: "I thought his movement today was absolutely terrific. "Even as well as we tried to flood those gaps - NASA couldn't keep track his movement. It was fantastic. "But I took a lot of positives in terms of the way we competed but when you come to Ibrox, a big club like this, and Rangers have a point to prove after losing last week, it makes it doubly hard." 19. You can still refer to him as 'Magic Hat'. Even though we say that he 'has' a magic hat in the song. PS bye.
  20. I think you got the wrong end of the stick BridgeIsBlue you really took the biscuit there .... The prophecy I meant was Bill Struth said: "Never fear, inevitably we shall have our years of failure, and when they arrive, we must reveal tolerance and sanity. No matter the days of anxiety that come our way, we shall emerge stronger because of the trials to be overcome. That has been the philosophy of the Rangers since the days of the gallant pioneers." Bill Struth said it however many years ago, then finally now this situation of his quote has happened. We are definitely emerging stronger from Admin 1 thanks to Magic Hat and his philosophy and rebuilding Murray Park Youth Academy. In no way does that imply admin 2 like you said 'looks like is around the corner' just because of that Bill Struth quote.
  21. ignore it if you want, but that looks like a prophecy to me mate. .. if there ever was one for Rangers then that is it . Ps cheryl cole memes are naff
  22. Magic Hat leaving Rangers before the project is over will never happen. Mark Warburton was written into history, as the modern true Rangers class manager - to find us in our hour of need to take us back to where we belong and propel us back into greatness forever, with the foundations Magic Hat has put in place. Like the Bill Struth quote excerpt: "Never fear, inevitably we shall have our years of failure, and when they arrive, we must reveal tolerance and sanity. No matter the days of anxiety that come our way, we shall emerge stronger because of the trials to be overcome. That has been the philosophy of the Rangers since the days of the gallant pioneers." I feel like this whole thing has been some sort of prophecy, destined to make us greater than we were before it, which we are going to become under Mark Warburton. The situation helped us find the true best Rangers class manager(s) in the world MW+DW, and also helped us unearth a true Rangers class captain too Lee Wallace, who has all the honour and class of former RFC captains such as Richard Gough, like MW too. These are the best 2 men in the entire world who could have been chosen as our manager and captain, and it feels like a prophecy for them to lead us back to greatness, which they are going to. We will definitely emerge stronger from this situation than we were before it, especially with MW at the helm. It feels like a prophecy for our club for Magic hat to lead us to 55 and start the Rangers Dynasty in Scotland, with all of the foundations he is putting in place especially Murray Park and his philosophy.
