How's Barton playing. I ask because I think is inclusion alongside Rossiter is a waste. Its still not stopping teams scoring against us and its reducing our attacking pace and creativity. Get our best pacy attacking players in the team and put teams on the back foot with relentless pace and direct play instead of excessive possession. -

I'm not watching the game but it seems to me that Mark Warburton hasn't yet found the right blend or starting 11. Barton, Rossiter and Halliday in midfield just doesn't seem balanced for a home game. -

No I'm not suggesting anything like that but something is up with him IMO . He certainly didn't appear very enthusiastic or in good spirits. -

Just a small point I noticed and I hate to say it or appear negative but I just watched Mark Warburtons pre match interview and his demeanour and body language just wasn't right or certainly not his usual self? Anyone else pick up a certain vibe from it? -

I'm going 2-1 Rangers. After their shite performance against the scum M'gee will make them extremely difficult to break down this week. -
Well written and above all else the truth as usual.

People like Sutton are much more than pundits / mere commentators. The media influences so much public opinion and they can control what they want us to see or hear, dependant on their agenda. With the likes of Sutton or Hartson for example their agenda is to talk up IRAceltic and talk down Rangers ( in simple terms ). The opinions they give and the words they use and even the tone they say it in very often portrays a far from impartial view. These things in time contribute to raising the profile of certain IRAceltic players and inflating their potential transfer value etc. So basically they know they are in a position that can assist their former club. I have absolutely no doubt that this is manufactured right from the very heart of IRAceltics board room. It's no coincidence that so many of their former players rock up on some sort of media platform? Their hate for Rangers knows no bounds. Sutton etc know exactly what they are doing, that's why he's so hard to stomach.

But the club have taken all reasonable steps to stop this sort of thing, haven't they??? I mean if one individual smuggles in a flag? It's not as if there was any indication anyone would do this? Its an isolated incident, it's not like they have any previous for bad behaviour? Anyway it was probably Rangers fans in disguise, or a display to raise awareness about testicular cancer or something charitable in Palestine ? They only have craic in their stadium and jolly old banter.

CL league qualification is now a necessity
7troop replied to thehost's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
Although worded a bit panicky the O.P. Raises a fair point. Their imminent qualification means £20 + million more income for them this season and maybe more if they progress to the knock out stages. This aligned with retaining the league this season and perhaps qualifying for next seasons CL puts an ever increasing financial gap between us. It would be foolish to ignore or deny these scenarios as it clearly hands them an advantage over us. However we need to get behind our own team, our board and put the utmost trust in our manager regardless of financial disparities. We are building infrastructure for the future and it's just good as a Rangers fan to be talking and worrying about football instead of all the other nonsense we've endured. No matter how long it takes they know we are coming, our finest hour is ahead. -

Is Wallace still one of our best players?
7troop replied to graeme_4's topic in Jimmy Bell's Kitroom
I think he will be much more under the radar this season simply because against better opposition he won't be bombing forward just as much. I can see why you have raised the point though because I think he does appear a bit pedestrian and vulnerable at times. As a captain I'd like to see a bit more animation and instruction from him as he seems a bit quiet. I have no doubts about his quality and commitment though and like any player he will go through wee phases where performances may dip for whatever reason. Still only one Lee Wallace.... -
We have one chance to achieve a sensational feat in winning the title first year back. This season would be the most successful ever IMO if we won it. Failing that I want 2nd place, a trophy and to hold our own against the scum in the matches v them. More than ever I want respect and parity for our club and fans. Making the ultimate statement and beating them all = success.

Agreed entirely. McKay and Rossiter were the best.
-
Both Kiernan and Wilson make each other look bad because the partnership isn't strong enough. Neither of them are leaders or organisers in the defence. If we bring in the quality defender we crave then I'd be more confident that either one of them would do ok playing alongside him. Its like the Davy Weir / Danny Wilson partnership we used to have. Wilson was more than capable because he had a leader and organiser beside him. I think that was the thinking behind Clint Hill coming in but he's no Davy Weir.

Agree with this mate. Point about the subs who came on is also spot on but I think at that stage the game had swung so much that they were unable to influence in any real manner. -

That weakness in defence in the first half caused that awful second half. Positives - I thought young Rossiter battled well in midfield and McKay was always a threat / outlet and some of his touches, passes and vision were sublime. Disappointed MW didn't react sooner in taking Harry off. Good 3 points which is what really counts and a good learning experience. -

And that's exactly why we need to improve our defence. Totally controlling the game 2-0 up and then give away a simple corner and leads to a goal. Game has turned into a real scrappy battle ever since. Not at all comfortable this half. -

I'm sorry to be negative but the truth is MW nearly cost us there. Forrester should have been the first Sub not the third. Giving people like Sutton ammo to beat us with. -

Any neutral commentator or one applying balance would be absolutely raving about the quality of Barry McKay. The lad is so much better than I even thought. Absolute star in the making if he wants to be. -

We need a goal here to take control again. -
I thought they were man for man and Barton lost his?

I hope Warburton sees the immediate potential issue with Forrester. He needs to Sub him ASAP because he's going to get sent off. -

Some great play, some usual frustrations and some usual terrible defending. Every team watching us will know all they need to do is win set pieces against us and put the ball in the box. Some of McKays passes are sublime. Halliday not impressing, good finish from Miller but little else. Just don't think we go forward with the intensity, drive and purpose that we could. It's great controlling play but I'd like to see us bombard defences relentlessly.
