  1. Aye that is a bit different. Beat us 5 times and celtic once. Twice in our first season back up when we were rotten and they were better than they are now. Another two of the wins were in cup competitions where I'd say the motivation to get through, or in one case a final, is just as high as beating us.
  2. In their last 13 against Aberdeen they've won by more than one goal three times and drew twice. Against us in the last 13 we've beat them 5-0, 4-0 x2 and once 4-1. We've drawn 4 times to them. In 4 of those games we drew the first after being 2-0 up playing brilliantly went to chuck it away. WE were pish in the 0-0 after Xmas 2019, the 2-2 in 2021 at Ibrox we started off sluggish and the 1-1 last year at pittodrie we were utter shit yet again. Say what you want about aberdeen but we've tanked them just as many times as them over the last 3/4 years and the majority of games we've slipped up against them it's about what we haven't done rather than what Aberdeen have done.
  3. If we play how we did in the second half teams will fear us or change their approach to us. Get back to a high press, some intensity, composure and patience in the final third. Thistle got in our final third twice in that second half and one occasion was when we literally let them
  4. So much better in the second half. Kent just adds something different and Roofe is able to link up play from higher and in a much calmer way compared to Hagi or Cantwell. It aloud us to get much wider. Raskin and Tillman ran the show. Excellent from both and exciting going forward for the club!
  5. Giving Thistle that goal isn't even Beale's biggest mistake today. Glen Kamara is still on.
  6. Domestically arguably our worst half this season. Our best player has been McGregor which says it all. Too narrow today, all the space is out wide and we're not exploiting it at all. Hagi, Tillman and Cantwell all want to be the one that has to make a neat pass or a dribble past two or three players. They need to calm it down so we can bring Tav and Borna into the game and provide Colak with chances.
  7. The current manager should just let us have the best of both worlds with Alfie with him being the link up striker along with a goal threat playing alongside a more clinical goal scoring striker such as Colak or Roofe (when fit). Pretty sure on average when we started with Morelos with Roofe or Defoe we scored more goals and won more games.
  8. According to the transfer market back then and in comparison to now if we absolutely trace it then Ally would be a 12 million pound striker and Maradona the 198 million pound superstar. The sad thing about it is our most costly player today Ryan Kent his 7 million pound fee today is worth about 106k in '83 around 57% of Ally's fee. I have no doubt we went well above that in the 90s but I'm curious as to when it seriously started to stagnate for us.
  9. I agree with you on this. If not the best pound for pound then one of the best. His goal against Red Star to take us into the CL in 2007 puts him in there considering he paid himself 20 times over. Then if you include the goals against celtic, goals to help us win a league title, a Scottish Cup winning goal (a rarity for any Rangers player in the last 40 years), important away goals in Europe (CSKA, Famagusta & Panathaniakos) and of course that penalty in Florence. No bad for 400k. As about as good a big game player we've had since Albertz. 3 league medals, 2 League Cups, a Scottish Cup and a European Final to back it all up.
  10. Sakala is probably the last guy in that starting 11 at the moment that needs competition. Arguably been our most dangerous player the last month or two and has the stats to prove it. We moan about goals and assists so often but we have a guy who since the moment he came in the door has provided this along with burning pace and a good desire. Also to change the front 4 of Sakala, Tillman, Kent and Morelos makes no sense. It's been the highlight of Beale's reign so far.
  11. Started to get a real bit of consistency there. Since Ross County we now have 6 clean sheets in 9 and conceded only 4. The most promising thing is we're giving very little up!
  12. I agree with you. We need guys out the door as well as coming in. We either need the board to be generous and leverage a few players for 6 months until we get guys off the wage bill. We know most of this squad is done or has been here too long.
  13. He needs backed though as well. His and Gerrard's football finally started to have regular and consistent results once we had a squad capable of winning games no matter what. We just don't have anything close to that at the moment.
  14. After Ross County, Motherwell and Dundee Utd I thought we were getting back to two years ago with how we'd control games and give very little away but tonight we were disjointed as we have been most of the season. Any time Kilmarnock had any sustained possession we looked like we could concede. The same goes for set peices which we did concede twice and nearly another goal or two. Now I do like how Beale is going about things, we're attacking and trying to win games rather than be happy with "keep the zero" and to an extent it is working but as some have mentioned it's unsustainable. However, probably not Beale's fault in the grand picture. Our front 4 at the moment of Morelos, Kent, Sakala and Tillman are winning us games. The fact we played 80 minutes with only three of them and carrying Arfield and still managing to score three goals shows Beale is doing something right. A bit more control in games, possession a bit higher up the park and some new fucking players and I reckon we're on to something.
  15. As poor a first 20 minutes as we've had this season and that's saying something. Managed to get a goal from good individual play but it marginally got better. Lack of real control, not pinning them back, poor ball retention when pressured and that doesnt help when defensively we're a shambles. Everyone apart from Sakala has been awful but Arfield has been non existent. Good sub but cannot start games anymore.
  16. I know what the Aberdeen player is up to but Colak was outstanding at Ibrox against them and probably his best all round game for us.
  17. If that is the agreed fee then I don't think 6 million is completely out of the question for him based on what he is contributing, his age, his potential and how good, or bad, we have actually been this season. The standard bearers for that kind of money up here at the moment is Kent and jota. He has more goals and assists than Kent does domestically and is brand new to the team and much younger. He's only 2/3 goals/assists off jota who is playing in a better team at the moment, already a regular fixture after being there a year and 3 years older.
  18. Perfect example right there. We had one exactly like that against Motherwell and McGregor just let it run across him. It could have easily ended in a goal!
  19. A bit of a nothing game in the first half though a lot more control from us and we're now keeping teams a lot further away from our goal the more we play under Beale. The change at half time wins the game for us. Alfie's runs and dropping off changed everything. He, Tillman, Kent and Sakala are such a dynamic front 4. As much as I like Colak we need to see more of that from him. Only seen it once really against Aberdeen at Ibrox and it was probably our best performance all season under Gio. I was glad to see McLaughlin back in goals instead of McGregor again if I'm honest. He has his flaws but he has the ability of actually being able to move.
  20. Superb player and seemed an absolute gentleman. Loved his Chelsea team as well. A sad loss to football!
  21. You would genuinely think we drew on Monday to keep celtic 9 points behind us. The cunts are fucking mental.
  22. Ideally you get rid of just about everybody who has been here since Gerrard's first two years but it doesnt work that way. We're going to have to be patient over the next couple of windows and factor in what contracts are finishing up etc. Everyone who is out of contract in the summer should be gone and that includes Kent who seems to be more interested since Beale came back. There's nobody in our squad worth much money at this point. There was Kamara but his form, like everyone elses, has tanked in the last 6-9 months.
  23. We probably downgraded on Barker when we signed Wright
  24. Amazingly I think we've still seen more from him under Beale than we've seen under Gio. In terms of positioning and runs he seems to get himself in a lot of good positions but like Sakala just has such poor composure. I always think players who get into these positions will eventually get rewards which we've actually seen with Sakala when you look at his stats(could be better though). I'm just hoping with a coach in now who clearly enjoys developing players he can turn things around for Matondo.
