  1. Looking purely at games played and goals scored, yes, but in the Eredivise and Jupiler combined he scores a goal every 147 minutes so 1 in every 2. From what I've seen from him and where I think he can thrive we have not upgraded from Colak but I do think Beale, like most our squad, is using him wrongly.
  2. Just someone that will play attacking football and will play into our players' strengths rather than disadvantage us every big game by highlighting our weakesses. I'm no asking for much.
  3. When it comes to our backline I think it comes down to the decisions our manager is making. Our defence is rank rotten. We know the deficiences of the full backs (we also know their strengths), Souttar gives away at least one golden chance every game by being daft with the ball or just not concentrating, Goldson is getting worse defensively each passing game and is a bomb scare on the ball in big games and Davies cannot deal with big games. On the other hand we have all these attack minded players (including the full backs) and still we want to play some complicated disjointed game that exposes our centre halfs with and without the ball. Either we play all 3 (Souttar and Davies both played that way before signing) and ease the pressure on them with and without the ball. Or we start pressing and get our attacking players higher up the park and get them involved in these type of games. We could also do both.
  4. Only thing I'm confident in is the signings. I think there is things we could with that squad, especially in scotland against a piss poor celtic. Beale isn't the man to do that though!
  5. And go over the top with the slowest striker we have available
  6. His first touch is miserable but see to be fair to the big man what chance does have when Beale has the side playing in such a manner that his best chance is chasing after loose balls? He clearly isn't a Morelos replacement from what I've seen, in fact he's closer to Colak than anything. He's no quick and he's not the best at holding up but has a superb goal record in reputable leagues. Get him in the box, let people get close to him and create chances for him.
  7. I like to think I'm balanced and patient but fuck me it is hard to be patient today. He's not got a fucking scooby. Learned absolutely nothing from Servette away and PSV during the week and has blown a huge opportunity for a win against them early on in the season. Best manager in the world at winning games that mean fuck all. Dessers, Roofe, Matondo, Lammers, Sima, Danilo, Cantwell, Tav, Cifuentes, Lawrence, Yilmaz and I'd include Raskin. All players who are better in other teams half combined with a horror show of a defence and once again he has a combination of 6 of them sitting in our own half letting callum fucking mcgregor run the game. We've built an attacking squad but time after time Beale wants to over think every factor of it and nobody can thrive when they're being so clearly held back. Cantwell who, for me, is our stand out player has been completely neutered this season and that is spreading like wild fire.
  8. 100%. Just noticed that Yilmaz is on the bench, strange that he isn't starting.
  9. Sterling didn't look good on Wednesday though we were chasing the game when he came on and he was up against an absolute talent in Bakayoko.New game today though In terms of balance playing him along with Matondo who is just a pure winger should be fine. I'd imagine we build with a three which hopefully will free Tav up as much as possible. Cantwell and Dessers to score.
  10. I would just go with what seemed to work in May with the base being Butland, Tav, Goldson, Souttar, Barisic, Jack, Lundstram, Raskin tomorrow. Up front it will be Dessers and Roofe but personally I would go with Sima & Matondo. Sakala and Matondo caused real problems against them by coming in and out and giving Cantwell the space to roam in to and create havoc.
  11. Just make sure you stick at least a wee quid on that
  12. The draw could be better and it could be worse. What we spend on our squad compared to Sparta and Aris means that we should be going through...though if I know Rangers!!
  13. How him and his family used to gather round and watch Izaguirre play for celtic. Supported the club ever since!
  14. Even Dessers would have scored that!
  15. I think I'll reserve my CL watching for the PSG, Dortmund, AC Milan and Newcastle group. That looks a tasty watch!
  16. For me our transfer business has been done in mind for domestic football. Guys who can play in the final third and win games. They'll come in and out as the season goes on. Now how that translates to Europe and to tonight, I just don't know. However, having the likes of Cifuentes, Raskin and Matondo pinned back in your own third is just asking for trouble. In the Europa League it may look naive at times but we must get the pros and take out the cons of our new signings in these types games. If he wants to be tight and rigid in Europe then fine play 3 CBs, Jack and Lundstram but don't have players doing jobs they aren't equipped (or bought) to do.
  17. Thing is they know they wont get a game here either though. There is no path to first team football unlike PSV who give players debuts at 17/18 and slowly build up their games then sell them for mad money.
  18. And the Dutch teams results in Europe show it. Looking to 2/3 years in the future they will overtake France in the coefficient.
  19. Dont want to tarnish all the new players yet (still think its early) but in general and for years we aren't looking in the right places and, maybe most importantly, we aren't developing our own. PSV tonight had 3 of their own in the starting line up, 2 who featured from the bench and 1 who was unused sub that did feature last week. We had 4 of our own there to make up numbers on the bench. Talented players who are home grown and typically cost less.
  20. Still chasing after Saibari tonight
  21. After tonight it looks stupid to be positive at all but I still think what he wants to do and the different options we have will suit us domestically. History does show that European and domestic results rarely cross over in Scotland. In terms of Europe tonight has to be the wake up call like Kilmarnock was domestically. Going into the Europa League I hope we try to play with more control rather than a counter attacking game which clearly doesn't suit the profile of our players. Having the likes of Raskin, Cifuentes and Matondo pinned back in our own half takes away from their biggest strengths.
  22. I'm no in "sack him" column at all but i'd be calling for his head if celtic managed to pick up 4 points against us on Sunday
  23. We've been in a complete rot away in Europe since McGregor made that wonder save against Slavia. Either we go full walternaccio and commit to it our we protect the ball in Europe or this will happen. If we want to get into the CL our best route is winning that fucking league. Less said about tonight the better, on to Sunday
  24. Our away record outside the top 4 leagues in the last 2.5 years has been rubbish to. I think it's 1 win in 11 since we beat Royal Antwerp 4-3.
